There is NOT an option for bank shot. It is purely done based on tendency that player has on doing such thing.

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
I actually kind of liked that the bank was switched to tendency this year. The push, then opposite push of the control stick to bring about a bank shot in 2K12 seemed like too much to do for too little of an altering in the result. As in, there didn't seem to be an advantage to banking jumpers in 2K aside from aesthetics, so I have little issue with the game moving to a tendency system where big bankers (Duncan) will do so on their own. It makes Duncan feel more unique when using him. I could always manually make him bank shots before, but I could manually make any player bank shots before. The tendency creates some signature separation between guys like Duncan and their peers.Comment

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
i actually prefer the new alley oop controls... its more intuitive = a pass at the basket
the old one was ok.. but too often if l2 wasnt held all the way down, you would end up in that fake pass animation
i do agree that the double tap fake pass control isnt that great... in tm up you can always tell who's new.. when they try to inbound lol
who really uses the fake pass anyway?Comment

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
Keep the pump fake with double tap but speed the animation up.
We should be able to choose a lob pass or bullet pass (tap for lob and hold bullet pass) just like NFL 2K5.
360 Pass controls:
double tap - pass fake
tap - lob pass
hold - faster pass
bounce pass and alley oops the same
If the defender is fronting the player we should be able to tap the pass button to lob it over the defender.True bout my business, Mane!Comment

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
I'm still not sure I could be in favor of retaining the double-tap fake pass command. I say this because, if I had to guess, the first tap is to initiate a normal pass, while the second tap is more or less just a cancelling of that pass animation already in motion. Therefore, I'm just not sure it'll ever look realistic or follow the rules of basketball. I think there's always going to be passing animations that lead a player to step in one direction or begin throwing his pass in a way that just wouldn't be able to be naturally cancelled.
Optimally, I feel like fake passes would need their own animations once again. Elsewise, there'll always be an ugly, disjointed, illegal feel to the passing game (or rather, the fake passing game).Comment

More options to passing speeds. I was watching the Knicks vs. Celtics game the other day. I was in awe how FAST they were throwing passes to each other around the perimeter. I mean like overhand bullet passes. Made me wish we had the option to throw passes like that in the game. And no, I'm not turning game speed above 55, as this greatly effects other areas of the game.
The A+B alley oop has to go. Too many untimely passes instead of the intended lob. I know LT + B is a dribble pull up now, but I don't know, ummmm...maybe change it back?!?!PS5Comment

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
The dribble stick.
It's pants. Seriously. It's jerky and doesn't look smooth at all. And we only have a few dribble moves at our disposal which are mapped to EVERY player in the game. There's no unique dribbling packages ala 2k12. I'd rather go back to that than use this clunky system. It's not felt natural to me since day one.
As I said, perhaps i'd feel differently if players had different packages to chose from. A little bit more individuality instead of D-Rose having the same crossover as say, Kobe Bryant.-----------------------------------------

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
You can do lob passes anywhere on the court already with the alley oop command.
So say your swinging the ball from wing to top-key to wing, with a defender in-between the last swing pass, the alley command will produce a lob pass from top-key to wing.
Alley command is not only for alleys, it will do a lob pass anywhere, try it out."Most people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them"Comment

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
The one thing that I screw up all the time is accidentally activating the "flop" control. I hope they take this completely out of the game next year. I'm very good at defense, yet I feel like a clown whenever this happens.
I also prefer the post-up controls from 2k12 over the "auto" posting that happens in 2k13.
I'd also like them to go back to the rebounding controls of 2k11; the current delay just makes very little sense for any offline play.Comment

Re: Controls that need to be changed in 2k14
I hope they do something about the paint ball, you should be able to hop step/spin/pump fake in the paint and either score or have 2k bail them out with a foul.
There should also be a select few players who can throw a self oop off the glass i hate when at times it's a two on one fast break and throw a oop to myself with the PG.Comment
