Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Then don't use your hard earned money to buy VC. Grind it out. It's that simple. Most games are going in this direction whether we like it or not.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
It doesn't make sense. But I think most of you are missing the bigger picture here. Obviously this system is creating a larger cashflow for 2K. Now what can be done with more money? Hire more developers! Heck, they can even use the extra money to entice better developers to come work on NBA2K14. Generally, ONE developer's salary is anywhere from 60-80k and upward a year... not very cheap. They can also afford to pay for better support for NBA2K13. Not just developers either, artists, sound guys, anyone who works on this game.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
I think that the clothing is overpriced and I have to admit that the thing with the equipment, where you can buy it in the one store or go into the team store and buy it customized to your team is kinda low.
If I buy a sleeve, I should be able to adjust it to team colours without having to spend more VC to buy a team specific sleeve, brace, etc. Not being able to adjust previously purchased equipment, THAT'S CRAP.
I think these types of systems are okay if you can see a system that offers something reminiscent of fair value, but there is a thin line between that and straight exploitation.
If you ask me, player attributes and animations seem underpriced and the clothing seems ridiculous. If you think about it another way, why would I want to spend ANY VC on off-court clothing? It's stupid...Basketball made me the man I am today; Arthritic and Bitter...
What I think I think:
• Y'know, I've never played less NBA 2K than I did with NBA 2K12
• Sports VG titles were REALLY disappointing in 2011-12
• Thank Heaven for ME3 and Arkham City -- saved my winterComment

Not just developers either, artists, sound guys, anyone who works on this game. I made another thread earlier this week talking about how the developers only have one year to create these games. If you're a developer you know that one year to create a product like this is a pretty short amount of time, hence why we see so many bugs/glitches/aspects that are seemingly rushed into the game.
You all want an improved product but you don't think about things such as what I just said. I can totally see how it's annoying to some and why people are frustrated but you have to look at the positive side of things sometimes. Most people come to this forum to COMPLAIN and that's it. But seriously, give what I just said some thought.
Then again, as you mention, 2K could put their money toward more developers, who then in turn develop a 2K game completely based around a fictional currency that requires an online connection to experience even offline gaming modes to their fullest capacity and does not allow gamers to turn off the auto-save feature.Last edited by VDusen04; 10-05-2012, 01:53 PM.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
You make a valid point, but there is really only one way of combating this VC system. Don't buy any VC with real money. The fact is, people are lazy and would rather pay that $2.50 to get $10,000 VC. It's business, that is just the way it is and the only thing we can do about it is either not buy the VC or not buy the game anymore. Every year people find something to complain about, and every year they continue buying it. I'm sorry to say but you're just feeding the monster.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
I don't support this kind of business model but I don't think we should get our hopes up for a price reduction on all those accessories.(or being paid more VC for finishing a game)
The whole point of VC being cheap to buy and accessories being expensive is so that you spend money. If accessories prices were lowered people wouldn't be bothered to pay for VC since they can earn enough through playing the game.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
What the customer base wants or what you want? You do realize the customers on this forum make up a very small percentage of their customers right? Guess time will tell when NBA2K14 comes out and they either have or don't have the VC system.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
Why not play the game and earn the VC? Isn't that why you bought the game in the first place, to PLAY it? I know that's why most people buy it and not to sit there and spend hours upon hours customizing crap and added arm sleeves and headbands.Comment

Re: Virtual Currency frustration
I mean i have been playing it, it hasnt left my disk tray since i got it midnight on monday, the thing about it is my life time earnings of VC right now is about 15k. I play A LOT, i am in the 5th seed in MyTeam, im through about 30 games of MyPlayer and am in November in the association. The way VC is though i cant manage buying accessories, raising my stats AND buying stuff for MyTeam, you just dont make enough VC. Some people dont find dressing up your guy serious but i personally do, especially considering how MyPlayer faces are. But when you look at the STARS in the NBA they do dress up. Lebron always wears his headband and wristbands. Wade always has the elbow sleeve or elbow band. Melo always has his headband and sleeve on his left arm. And if you are talking about the sweaters off the court i have one name for you: Russell Westbrook.GT- Rod Is Godly
