This is one of the main problems I have. In MC I'm defending my man in the post, I don't need any help and the CPU controlled pg comes in and to double and reaches in and gets hit with a foul. I get tired of the opposing team being in the bonus 3and 4 minutes into a quarter. The CPU already gets hit with a ton of freaking blocking fouls because they can't draw charges where they're warranted.

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
Actually yes. As long as the CPU as 0 awareness as to when actually reach. If I'am defending the ball in the post, and I don't ask for a double team, it's the first quarter, I don't want a guy with one foul already to come and do some lazy reach that NEVER actually works just so I have to sub him out.
Or it's also pretty annoying when it puts the other team in the bonus in clutch time.
I personnaly reach 0% of the time when defending the ball, I don't want the CPU to do it. That's all.
You know that's made for the casual right?
I do not have the problem of doubling when I don't want them too. I do see the CPU reaching a tad bit much and thats do to the shotty tendencies (which can be corrected offline) in OAs you can correct it thru sliders as well. As for other modes, I agree it sucks when it happens, but like I said if the CPU was ripping peeps there would be no complaints.
LT trigger defense is intense D, I don't get how its "for casuals", its a legit control aspect or w/e you want to call it. Its wise to use it when pressing up on the ball handler."Most people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them"Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
This stuff is getting pathetic. First people say their CPU teammates don't do enough cause they don't switch right or they don't rebound or box out now they get upset cause they attempt steals every now and then. Truthfully I don't have that problem cause I play on ball D all the time, stop letting the CPU play the game for u and play the game yourselfIF U CAN'T BEAT ME LEGIT, CAN U ACTUALLY BEAT ME???Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
It's perfect now topic creator. Don't listen to the whiners. This is the best it's ever been, never change it.
Now if you could pass along that we want contact/warp dunking fixed, 5 player blacktop and a reduction on the ability for myplayers to have high rated stats in everything, this will be the best game ever.Comment

You know different people asks for different things? I've always hated the fact that the CPU would reach on its own and it's not something that came with the patch at all. Actually it already happend in 2K12. It's the first thing I turn to 0 when I play offline, obviously I can't do that online.
And that's funny because that happens when I actually play On ball D as I've said in my example wich you obviously didn't read. I'am defending the ball and the CPU comes and try to reach when I didn't ask for any help.
Next time you feel like posting please be at least kind enough to fully read the post you're answering to.
If you don't want auto double teams, make sure that you have set your defensive settings (double teams) to never for all players. Then also lower the coaching slider (double teams) down as well.

As for the LT thing well. There is an option under the controller configuration that turns ON or OFF the auto contest feature when using intense D so that when you press LT the game will auto contest shots for you. No timing is needed or anything. It's something I turned off instantly and I was pretty worried when tryeing the demo if we where actually gonna be able to turn that feature off or not.Last edited by Vni; 12-02-2012, 07:05 PM.Comment

Auto-Contest, I thought you were saying LT in general. Nevermind then, I don't use the auto contest feature as I like to do it myself."Most people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them"Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
Keep the fouls coming. U guys make a great game. Because of realism. I watch the NBA religiously and think the game models it darn near perfectly. The steal button spamming being toned down is one of the best improvements ever made followed closely by the 3pt tuning. Thank u so much. You have really improved the realism and gameplay. Keep up the great work.Comment

And? I like it's implementation. I could care less about the the Sim vs. Arcade label some of you are preoccupied with, nitpicking the game to death. I think if some of you had your way the game would be inaccessible to most.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
That was me, and I'm sorry you feel that way, because you've been missing out on a great game.
It's unfortunate that we never played online because I could have shown you how it's possible to play a balanced and efficient offense against steal "spamming," with intelligent ball movement, spacing, and tight dribble control.
Did you ever think to actually ask how to protect the ball in the post? All you needed to do is use the protect-ball animations mapped to the right stick, or the fake pass, or use an actual pass out and re-post.
Much of the fun of the game is seeing different unorthodox tactics, however silly they may seem, and adapting your own playstyle to combat them.
It's not quite as fun if the game forces everyone to play a certain way. NBA2K will still be a great game, since it still succeeds in most other areas, but its glory is a little dimmer with this patch. I would've welcomed a small increase, but the current foul frequency is excessive.
1. Pass it George Hill.
2. Chris Paul runs up to him, and begins swiping at the ball 2-4 times.
3. I execute a spin move to get pass Chris Paul, and I run towards half-court.
4. Chris Paul is behind me now, but he starts spamming across my back 2-4 times to try to get a steal from behind.
5. I make it across the line, and pass the ball to Paul George, because I'm sick of watching Chris Paul swipe constantly with no calls made.
6. I notice that he's still controlling Chris Paul as George Hill moves away from me, and he calls a 2-3 zone.
7. I call quick post play for David West, and I pass the ball to him.
8. He runs Chris Paul quickly to swipe at David West before I take the first dribble.
9. I pass the ball back to Paul George, and he's comes up to begin swiping at him now.
In this situation, I'm probably going to score on a fadeaway jumper with David West, shoot an open 3 with Paul George after a pump fake, or my opponent is going to get some lame steal animation which is going to lead to an easy fastbreak.
Regardless of the outcome, you're going to tell that Chris Paul should be allowed to do all that swiping with no consequences other than a possible easy two points if/when he's successful?Last edited by ksuttonjr76; 12-03-2012, 12:41 PM.Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
I like that it isn't as easy as it used to be. BUT when i have 95 steel MYCareer, and i am playing against a backup PG and he tries to do a ridiculous dribble move and i swipe i get called every single time. Or when Deandre Jordan has the ball down low i'd like to think i might be able to steal the ball from him once?Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
If it is a matter of leaving it where it is or changing it back to how it was I say leave it. I would much rather people get called more for reaching in than to have it like it was before where people could spam the steal button without being penalized.Comment

It's funny, the only people saying its perfect where it is are online players and people who probably never try to steal at all ie centers, power forwards and small forwards.
Most of the shooting guards are probably scoring guards and ball hogs.
The people who play defense properly, which DOESN'T mean spamming, and the people who try for an OCCASIONAL steal are the ones missing out on this.
All you online guys do realise that if it stays like this the online games will be less and less as people don't want to play insta foul games.
Mark my words, within a month the forums will be flooded with, I can't find a game online and are the servers down? Coz your game mode will end up null and void.We live in a world with smart phones and stupid peopleComment
