    Points In The Paint... What?

Seriously has 2K even acknowledged this as an issue? I decided to give their default rosters a go to get all the jerseys and what not but this is disgusting.

I'm the Knicks in a game against the Cavs right now. The Cavs have 50 points at the half.. 38 have been in the paint..

38 PiP.. At the half! What is this nonsense? Is this really all because of the default 2K rosters? Or is it just an overall game problem?

Its an overall issue and the Knicks dont rebound well as a team.

The only way to combat this issue is with custom rosters and extreme slider changes.

Night and Day between Beds Roster and the 2k's default. You see new animations and Lebron plays like Lebron with Beds'. Just an overall better game with custom rosters.

Here's a recent game I played on hall of fame setting with no changes in rosters or the simulation sliders. It was played on twelve minute quarters.

I guess what I want to point out, is that maybe there is a possibility your defense might need work rather than adjusting the game. You'll notice that the points in the paint wasn't the issue you described even though I lost this game.

                  This.

While I do agree that the CPU looks to take advantage of the paint too much, its not highly unrealistic, as any player/team looks to score the highest % shot they can, whether it be a dunk, lay or 3.

But it's not impossible to stop the CPU from scoring in the paint, learn to use the RS on defense and play good sound fundamental help defense as well.

I play fine defense, i'm nearly always in great position and I hardly ever jump to block shots in the paint. I always try and use the RS for D, but when the AI player just brushes off me, or pushes my guy back with absolutely no contact, it gets extremely annoying.

This has done nothing but confirm for me that 2Ks default rosters are trash.

Re: Points In The Paint... What?

A big problem is that lack of physics that occurs when a guy jumps for a layup or dunk with anybody and you jump to meet him with your 270 pound center and your center ends up flying backward with no effect on the little guy. Some of the physics animations work beautifully, but the straight on layups don't work at all.

The best way I know how to contain it is a defensive anchor, that really stiffens up the paint.

Well, I guess it's hard to convince someone even with evidence.

The box score I posted was with default rosters and simulation sliders out of the box and no changes on hall of fame level against the CPU (with a bunch of 70 plus rated guys. Granger was out when I played this in quick game against the CPU.)

The Knicks are one of the best teams in the game with I think four 80 plus rated guys. The Pacers are an average team with no great individual defenders. Hibbert's signature skill the Eraser seems like a joke.

I'd say the Cavs are better than the Raptors for sure but not enough to claim with complete certainty that the game is broken because you couldn't stop the CPU from scoring in the paint.

I know that it's easy to blame the game. All I am suggesting is that you consider for a moment that you could improve that's all. Why? Because the stats you gave confirm that your defense needs work when proof is given that shows your claim isn't a hundred percent true - especially when you are using an elite team like the Knicks against a team that really has one major threat, Irving.
