Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
With your set-up, I'd go with one of the following:
1: Lock-down Defender - This would allow you to nullify the Sig skill of the opponents' best offensive threat (also a rumor it works on interior defense as well as perimeter d)
2: Active hands - to stop drives from the Westbrooks/Roses/Pauls of the world.
If you are inclined to go with Microwave, I'd suggest Antifreeze instead... others have said it seems to be more useable and better, and this is my experience as well.
Also, because you are pass-first and built to help your teammates instead of yourself, the Post Playmaker skill might be helpful, especially for Beasley or Brown on outlet perimeter type of shots. Just a thought, but this can be quite overpowering if abused.
Never really thought about antifreeze before. Interesting...
I don't have a problem containing the guards as I have my speed at 97, quickness at 96 and on ball defense as 90. I basically use active hands when I'm on defense in a fast break scenario which isn't often as offensively I do a good job getting the team to score consistently
Post playmaker for a 6-3 pg? Interesting concept, but maybe later in my career as I get older and can't jump as high
But thanks again for the suggestions...it helpsComment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Has anyone had any luck with free agents? Every year it is the same pool, yet other teams in the league make big signings. When the GM asks me who he should sign it's always low rated guys, with the highest being Rudy Fernandez.Comment

I wish Kevin McHale would drop his personal vendetta against me and let me stay on the field for more than one dead ball situation....
Oh yeah, and I got the brand decision and magazine cover while averaging 6 points per game. Does not make it feel like a huge reward. That's not an insult, THAT is just a fact of life.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Just encountered the ASW "End of Season" glitch. Played in the Rising Stars, got MVP with 35pts 7rebs 11 ast. Lost the dunk contest horribly. Went to "Play Next Game" and it simmed the whole 2nd half of the season. This really ticked me off, as we were 1st at 33-12 and I was looking forward to some of those games. Never even played the Heat yet, smh.
But at least we stayed #1, now it's Round 1 vs NYK aka "The Melo Show." As a 6'3" PG/SG, I already know I'm at his mercy. I can't defend him, and I don't expect my teammates to do too good a job, seeing as he lit us up during the season. His season avg's were 29.7, 7 & 3. Here we go.
Got the "Winners Decide History" intro right before Game 1 just now, pretty sweet now I'm hype let's go! Umm.. apparently I lost my starting job during the summing after ASW. Also, teammate chemistry went from 82 to 64 wtf. And I lost out on Rookie of the year to Bradley Beal, despite beating him in every statistical category and my team being way better. I avg'ed 18pts 6ast 1stl 3 rebs.
Created a Retro 1 Playoff Edition and they look sweeeettt.
When I get enough for a Sig Skill it's def gonna be a defensive one like Active Hands. One thing I need to improve on is my defensive impact on games.Last edited by HOLLIDAY1183; 10-16-2012, 03:47 PM.NOW PLAYING:

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Made a 6'3", 190lbs PG (3pt specialist) and got drafted by the Pistons. I've simmed quite a bit as I usually lose interest in one guy and make another before I even get to the playoffs. So, I'm past the All-Star game which I did not make because I've personally only played about 15-20 games. No biggie, I'm a rookie. I simmed past the entire weekend thanks to reading the "no games after the ASG" glitch. Didn't want to mess with it. I did beat out Will Bynum for a starting job about halfway through the season, but I simmed some more and dropped back down to the 6th man again. I'm not as worried about it as some people are because I'm a rookie and even though I'm the 6th man, I'm still getting 30+ minutes a game. My sig skills are Anti-freeze and the one where you can throw great ally-oops. We're currently in 9th or 10 in the East and I plan on playing quite a few more games to see if we can squeak into that last spot and make the playoffs. Having a blast so far. Loving this PG more than my C I made before.
EDIT: I played the Heat and noticed that King James wasn't in the starting lineup. I didn't see him in the box score for the team either and also noticed that they had Brandon Bass at Center. Fearing the computer traded him for Brandon Bass and something else, I exited out and notice that they traded two other guys for Bass and someone else. I then looked at the injury report: James out for the SEASON with a torn MCL. Hilarious.Last edited by BA2929; 10-16-2012, 05:49 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Like do you HAVE to participate in the dunk or 3pt contests? Is that a viable workaround?
Cause for real, I'll save it till next season if it means its going to erase the second half of my seasonComment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
So I just got done with All Star Weekend (the dunk contest, which I won), and when I get back to the menu there are NO games left on my schedule.
I pick play next game, it sims the rest of the season and brings me to the finals MVP which is Lebron. The rest of my season after All Star Weekend simmed, and I have no idea why. This really pisses me off big time, thanks 2k
I freaking love this game mode, but the bugs make it hard to stick with it. I gave up last year after I got benched after the All-Star game despite leading the league is scoring. I do not want to have to give up on it again this year.Last edited by Quint75; 10-16-2012, 05:21 PM.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Does anyone know if this happens if you choose to skip the All-Star festivities? And yes, this sucks.
