Hi all,

I'm new to the 2K series, i think the last NBA video game i played was in 1998

I created a SG at first, earned about 10k VC points and realized that I had spent them all mixed...so instead of 1 good/great area, I have several OK areas.

So yesterday I make a "D-Howard"ish Center, my rookie game ended with an A rating with 18 points and 14 boards.

Now, my average rating in the season is B or B+. I find that as a center, getting a good teammate grade is easy -set up a few screens, get a few boards, you're set at B- at least.

However, I noticed that I am not scoring as much. Most of my games end up with less than 10 points.

I just started making first team so I was hoping to get some advice on how I can score more points as a Center.

I have the Bruiser skill at level 2, and inside shot at 90. I'm planning to max out inside shot first, then get Bruiser 3. Which other stats/skills should I focus on as a center?

Depends on who you play for and the position you play. I'd look to fill holes and go after realistic targets. Morey is 2 for 2 in delivering players I've requested and I think we are a contender right now as a result. If he asks me again I don't think I'm going to make any suggestions. Big Baby for a 1st round pick and Bargnani for Parsons/Jones were huge for us and we are in "win now" mode.

I really like playing with Harden. He can score on his own, hit open jumpers if you dish to him, and I often rely on him as my closer in the 4th quarter (even though he doesn't have the sig skill). He's the Wade to my LeBron. The Westbrook to my Durant. He doesn't overshadow me but will take us home when I'm gasping for air often.

Bargnani is a beast too because he's so damn versatile. 7 footer that can shoot the three. If I want to drive he can fade out and hit a spot up jumper if I dish to him. Or, he can abuse other PF's with his size if I post him up or dish to him on the pick and roll. He's a taller poor man's dirk.

harden was gonna be one of my choices but i dont want them to trade brook unless were getting a better center in return because i need a big that can score

Best way to score as a center in my opinion is offensives rebounds or putbacks. Especially if you cant shoot

I had started a MyCareer mode with an athletic all-around point guard.

I was drafted by the Bulls and had a pretty good clip going towards the end of my third season, (they picked up my option) but playing with Rose was getting to me.

Before I canned this one I was averaging;
17.1 ppg
9.5 assists
4.3 boards

I decided to start a new one last night. Played good in the Showcase with;

22 points
9 assists
5 boards
2 steals
1 block

Drafted at #16 by Dallas and stayed there for the first half of the season. Went to my GM and told him that Collison and I were not getting along and that something had to be done. He told me that there was nothing he could do. Continued to play the season and then went back to him a month later and said that nothing had changed and that I wanted to be traded. One week later he called me in and informed me that I had been sent to my only choice, the Lakers!!! Now I am playing behind Nash as I have supplanted Blake for minutes.

In the postseason now and just beat OKC in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals at Staples! 91-88 was the final, Westbrook had chance to tie it as time expired but his shot bounced off the rim! Getting ready to take on Miami in the NBA Finals tonight!!!

Since my PF plays in Hornets, the remaining key games are against Star players. I am the starting Center. I dont mind because I am a PF/C anyway, I just need to develop a post game. I think there are more Star Centers, then PFs. The reason why I starting at Center because there isnt any good Centers on the team. Even though Anthony Davis is out with a bruised tailbone, I am still the Center.

We are 13-23. I am hoping that we stay in the bottom of the league. I think we are at a top 5 in draft slot now. Even though this year there is a possibility getting a bust now in top 10, I am hoping we can go after another good Player. I just asked for Maynor again. But if we dont trade for him, I would like us to go after a PG that can pass and play defense. The addition of Wilson Chandler really helped us out and it is great that he is only 25. If we dont get a PG through trade or draft, I wouldnt mind us going for a backup SF. We are good in the Frontcourt and good at SG. I really dont like Rivers at PG.

I got Block to 85, and hands to 72. I will stop boosting Hands at 80. I will then get Off and Def Reb to 80. Then I am done with rebounding for a while. I am guessing I have about 5+ key games left in season. So, I should be to get those ratings to where I want to. I want to at least get Shot Close to 80 and start boost SIT

I am NOT that great of a player. I consider myself an average player at best. So yes, I think there are a lot of players with better stats. It all depends on your team. If I had a three point shooter to pass that could actually hit a wide open jumper when I get double teamed I would have 12 assists per game. Trying to brag about average stats is a bit silly.

Low post scoring is by far the easiest. I have a higher shooting percentage with scoring on OR but most of my points come from post moves. You really don't need very high stats in Post Moves, hook shot, etc either. You just need to know how to do the moves and know when to alter your shot. Hell, my point
Guard goes down in the post when I am struggling with shots going down. He may have bad post stats but the pg guarding me suck at post defense more!

Here are the season stats for my Athletic SF so far (29 games All-star/sim):

• MPG: 35.5
• PPG: 25.9
• RPG: 9.1
• APG: 3.6
• FG%: .525
• 3PT%: 0%
• FT%: .795

My goal here is to keep my pts average about 25pts/gm and to increase the rebounds to 12 or 14 a game. Ideally, I'd like my assists to be higher, but as things stand, I don't think I will achieve that with this character.

Also keep in mind I am using a community roster, so my numbers are not going to match up with an official roster.

That is why it is hard for me to go back to my PG. Even though I just got my 1st triple double of career, the career was started with 2k's roster. My PF was used with community roster. It has realistic scores and sim stats compared to my PG's career.

Your stats are better then a typical year for Charles Barkley - let's compare you vs him:

32pts/gm vs 28pts/gm

15RB/gm vs 11.9RB/gm

8A/gm vs 3.2A/gm

And this was the year that had his highest pts/gm. So you are doing great.

Each of us have so many things different during our campaigns, that it is hard to cross-compare; main thing is that you enjoy the experience. Anything else is gravy.

Using LeBron's release w/Shot Base 17. It's nice and quick but also gets decent elevation. It's close to how I shoot IRL, a little off-center like that, ball up high, shoot on the way up.

Got about 4500 VC saved up. Currently 83 OVR with my Athletic PG on NOH. We're 13-9, AD is back from injury, just got good W's vs OKC (13-10) and MIN (1st in league at 14-4, I know WTH) and my avg's so far:

2.9 rpg
7.4 apg
.3 spg (I'm just terrible at stealing)

I love the dynamic we have in NOH. Begin the game feeding AD... He goes out end of 1st, start Pick n Fade'ing with Anderson, hitting Gordon in the open court and letting him work, run some plays for 3's for Rivers/Mason. Start attacking in 2nd... 2nd half same routine, but end attacking more and feeding AD. Working so far.

Have Def Anchor maxed and Gatorade sig. Saving up to get Lockdown Defender and improve things like Hands, Quickness and Off/Def Awr. But I'm leaning toward finishing the season without upping anything, then come back next year with Lockdown Defender and improved ratings, having "worked hard during offseason" to help the team and become a true centerpiece like the NOH rep told me I could be before the draft lol.

Just started a career and harden in not on HOU. Can you only use the default before draft roster in this mode?
