Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Alright this rebounding stuff is terrible we traded for Roy Hibbert on Portland. And he has played five games with us and he has averaged 5rpg through those five games its ridiculous. Its like they don't even make my bigs try to get rebounds like we really need game sliders for my career mode. Like we cant even get rebounds after free throws and Hibbert is 7'2 and aldridge is 6'11 like wtfOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Does the defensively anchor sig make your teams defense better really is it like a noticeable difference trying to decide if I should buy it or notOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Can't stress enough how important it is to have players not afraid to actually shoot the ball or take the smart shot. I have Mason on NOH who is actually a decent (85 rating) 3pt shooter but will NOT EVER take the shot on the kick out, even when wide open. He will only catch-n-shoot on "shot clock at 1" type situations. So annoying. Same thing with Aminu. He will only shoot contested on drives, nothing else.
Yet Rivers come in and immediately starts gunning. He won't even pass it to me when I call for it half the time, and he is more than glad to take a shot in a catch-n-shoot situation.
Jason Smith is surprising me. He's been getting minutes lately and he is another who will take shots gladly. He's becoming a good asset in the PnR when Anderson sits. He launches immediately on the catch even less reluctant than Anderson. He's been money, might have to discuss this with the GM.
Back up to Superstar. For some reason AS became too easy after the patch. If I'm scoring 30 I want it to be a difficult 30, not just by defenders giving me shot after shot and being able to blow by people every play. Guess I'll just have to deal with the CPU BS to get the added challenge.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
...I don't even use my lvl 3 bruiser skill either for the same reason. I've used both sig skills together and it would feel like I was playing on pro. No sarcasm.
It also depends what position you play too because if your a guard or a SF you can't play as much help-d as you like so you need Def Anchor to make sure your A.I. teammates are better aware at controlling the paint. I don't have this problem as a center because I literally keep the CPU under 40 points in the paint every game so they're always having to settle for an outside shot.Last edited by Humdinger80; 12-04-2012, 08:08 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
So I just recently went back to playing on HOF 12min quarters but instead of playing simulation I went to default sliders. And it seems my team plays better defense and we are not getting beat every time on the rebounds but we are beating every team by at least 10
What do u like Default or simulation slider settingsOnly thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Darn it! Can't get even lvl 2 Bruiser due to the Strength rating cap on my player at 70. Still equipped lvl 1 though, better than nothing.
What are some ways you guys get your team to play better D? I have Def Anchor lvl 3 already. Does Teammate Chemistry have a big effect on team defense?
Just got smacked by LAC (10-16), battled CP3 valiantly but he lit us up for 39 pts 5 rebs 8 asts. I recorded a nice game, 25 pts 5 rebs 7 asts but still lost 113-91. They really held AD in check and that was the difference.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Using LeBron's release w/Shot Base 17. It's nice and quick but also gets decent elevation. It's close to how I shoot IRL, a little off-center like that, ball up high, shoot on the way up.
Got about 4500 VC saved up. Currently 83 OVR with my Athletic PG on NOH. We're 13-9, AD is back from injury, just got good W's vs OKC (13-10) and MIN (1st in league at 14-4, I know WTH) and my avg's so far:
23.5 ppg
2.9 rpg
7.4 apg
.3 spg (I'm just terrible at stealing)
.5 bpg
I love the dynamic we have in NOH. Begin the game feeding AD... He goes out end of 1st, start Pick n Fade'ing with Anderson, hitting Gordon in the open court and letting him work, run some plays for 3's for Rivers/Mason. Start attacking in 2nd... 2nd half same routine, but end attacking more and feeding AD. Working so far.
Have Def Anchor maxed and Gatorade sig. Saving up to get Lockdown Defender and improve things like Hands, Quickness and Off/Def Awr. But I'm leaning toward finishing the season without upping anything, then come back next year with Lockdown Defender and improved ratings, having "worked hard during offseason" to help the team and become a true centerpiece like the NOH rep told me I could be before the draft lol.

I also have an athletic PG with the Hornets and I'm loving it. I just started it a few days ago, I was getting sick of playing PG in Detroit and didn't want to demand a trade, I wanted to get drafted by a team and play my entire rookie contract with them, so I started over. Going into it I knew I wanted to get drafted by New Orleans and form a sick Big 3 with Unibrow and Gordon. I only had to do the showcase 3 times before I got drafted by New Orleans haha.
I've got us at 12-6. Took Greivous' starting job after 8 games. I'm a 73 overall. Put a lot of VC into maxing out my athletic traits. I hate how you pick the athletic archetype and yet your guy has middle-of-the-road athleticism for a PG to start out with. Your athleticism doesn't magically blossom once you get drafted. You don't go from an 85 to a 99 speed in real life. Whatever your speed is in college, that's your speed in the NBA. So when I play with an athletic archetype I usually try to max these attributes as soon as possible because I feel like I should have had them to begin with.
Current averages:
16.9 ppg
7.8 apg
6.1 rpg
1.1 spg
2.9 topg
47.5% FG
80% FT
100% 3pt (I've only taken 1 on the season and got lucky lol, my 3pt rating is awful, haven't put any points into it and I believe it starts out at like 45 or 50)
I too love the dynamic of the team. We've got interior scoring, we've got outside shooters, and we've got stretch bigs who can be trusted taking mid-range and even 3 pointers (Anderson). And we know that Davis is going to develop into a defensive beast. Team is set up to be a contender in the west for a lot of years.
What are some of your favorite plays to call? I'm lazy so I usually either a) call "Run Best Play," b) pick and roll with Davis/pick and fade with Anderson or c) if we really need a bucket I will call an iso for myself and try to break down my defender and get to the rim. But I've been thinking lately I want to start calling my own plays. The CPU calls the same 3 plays over and over again.
Can't stress enough how important it is to have players not afraid to actually shoot the ball or take the smart shot. I have Mason on NOH who is actually a decent (85 rating) 3pt shooter but will NOT EVER take the shot on the kick out, even when wide open. Agree with all of this. Nothing more frustrating than drawing a 2nd defender, kicking it to a wide open player who.... doesn't shoot, but drives into the paint and gets his shot blocked immediately.
Also hate how often Eric Gordon gets his shot blocked due to his form. He shoots like a 6th grader, but it goes in at a very high rate as long as he's not getting it blocked.
I'm loving the minutes I get with Jason Smith on the court, he loves to put up as many shots as he can because he knows he's only playing 10 minutes a night haha.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Do you use PnR or PnF with Jason Smith? I want to have Jason Smith open in the mid-range since he scores the mid-range almost everytime.
Also, any tips on getting Ryan Anderson open in the 3pt line? PnF doesn't work after a while for me.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Got 1452 VC to work with after mynba2k and mylife. Usually when I get over 1000, I get a Sig Skill. This time I use it on ratings. I got Hands to 80(71) and Off/Def Reb to 80. That got my Rebound rating to 90. Getting Hands up to 80, should reduce the amount of times I bounce the ball up instead of snatching it out. I will then boost Shot Close to 80 and Shot Close to 75. I will then Shot in Traffic to 80(at 35).
Since I not getting Eraser, I will go after Bruiser. I will replace Gatorade Skill. Probably with Post Proficiency.Comment
