Now users are forced to play VC earning game mode just to be able to equip your offline my player can't be called a balanced game design for offline users. (offline players can only earn SP which is useless when you go online shopping in case you didn't know. Buy some VC and move on you say? This IS the dumbest thing I heard today. People without Internet connection can't do online transaction. Do you see how dumb you sound now? )

And to anyone who calls the game mode with accessories costing more than skill improvement a balanced game.. I will laugh at you all day... Out loud. I'm just speechless at your another failed logic. SMH
I will also continue to laugh. It IS a concept that some people just don't grasp no matter how many times you explain it to them.

We are NOT AGAINST paying real money for NEW CONTENT. I repeat, for NEW CONTENT....as in content NOT ALREADY IN THE GAME for the last 7-8 years for free. There is a difference between paying money for something like Skyrim DLC or even Call of Duty map packs. Those are extras not already in the game that you need to download and add something NEW to the game.

They have us paying for SOCKS.....A PAIR OF SOCKS. Can anyone really defend that? Sure, you can struggle and play to earn the VC, but the central problem here is that earnings are decreased, and you now have to use currency for EVERYTHING. In 2k12 we earned significantly more skill points and it was all dedicated towards MyPlayer.

You would think it would be logical to increase earnings or AT LEAST keep them equivalent if we are going to:

    1. Have to pay for things that were previously free.
    2. Use VC for everything.

Someone in another thread said they dropped a 25/10/12 triple double and got a measly 250 VC. Breaking Kareem's scoring record in mycareer only earns you 5000 VC. Last year it was 38,387 skill points....Becoming the leading scorer in NBA history in MyCareer will get you half way to buying the worst silver players available. VC in a nutshell.

How does that reward sound to all you people saying "work for ur VC" or "if you really want it, you have to put in the time to earn it".

There is absolutely no failed logic in my post; the fact that you keyed into something that I didn't even say and made the whole post about it is the illogical part.

Balance meaning VC given is where it should be. One could argue that wasting 3000 vc on your 67 rated myplayer's armband is ridiculous, too. Or that once you get your player maximized in skill you should have something more to look forward to, like getting cool accessories.

GET AN INTERNET CONNECTION, son. It's 2012. You can't keep raging because the games cater to players who have internet. It's like being mad at someone who has a cell phone.

      -Smak
You are silly. If I'm an offline player why should I get Internet connection? Go on. Keep uttering your fail logic.

Why is it irrelevant that we are discussing offline users and how current VC system affects them? Wasn't my player always been offline game mode and it still is? Now 2K incorporated online feature to it but this function used to be accessible via offline edit mode last year. Do you now see how it is relevant to discuss online/offline thing? If you still can't then there is serious problem with your grasp of VC implementation. You really should stop getting involved in this thread. What a waste of time you are..

Also you are just so busy trying to defend your position but actually exposing more weak points in your argument. Sometimes you can't be right all the time. Stop being stubborn. None of your failed analogy works against my valid points. I won this argument and you know it.

The "precedent" point is wrong. Years ago, before Madden cards, you could unlock classic players and teams in Madden. Can you do that now? Again, I agree with the complaint, but don't try to paint this on one company.

I also forgot to add that breaking KAJ's record can net you a sweater for 5000VC. I guess 2k is preparing for the upcoming winter months. Don't want my player to be cold.

I'm sorry...were we complaining about the precedent being set in the industry or with one company? To set a precedent, don't you have to establish some sort of behavior that was previously non-existent, that could potentially grow into something more?

                  Who....wha-....how.....?

2K Sports makes NBA 2K13, right? We're in the NBA 2K section of an online forum, correct? So...wouldn't we complain about the precedent 2K is possibly setting with their title? Even if another company (or companies) have done this before....it wasn't done by studio we're discussing...so...I'm confused....

Who do I blame for the VC structure in MyCareer that's guiding player towards micro-transactionons?

Just played a MYTeam game where the dude had Nash, Allen, LeBron and Kevin Love in the starting five. His bench was stacked too. I wonder if it was worth it for him to spend that money lol. Not to mention he only beat me by 10 via extreme cheesing.

No. According to "that guy", don't pretend that this hasn't been going on for years now. I don't blame the companies. These are business moves. Plain and simple. I blame the consumer for buying into over the last 7 years.

And you don't know me. So don't try to act like you do. Don't try the little veiled insult on my intelligence. You act as if you're some forum vet, but most people know better. If you've ever taken to time to actually read my posts and interact with me on a level of mutual respect, you would have the right to make that statement. If you had ever bothered to read my posts, you would know my stance on virtual cash and "pay to win" systems. But since it's clear you don't actually read my posts, then there's not point in continuing either.

I tell you what - why don't you guys do one of a couple of things:

                          1. Don't EVER buy a game with a virtual cash system and stand on this veiled morale ground, and continue to post in this thread.

                          2. Get over it. State your distastes for the system, and play the game without buying VC.

                          3. Just keep whining in this thread. Go bang your head against a wall until it bleeds. And hope that the whining hasn't turned off enough people that they will continue to listen to you.

I'm done. I already stated my position. I certainly don't plan on buying VC. But DO plan on crushing some folks in our upcoming OA. Have fun guys. With whatever you do.

not reading through 17 pages but if anyone disagrees with OP than LOL you're whats wrong with this world. The video game industry went down hill when they decided to start charging for money for the dumbest things. Now games will have features for sale that would have been in a 60 dollar game like it was suppose to be without wasting anymore money. Sadly people actually do fork out money do buy these dumb useless things(unless it's worthy DLC) and that's why companies continue to do so but 2K is just pathetic with this VC system. They make it difficult to even get VC while playing in the game just so it forces the user to purchase more for the easier route. Whatever I just hope customers take a stand for this DLC bulls***....paying real money for accessories for your my player character? ****ing ridiculous. While 2k makes money off this stuff we still sit here and wait for this incomplete game to be complete

I think if customers aren't happy about what's going on with the game they should certainly let it be known. I agree that there are other ways to do it, though.
