Yeah, and the roster update isn't out yet either.. Who would have known 2K wouldn't have the correct roster up on release day.. Horrible

Yeah, I'd say 80% of my time spent playing these games each year is making rosters myself or messing around with our people's rosters they've made.. With a flawed association and a very unimpressive all-star weekend I might not be playing 2K13 much at all this year..

I guess for the myplayer guys at least they made some improvements there.. I just never play this mode, so for me personally this game was a huge let down

Could not agree more. No amount of gameplay improvement can make up for this. I don't think I have it in me to learn a new game when there won't be any roster sets I want to play as... except of course the Bieber team...

2k13 was clearly made to cater to the younger generation. Guess us 30 and up players get the shaft...

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me.. You have successfully created the best selling basketball game series of all time yet you decide to start taking away from the things that "made you" in the first place.. 2K must just want a bunch of un-happy fans..

I'm not quite 30 yet lol but I'm in the same boat with you..

Sounds like Blizzard and their Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House. Can't believe VC/2k went down the same route and decided to skip on game quality again.

Missing rookies are due to the last time the Roster was updates which was Aug 3rd. None of the players signed by then. And there'd contracts aren't guaranteed so no use of them being on the roster.

Many of them will be on their teams, so there is use for them.. I like playing with the most updated rosters do you not? They could at least be in the free agent pool for us to assign ourselves.

As long as they actually get everyone on the rosters correct this weekend I will be ok... my guess is people like Shevd in Minnesota and Morrison in Portland will be missing... let alone people like Wallace in New york who are still "working" on their contract finalization...

Pretty much its a very poor design decision especially for a Sports game

They should have given us an option to turn the collection of VC off and thus Auto Save

Great theory by SeanBarkley on the Roster threads: all about the VC points being purchasable on the Marketplace. If we could Hex then there is a chance we could Hex to get all the accessories and such they are selling for free. 2k prefers to go that route than keep loyal customers happy. It doesn't take a genius statistician to realize there is a major correlation between 2k's sales spike and the inclusion of classic rosters. Shame they can't see that.

Looks like another season of 2k12 for this guy.

Morrison was actually hidden on 2K12, I made an association trying to rejuvenate his career haha.. He should be able to be added to the roster this year.. If not, 2K is slacking YET AGAIN lol

If people are buying this game strictly for the legends you need to prepare yourselves to be disappointed more often. Do people really think 2k wanted to put in the 02 Kings and 77/85 Sixers without Webber and Dr.J? Legend teams are a tough thing to get 100% accurate every year due to the individual licensing of each former player. Some players may just not want to do it or simply want more cash than 2k has or is willing to spend. It's a waste of time to complain about missing legends because that is not always the sole fault of 2k. Like I've said in the past it might be time to start moving away from the legends aspect and focus on the current generation of hoopers. I like legend teams but I know they can be a pain to complete.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

The problem is its not JUST missing legends.. This game has left off tons of crap.. And with ruining hex editing and other issues we can't even fix the legend teams or create new ones, if we so wished..

Re: 2K taking too much away from the game??

I agree with the general view of some of the posts i am seeing but i don't see it as dire as others. Are some legends missing from last year? Yes. But the 00-01 Sixers were added and we can edit historic team rosters offline from the start this year. So with the ability to create or download "legends" i am playing with more complete historical teams than i was at this point last year. Not saying i wouldn't like Kareem, Dr J and Webber, just saying you do gain Iverson and its pretty easy to download and insert created guys.

The rookie complaint and roster complaint in some ways is the same thing. We know they'll update those and said when. Its not like they are taking them away.

The Autosave thing does bug me. You can save various rosters if you want to test. I have to admit i have no idea if you can save an association or not separately.

The hex editing complaint to me so hard to rip them for. Its not like it was a feature, it was a lucky bonus really. I love what those guys did with the changes but Sony customers didn't have it and they lived.

They added shoe creator which i don't care about but its not like they didn't add anything to the game and only took away. They added more custom music events. Added the Sixers like i mentioned earlier. Added the Dream Team and 2012 Olympic team. Changed the controls and whatever i missed.

Overall, i just do not see the sky is falling.

That really killed my 2K high along with the autosave stuff. I already came to gripes with them taking away leg accessory combinations and no D-League which limits 2nd round rookies making the game this year. But destroying hex editing and autosaving not being able to be taken off has really made 2K13 worse.

I don't know if they were rushing because they just knew Live was coming out (which is laughable if that's the case) or all the legends and Joe Camel took away all the money to bring in the D-League or they sayed they don't want roster makers messing with team colors or shoes. All of these little things add up to one big problem for personal customization.

2K12 had it's flaws but if they would have just added the new dribble stick to what was already there I would have been perfectly fine. This feels alot like WWE'12. It's like they strip everything down and said here play with this and next year we are going to give you all the customization you want but we are moving in a new direction with the VC points, Sig Skills, Physics, and Gameplay. If this was said I would have been prepared. I feel like I'm in a Diddy contract and can't have any creative control. I have to be locked in this box that is supposed to be good enough.
