Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
i havent started one game of my player until he's atleast a 76-77 rating... I just been playing online and association and every time I get vc i use it on my player's attributes... all the arm band crap doesn't phase me I'll worry about that when I can atleast make my player decent enough to get more than 60 vc a game lolComment

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
The VC system should be more balanced for sure. I have a fix that 2K obviously wouldn't go for because they are making ALOT of cash over this but...
Makethe basic in game accessories free (like in previous versions of MyPlayer) and charge VC for EXTRA purchases like tiger pants or a hoody to make your player look good and maybe provide a small boost for wearing them (like Rebounding Pants in Freestyle Street BBall on PC).
Hey, the VC thing is fine but I don't like how it was never said that you could purchase VC in any of the dev videos or all of the media work from @Ronnie2K and @LD2K.
My idea is that this is running like a beta test. They thought they had thought of all the ways that VC could be exploited but until you release it to 500,000 people you realize "Oh, sh!t... we didn't think people would be spending a ton of money on MyTeam right off the bat." I mean, even @LD2K said that "It would be impossible to run a team of allstars in MyTeam because the salaries you have to pay each game would be too steep." Guess what @LD2K, people are proving you wrong man... really wrong.Comment

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
No, not sad. I do find it unfortunate that those who (a) aren't old enough and/or don't have an income and (b) are offline players cannot fully take advantage of the game without shelling out this type of money. It's unfortunate for them, but it's the nature of the beast. It's how gaming companies are still able remain in the black and have entire teams dedicated to certain games all year long.
Sad, though? It's not. I work hard for my income and it's not putting me below the poverty line to purchase VC. I'm not even using it for the skill points, as I put at least 20,000 VC in accessories and animations right after the draft to give my player a unique feel.
Think about how much money gamers individually put into DLC every year and since the birth of DLC. It's not any sadder than paying >$500 for Rockband DLC or map packs for FPS's.
Those rock band packs...and COD maps...random costumes etc are EXTRA/ADD ONs that dont come with the original packaging.
2k is charging (those who wish to pay) for things that are already in the original packaging....
You can create a player outside of my player and use all the accessories you spend VC on...
The problem with the idea of buying VC is it isnt for DLC...
Its for things that are already in the game man...
Lets say you did buy Rock Band for $60
and they had in game currency for EXTRA/ADDITIONAL Content not already included in the game(songs/guitars etc)
That would warrant spending actually money.
Your essentially customizing the game.
Say you spent $60 extra on a bunch of song packs.
Given rock band is the type of game it is.
You'll have a whole new experience.
With 2k & VC...Its just not the same...at all.
The things you can purchase if you BUY VC with real currency includes wristbands and armbands that are included in every game.
If purchasing VC with real money meant we could buy new add ons for the game (courts & players)like you can buy maps or songs. No problem.
That adds to the game...If I have 50 Maps in COD and thats what I play. It cant get old.
If spending real money on VC meant we could buy new courts or whatever they decided to throw us
Their wouldnt be a problem...That is true DLC..
It just doenst make sense to buy it with real money if I can just play the game and get the same exact things without spending actual money.Last edited by 24ct; 10-07-2012, 12:26 AM.Comment

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
From where I'm standing this is how I see it.
First and foremost hats off to the people that get their vc purchase to work.
I've purchased 3 and still haven't got any extra vc at all.
Also I'm guessing the only people complaining are people who play online and pwn newbies like myself who are learning how to play.
My career is slow, ungratifying and extremely hard to generate vc.
If I want to spend money to make a team that gives me a chance against veteran players then who are you to complain.
Do Milwaukee complain because the lakers have more money to offer players to get the better players etc? No.
Stop whining and get used to it. Millions more will be sold and used.
Now it just means all your games aren't gonna be simple.
Besides its not the attributes that make the player good.
If you can't control him then extra vc isn't gonna make a difference. We live in a world with smart phones and stupid peopleComment

24oct explained it well in a few posts above. Anyone that reads that post and still disagrees with the OP is simply either too close minded or rich to the point where money is irrelevant.Comment

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
i only agree with the buying of basic accessories are just plain dumb. standard bands, pads and gear shouldve been free.
spending real money (if you choose) on adidas and nike gear that gives you boosts i can agree with.Fear the BEARD!

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
No one is forcing any of you guys to spend your money to buy VC. It's your choice. They're are not forcing you to spend you VC on accessories. It's your choice. Yeah the basic gear should be free and you should be able to change it to any color, but it doesn't even cost that much.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
My Time > My Money. I'll buy whatever I want.
I find it funny people find it okay to spend countless hours unlocking things in Myplayer, yet complain about spending money on the very same thing.
Think about it. How much of that time can you get back....?
Now how much of that money can you get back? Anyone making a decent salary can get 10k VC in literally 10 minutes of work.
All you no lifers go get a damn job and STFU.Last edited by raiders81tim; 10-07-2012, 03:48 AM.Comment

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
i bought 20 bucks worth of vc, and don't regret it at all, the way i look at it, it could be a lot worse like hackers in the past 2k's. or you can put up with an option everyone has that is fair cause you are not exceeding rating caps, and get a shortcut to a better my player... if you can't beat em join em, and don't try to justify being a cheap a$$Comment

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please
Honestly, buying the game doesn't prove you're not cheap. $59.99 is nothing compared to the hundreds of hours you can get out of playing the gameComment
