Yep. Post ups. nearly every time a play was called it was bynum in the post.
He had 4asts due to me being forced to double him.

yeah. the teams that have a primary or dominant post threat I raised the "look for post" coach profile.

I really hope this cpu A.I issue gets patched.

To some it would just look like the cpu is being aggressive and attacking.
Plays very similar to your typical cheese player. But to the experienced single player 2k gamer, this flaw stands out.

Pity cause if the cpu called plays as it should [and as it has in all previous games] when there is no transition basket opportunity, the game would be Awesome.

Im more of a online gamer but this is a serious issue for playing vs the cpu. This makes the game feel so fake with this automatic code kicking in to fastbreak and take quick shots for the cpu on defensive rebounds. Every team playing hyper with no regard for a playbook when the code kicks in.

I have just seen this last game, and I remember seeing it all the time in myplayer. During myplayer, we controlled the tempo the first quarter and it was beautiful with the score 7 v 7 after 6 minutes of play (because of awesome defense from both sides). However, after i get subbed out and back in, suddenly its fast break after fast break and the game ends with a score of 80 v 80 or something like that. The sim scoring is also terrible as it always has been but thats a different issue. Anyway, this is making myplayer frustrating because i am a defensive center and nothing pisses me off more than seeing the opposing team score basket after basket from the outside on fastbreak runs (however, scoring is also too easy for the cpu in myplayer mode for some reason, even on sim/ superstar)

This works online ... if your opponent misses a shot and you get the defensive rebound, you will have a boost. It will be easier for you to get to the paint, shoot a basket, whatever than it is from actually inbounding the ball after the other player made a shot on you. It's weird and hard to explain. I notice my opponents online always score better after I miss a shot. My defensive is like weaker.

People in quick matches will take advantage of it and lead pass down court for easy scores. The game out the box is geared up for fast breaks off defensive rebounds.

But at least with two human users who play sim we can control not to fast break all the time, and call plays when we rebound.

That's another topic entirely that grinds my gears, but I think the only accurate way to test the issue being reported is to watch CPU/CPU gameplay and see how both teams respond on missed baskets. User interference muddies the waters.

But at least with two human users who play sim we can control not to fast break all the time, and call plays when we rebound.
Someone started doing this to me last night and it's easy to counter. Just call a timeout and change the Coach Settings for "Crash Offensive Boards" all the way down. Immediately negates the fast break.

Don't know if this solution for the problem has already been stated but this is what I did to counteract this issue. (I play on HOF)

                          1) Edit the Aggressive PG's shot tendency down. For example, Tony Parker's shot tendency is very high and when he gets a rebound he is looking to score everytime. Edit to around 80-85.

                          2) Edit every team fastbreak slider to 0 except for teams that do fastbreak, ie Denver to around 25.

                          3) Attack the basket slider to 0

                          4) Play half court defense, instead of man-to-man. This will allow your players to pick up the ball sooner off of missed baskets.

                          5) Turn the game speed and quickness down 5-7 notches

                          6) Turn user/cpu defense awareness up to 80, this will help in the cpu picking up the ball handler and being aware that a fastbreak is happening.

                          7) When the cpu pushes the ball, get the nearest person and get close to the ball handler and move the rigth-thumbstick. This will bring up the bump animation, which will slow the CPU down and he will be forced to pass or run a play.

** I know this seems like a lot but I had to play with it numerous times to get it right. The game is just too good to have a stupid flaw like this make it unplayable at times.

                              Re: CPU Offense question

I posted this in a different thread after reading this one prompted me to start testing to see what was going on. There is actually a really easy fix that genuinely works:

I may have found a legit fix to the fast break issue, but I ask you to help. The more testing is done, the more sure we can be of the fix.

I had tried changing difficulty levels, lowering the fast break slider to 0, too many slider variations to mention and had was seeing the same thing happen in CPU vs. CPU games - following a defensive rebound, the PG would sprint up court, do multiple And-1 Mixtape dribble moves and force up a mid-range/close shot. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Chris Paul take 26 shots in a game because of this.

I was about to just accept it and roll with it. Then, I decided something I hadn't tried yet - setting Play Calling in Coaching Profiles to 0. I thought that, maybe, this would lead to more freelance situations which would force the CPU into a different type of offense. What I've found is very surprising.

Turning Play Calling to 0 makes the CPU call plays EARLIER IN THE SHOT CLOCK and MORE OFTEN than at 100. At 100, after a defensive rebound, I've documented that the CPU waits 7-8 seconds to call a play. During that 7-8 seconds, the ball handler will usually force the action and force up a highly contested shot.

With Play Calling at 0, the majority of the time the CPU grabs a defensive rebound, a play is called within 4 seconds, they'll walk the ball upcourt and run the play. Following steals/blocks, the CPU will still look to run. For a reason unknown to me, setting Play Calling at 0 makes the CPU call more plays.

I know this sounds crazy. I wouldn't believe it if somebody else told me and I hadn't documented what I've witnessed myself. But I ask you to do this. Set the difficulty to Pro (I haven't had time to test on anything else. I assume it works on other difficulties as well but haven't had time to check.) Play with whatever slider set you want. Play with Fast Break under Coaching Profiles to whatever you want. Set play calls to 0. Start a CPU game but set at least one team to Coach Mode and turn play calling to auto, play art always and play notification always. Watch the CPU play a completely different game than what you've seen so far in terms of forcing fast breaks when they shouldn't.
I haven't personally tested this on anything other than pro, but people have told me they've tried it on the 3 higher difficulty levels and it works on them, also.

thx for posting & testing this slim, i'll give it a shot tonight and let you know what happens.. makes you wonder if the run plays slider is backward - i heard that's happened in past installments. man, what a continually broken game.
