Re: why not use the blueprint from 2k11?

They built 2K12 off of 2K11 and 2K13 off of 2K12 so in theory 2K11 was sorta a blueprint. Every year they try to improve the game off of last years game.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Even if it hadn't it's still a cool misdirection move imo. Unfortunately some in the ultra-sim crowd won't accept certain things until they've seen it regularly on Sportscenter. Like certain Superman-type slams or 3-team trades. It's a videogame. Some of you are taking the Sim mentality way too literally imo. There are plenty of real life Wizards vs. Bobcats type games that aren't much fun to watch. I don't think those experiences always has to be an exact translation to a videogame.

Then again maybe this is another thing 2K11 was better at - "2K11's so Sim that there isn't a move in the game that hasn't been performed in a regular season game of 2011-2012" lol. Oh and the physics were perfect
I guess I get to determine the consensus for the sim crowd! YAY ME!

Why is it garbage? It's because you can pretty much pull it off with anyone once you figure out how to do it. Which is lame/garbage in my opinion that is all, not a big deal, I really could care less.

It has been pulled off in game before your right, maybe a handful of times from what I recall. Does that mean that we shouldn't be able to do it? No. Does it mean that we should be able to do it at will? Sure I guess. Still don't like it. Don't want to see it everytime down court. But whatever floats your boat (not you, in general) .

I do admit its a nifty move, have pulled it off a few times myself, but I don't look to do it though as I really don't like it.

I don't care about what is "sim" or not "sim", I just like playing basketball and when I play, I would like it to be realistic, that is all. I don't like highlight plays everytime down court. Yes those types of plays happen, its basketball. Also I can't really tell but I think your just trying to troll with those comments towards the end.

The only reason I'm still not playing 2k11 is because they took away the servers. Not cool.

The only reason I'm not playing 2K11 is because of the below:

My season froze after 2 and 1/2 full 82 games seasons played. I started a different association and after playing half the season, the game would not get past the opening screen(s) (team logos/start menu).

I was hesitant to pick up 2k13 based on comments, but I'm glad I got it on Black Friday. At first I thought 2k11 was better, but after only playing 8 games I love it.

My comments towards the end were intended to be sarcastic, given the thread title. I wasn't sure why the person posted the video of the move, as it didn't have any direct correlation to the thread itself. Unless he was saying "2K11 was so Sim it had no moves of this sort in the game". Or something to that effect.

Regarding the whole Sim or nothing argument... I probably just need to take a break from the forum as I see the perception of what's considered Sim becoming more and more restrictive and the need for some to make overstatements becoming more prevelant.

Cool cool, couldn't tell. I posted the move to answer foo's question to madman773, to me he was complaining about that animation, well thats the first one that popped in my head, we will have to await madman to see if I was correct.

<hr style="color:#393939; background-color:#393939" size="1">And whats up with that stupid And 1 mixtape ****n behind the back dribble? were the 2k devs drunk when they put that stupid **** in a sim basketball game?that fukn **** makes me mad every time i see it

Hasn't the 2k community always been divided about what's "sim" or "un-sim". Its also always been restrictive imo, people think what they want, I just play the game and like it to represent NBA basketball, not a Rucker Park game. Not that there is anything wrong with streetball, but its not the NBA.

Re: why not use the blueprint from 2k11?

The main problems with 2k11 were the post game, and some of the cheesy exploits (example being the spin dunk).

2k13's main problems are the lack of shot blocking (because there is no live ball or canamations), lack of contact in the paint and the generic ballhandling.

Gameplay wise give me the player movement, animations, ballhandling and paint contact on drives and layups/dunks of 2k11 (excluding the get dunked on canimation). The live ball of 2k12. The post game, shot stick, on ball defense, and playcalling/coaching options of 2k13.

Overrall I think that 2k12 is not nearly as good as the other 2 games. I hate exploits so I would say that 2k13 is a better human versus human game, it allows you to combat any attempted exploit a person uses, and you can get a realistic human versus human game. However, 2k11 is more fun and realistic when playing against the CPU.

Yes that is the animation Im talking about that has never been in 2k.If your going to put it in the game only give it to people who might do it in a gm.like Jamal Crawford or jr smith.2k is messing this gm up big time.

I've slowly came to this conclusion as well. I even started a Youtube channel with the intention of helping guys with 2k. Reading around this forum has really killed my desire to do what I set out for that channel. I don't know whats going on OS anymore.

I have no clue what OS NBA 2k guys consider 'sim' anymore - I have my definition and go with it.

FYI: The Spurs are one of the highest scroing teams in the league and have been that way for the last couple of years. They don't really 'grind' anymore and look to attack the jugular early and often.

people just love complaining about everything.i love how it has been mentioned a few times by the 2k13 and 2k12 haters that the game is aimed more at casual players now, whatever person is bragging about how easy 2k11 was is a casual gamer, if stats did all the work for you then every game against the cpu would be a kill if you had an elite team versus a bad team.2k13 has tougher controls to master to make you work for that win.i loved the liveball from 2k12 , it wasnt executed perfectly but i think it would have been better to improve it instead of removing it from 2k13.
i tried not touching anything when i was younger and ended up pissing all over myself.
