Pacers arrive in Philadelphia to try and close out series
The Indiana Pacers arrived in Philadelphia this morning for game 5. Indiana leads the best of seven series 3-1. It's a must win situation for the Sixers who have their backs against the wall.
The Pacers won the first two games both in Philadelphia so it doesn't look good for the Sixers.
C2K doesn't take the Sixers lightly.
"Everydayis2K is a relentless competitor and we know he will have his sqaud ready to play. They will be even tougher today I am sure."

Sixers stave off elimination, force game 6 behind Richardsons 23 points
Philadelphia came ready to play in game 5 forcing a trip back to Indiana. They got to a hot start from the beginning and the Pacers had to claw back in it. By half time the Pacers had taken the lead on a smart two for one opportunity that led to a Granger three at the end of the half to take the lead.
The game was a battle for the paint after that. The game turned on turnovers particularly one when the score was around 69-69 when the Sixers fouled Indiana in the backcourt. Indiana called timeout and came back in only to be whistled for a controversial 8 second call which led to the ejection of C2K who was livid at the call.
After that Philadelphia took control behind a hot Richardson who was scorching behind the line hitting 5-6.
Paul George was Indiana's leader and he had helped bring them back in it scoring all over the court but good adjustments neutralized him in the fourth and the Pacers couldn't compete for the victory.
Good game Kev. See you in Indy!

Video of call that led to C2K ejection
I guess I didn't call timeout in this situation but here is the odd 8 second call in our game.

Alot of people say Kev (everydayis2k) can only score in the paint and can't shoot the three but here's an old interview I dug up with Kev where he talks about that.

Re: The Best Of Seven Series Vs Another User
For game 6, I decided to upload the raw game footage in it's entirety for those of you who would like to see a full game.
Game 6 was a nail biter!
Play of the game on my end was the Orlando Johnson dunk at the 8 or 9 minute mark of the 4th.
Good game Kev!

Re: The Best Of Seven Series Vs Another User
Pacers close out series against tough Sixers squad
INDIANAPOLIS The Pacers came back to Indy after a tough loss in game 5 vs the Everydayis2k Sixers. Technical problems forced two or three restarts until finally we were able to get through game 5.
Both teams battled hard and the game wasn't decided until the last possession. Roy Hibbert redeemed his missed layup in game 3 to score the go ahead basket in the final game of the series. Richardson had a chance to tie the game and send it to overtime but he wasn't able to finish an inside basket.
The third quarter was pivotal as Indiana hit 10 of the first 11 shots of the quarter and 71 percent for the period. Even still, they couldn't pull away and take control of the game.
Overall it was a great series and Kev was super tough to beat. Great game Kev and great series.
THE SCOUTING REPORT ON EVERYDAYIS2K
Those that play Kev can tell you that he is extremely challenging to face and beating him is no easy assignment.
Kev is a relentless competitor and does an incredible job on offense of getting the ball into the take charge circle with no one in between him and the basket. He can and will get it in there, every possession if you let him and he will score. I know from past experience, he can shoot 65 percent on you easily if you can't defend and get double digit dunks. The thing about giving up dunks is that they swing the tide of momentum and make it harder for you to execute.
WHAT I LEARNED IN THIS SERIES
I hadn't played much with the Pacers lately as a team spending the last month and a half or so playing team up with my group. So to prepare for the series, I used quick match and a couple of games against guys I knew would defend well including jersey who coincidentally used the sixers which was a huge plus for me.
I took a look at the roster of the sixers some and knew that Bynum would get to the basket and get his and knew he would defend the paint pretty well. Jason Richardson as expected knocked down the three when I left him open. I wasn't quite ready for Nick Young hitting from midrange and some of the other guys who could finish extremely well at the basket.
My goal going in was to sag off and make sure I stayed in front of my man. If you watch some of the videos I posted with this thread, you'll notice that my main goal on defense was to keep my guy between my man and the basket. This is by far the most important tip I can give anyone about playing defense. Draw an imaginary line between the ball and the basket and get on that line. When you do that, you get stops. A step out of position and the rest of your team is too.
On offense, I worked several different angles during the series. I had to come up with several different ways to manufacture offense. In game six, I used the high screen in roll a lot in that game because that was getting me what I needed.
But overall, for anyone looking to play well, you've got to know how to use everyone on your team. Even Lance Stephenson hit several key buckets in game 6, Orlando had a huge dunk in the same game to give me some momentum and when the bigs got in foul trouble, Jeff Pendergraph came in and played well enough to get me through it.
As far as adjustments go, I am pretty stubborn. I don't like to make them. In fact in game one and two, I am pretty sure that I played on default the whole way through.
In game three, my team was a step slow and I couldn't defend as well and I opted for locking down the paint on occasion.
Kev on his side made a few changes of his own. In game four, I think it was, he benched Ivie who I was surprised had been playing anyway.
And he made another key adjustment during the series and that was to adjust his defensive assist. I usually play with mine at default which I think is zero (but might be 50) but could tell that after he made that change it was a lot tougher to score and I had to start working different aspects of the offense and when the series was done, I had explored scoring options with about 7 or 8 guys on offense.
In the end though, Kev will probably agree, when two guys that want to win play, and play more than six hours against each other, that the main key ingredient is focus on each and every possession.
Tough series Kev. Good job. Here are the box scores from the game 6 we played.

I've lined up my next series against PSN alabamarob who will be using the Detroit Pistons.
In my last series I knew my opponent pretty well but I've only played Arob once and I think he got me at the very end and he might have used the Hawks but I can't remember.
In any case, it's a clean slate and its a new team with a new roster. What we have done is set up his Pistons and my Pacers with their new players after the post season trades (minus the rooks).
That means his roster will be:
Jennings
Singler
Josh
Monroe
Drummond
Bench
Bynum
Billups
Stuckey
Jerebko
Charlie V
I'll retain my starters from last year but have some changes on the bench:
Hill
George
Granger
West
Hibbert
Bench
Watson
Stephenson
Johnson
Scola
Copeland
Sloan
Mahinmi
Young
He's missing a few more rookies than me but I certainly lose some power off the bench in Green from a momentum standpoint. The other factor is that since I'm older it usually takes me all year to learn my players lol.
Arob will tell you he is old but he is under 40 so I still got veteran status on him at 46 years old (who is older than C2K and still plays so prob know one can use the old card against me lol).
He will have a few more days practice time than me with his lineup although I did get one game in.
From my memory Arob is a good player. Seems patient and is solid on defense. In order to win this series, I'll have to be crafty and plan on putting in my own playbook rather than the default book I used against Kev. Putting in a new offense with new players might cause me problems.
I expect the crowd to be a factor in Detroit. I hate that building. They cheer when the wind blows.
Series format since the Pistons are an eastern conference squad will be 2-2-1-1-1. I'll get the home court in this series even though its not a huge advantage for us.
Games settings HOF sim sliders and 12 min quarters as is standard.
We hope to kick off the series Wednesday night.
Good luck Alabamarob!Last edited by Coach2K; 08-13-2013, 05:54 PM.For MyNBA, MyLeague & MyGM content, follow Coach2K on X by clicking here.

Pacers hold home court in game one vs Pistons to take 1-0 series lead
INDIANAPOLIS Alabamarob brought his new look Pistons to Indianapolis to face C2K's revamped Pacers in game one of their best of seven series. Game one was a defensive struggle from the tip off with neither team breaking 20 points in the first quarter.
With the paint roped off with police tape by alabamarob, C2K went to work with Danny Granger who ended up with 36 points and player of the game honors.
If you didn't catch the original post, we are using our rosters for 2k14 minus the rookies.
This was a great game to open the series and I was fortunate to come out of this one with a win and I can tell this is going to be one tough series.
Great game Alabamarob! Here's the box scores from game one:

Re: The Best Of Seven Series Vs Another User
Danny Granger went human torch on me in game one. 87 points is not gonna get it done. Good defense by Coach. The series will come down to the matchup of Josh Smith versus Danny Granger. If Granger goes for 36 every game its gonna be tuff.
Came in to steal one game on the road, and I did that in game 2. Josh Smith put the mittens on Danny Granger in Game 2 and that was the difference. This series is gonna be a defensive battle, just like every other game I have ever played in 2k13.Last edited by alabamarob; 08-15-2013, 05:51 PM.Psn: Alabamarob
