Till 2K goes uses a different route for updating the rosters by not using the 2KInsider the rosters will always be a kind of off. Once again I'm hoping that 2K incorporates a tracking/updating system like synergy to update the rosters, to give true to life tendencies, team play styles, playbooks and good attribute estimates.

I would imagine they have to lock the build once it goes into submissions,

The fact that Blake Griffin's mid-range is higher than Anthony Davis' mids sickens me. Davis didn't get 1 update this whole season and is a much better shooter than Griffin. You can't even consistently hit a mid with Davis on 2k13. That's pathetic 2k.

Wow, SOME people here are soooo, what's the PC word I'm looking for, senseless.
The roster is correct as of 3rd August each year, LIKE THE START UP SCREEN, THE BOX and the MANUAL says.
After this date the game goes into TESTING, and if needed, adjusting.

There is usually a roster update in the first week of release anyway.

              Use common sense guys, seriously

Their Roster updates are horrible anyways. Josh Smith made 36.2% of his mid-range shots(which is terrible) last season(2011-2012) but yet 2k decides to give him a mid range rating in the mid 80s....

Ok so he shoots 36% for the season.
What percentage were guarded, open, intense d etcetc.
And of the open shots what was his fg%?
If he's great while open then that's why he gets his rating.
The 2k devs do extensive research all year round for it, they don't just go "oh yer lets make him about an 85 from mid"
If he has that rating there's a reason for it.

Translating to the game is he outrageous while guarded from mid?
                  Great from open shots?

In my personal opinion Lebron is overrated.
Without a pick and a clear path he's useless, just from what I've seen.

Kobe has ball handling, 1on1, high iq etc etc and deserves his rating.

Lebron just doesn't have the 1on1 skills to have the name king james, his team does most of the work.
If it wasn't for Ray Allen the spurs would of had game 6 and if it wasn't for bosch's blocks they would of lost overtime of game 6.

Lebron is just a good player made great by fans and a supporting cast.
Should be around a 92ovr IMO

Before you start to generalise and call people senseless you should learn to read and see that it is exactly 2k who disregard common sense. Common sense would say that the rosters are in fact accurate as of 3rd of august, but in reality this has not been the case. Even when players are signed. Roster updates are poorly done, sometimes just one player added in FA rather than get the 2nd round rookies on their teams. 2k has never had the roster right at any point in time.

The rosters out of the box with 2K are as accurate as you can get given their early August deadline.

2K has no excuses, here are a few players signing before August.

                          7/11/2012

New York signed guard James White

                          7/11/2012

Detroit signed forward Kyle Singler to a multiyear contract.

                          7/14/2012

Detroit signed center Vyacheslav Kravtsov to a multiyear contract.

                          7/24/2012

New York signed guard Pablo Prigioni

2K should release the game 2 weeks (OCT 15th) before the season opener to get the roster right and fix some of the glitches or gaming issues.

Do you even watch the Heat play during the regular season
Did you even see what he did to the Spurs in the 3rd and 4th? Tre Allen did hit that shot but great teams win championships.

Kobe is a better ball handler but LBJ is a better all around player that makes his teammates better.

Yes, I saw the brick in game 6, followed by a lucky second shot.
I also saw closer to the end another brick from him, the scoop up from ray Allen and the REAL clutch shot of the game by ray allen.

Lebron is a name, that's all. Fans and band wagoners can hate me, don't care, he's hardly clutch.

                                Kobe 99.
Look, if bron gets passed to in the paint his vertical and reach can slam over someone.
                                Hardly greatness, just physically gifted.

When you can out dribble a man, and the next, then penetrate and dunk all by yourself, like Kobe, then you're worthy of that 99.
Lebron needs tweaking down, hell he even got beat by a 15yo 1on1 on the blacktop!
