Re: Virtual Currency frustration
We might as well. They made it way too difficult to earn, and there are too many 12 year olds who steal their mom's credit card to buy VC.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
It's pretty obvious 2K has put "Virtual Currency" in the game to make Real currency.
I play 3v3 online with my friends every night, and once I see a star player I leave negative feedback..but here's what I think 2K should have done:
When you start your My Career and get signed, you get a contract (vc) but when you play games you still get skill points. So for instance, at the end of a game, you get like 50 vc and 200 skill points.
Quick games, association games, and My Team games could still give VC.
3v3 blacktop mode gives you VC and skill points.
Don't make skill points purchasable, because the same people that "hacked" Crew mode, are the same people willing to pay $40 extra in ms points to get that 99 overall. 2K would still get a profit, considering how expensive accessories and clothes are.
Then, in a month or two, release Crew Mode as a DLC for $20. Still pretty expensive as a mode that should be in the game, but people such as myself would pay for it.
This way, 2K won't look as greedy, and people would be more willing to pay for VC.
Just my 2 cents, obviously I'm not a game developer but as a customer who doesn't make $300,000/yr, I think I know how I want to spend my money and still have fun.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Knowing that VC probably might be exploited, 2k said lets make the gear 5000VC, we might as well.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Does anyone know how to turn the vc on in mycareer ? I feel since its like the only mode I basically play , I might as well save up vc rather than skill points .Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
All the accessories are ridiculously overpriced, the way it is now there's no logical reason to spend 5000 VC on a shooting sleeve when I could use that VC to max out 3pt shot and get a good boost to speed. Making the myplayer store items so expensive limits customization and encourages buying/exploiting VC.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Only problem I have with VC is how little of it you get playing it in MyCareer. Other than that, I think it balances out a lot of things considering hardcore players and casuals. If someone wants to buy VC because they can't play more than 2 hours a day, the more power to them.
Plus, its ridiculously easy to earn VC out of MyCareer, as playing/Coach Moding 48 minute games nets you 600 points every time.Comment

I would just like to start off by saying i love 2K13, it is by far the best basketball i have played in YEARS, i wouldnt trade it for any other game and the 2k team really did their thing this year.
With that being said, I HATE THE CURRENT VIRTUAL CURRENCY SYSTEM. I understand that it is supposed to be a type of reward system but how much of a reward is it to play MyTeam against people who spent real money buying LeBron, Steph Curry and Dwight. I understand this money is going to 2k so they are pleased but i feel like for a person who doesnt want to spend real money this game is impossibly hard. I really didnt want to come on here and rant, i enjoy reading the posts here and not really talking much but i just had to get these points off my chest...
MyPlayer store- I feel like EVERYTHING is severely over priced. The sweaters or longsleeve shirts are 5,000 VC.... You only get about 250VC per game so basically for one shirt you have to play about 20 games. I know its something extra but it would be nice to look good for less you know? And yes the plain tops are a lot cheaper but they have no design or anything, just a solid color, thats lame.
MyCareer- This might be the worst part. Now i am no god at this game. I think im like average, i was better last year. But uhhh, i am finding it VERY difficult to be good in myplayer, first i am not getting much minutes, because of that i cant complete milestones, no milestones, no extra VC. And payday comes around and i barely get any VC. You are forced to sign for 500VC over a year or 2. that is INCREDIBLE. 500VC wont move most of my stats up more than 3. How long will i be a bum bench warmer in this mode?
MyTeam- More of my frustration comes from losing to people who DID choose to spend money, right now my team is Rivers, Korver, MikeMiller, Novak, Radmanovic. With them starting and even worse guys on the bench i have made it up to the 6th seed AKA Lebron land. EVERYONE here has lebron and its hard to compete when he is a better center than my center and point than my point. I tried to get more players by buying gold packs but have YET to get a player, all i get is stadiums and jerseys.
NBA Blacktop- WHY exactly do we have to waste VC to play with some guys on the blacktop? i understand if it was legends, but really, Jrue holiday? Caron butler?
Again i love 2k but i dont want them to FORCE me to spend real money to fully enjoy their game, i feel like they beat EA and then turned in to them using us for micro-transactions. Anyone else have thoughts on this? im about to just give up on every mode except the association until i go through enough seasons that im loaded with VC...Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
I didn't realize how wide the discrepancy in VC was between MyCareer games and other modes until this evening. Typically, when playing MyCareer, I earn between 50-110 VC points per contest (8 minute quarters). Tonight, I played a 9 minute quarter quick game exhibition and earned nearly 500 total VC points. That's a difference stark enough to suggest the best way to improve in your MyCareer might be to not play your MyCareer.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Sorry, I have a question. If i purchased vc and wanted to delete my career and start a new one, would i get the PURCHASED VC back? if not thats bull****.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Nope. 2k is all about squeezing every possible dime out of you this year unfortunately...Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
The thing is that there is a precedent for this type of mechanic, and it’s primarily seen in games that are ostensibly free. NBA 2K13 is not free. It’s a full retail release that comes out every year. To have a Facebook-game style mechanic in a game that customers pay $60 per year for is borderline insulting to the audience.Comment
