A simple "We don't know for sure, and we can hold out hope, but I admit some of this evidence doesn't look good", or "I dont mind Blacktop Crew, but I understand others do" would go a long way towards constructive conversation about Crews. It was your many posts that continued to tell others what they should feel, like, do, accept, ignore, and believe contrary to mounting evidence that compelled me and many others to respond.

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5
if crew turns out to be
5on5
leaderboards
team logo and name
fouls (this was in the video)
simulation mode
timed
4 quarters
I'm good
the arena format would be nice, but those things don't actually make up the gameplay, it's presentation. people are worried about creating their own uniforms, but you and your squad could just as easily wear some NBA jerseys from the my player store.
biggest things from me that haven't been confirmed, are the actual rules of the game like 4 quarters, timed, fouls, etc. Those things seem like they could be tweaked pretty easily to appease crew fans ?Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5
Yet, you believe Crew could/will be 5v5 with arenas with absolutely no evidence. That seems self-contradictory and I'm not sure how that makes sense.
The safe "I'll believe it when i see it" bet seems to be that Crew will just be 5v5 Blacktop at best, because that's what everything we've seen and heard suggests.
The facts:
5v5 was started two weeks ago-- This is HUGE. Being familiar with game industry practices, dev cycles, and QA time needed for additions and changes, you generally CANNOT completely rebuild a game mode close to release, much less have it all completed in two weeks. Trying to do this and have it be proplery tested in such a short amount of time is nearly irresponsible in software development. 2K has never been one to take risks close to release.
Only 3v3 up to two weeks ago-- It means that 2k did NOT intend on implementing a full fledged 2K11 style crew mode for this year's release, and were interested in doing the least work necessary to sell "Crews" by redefining what "Crews" meant.
No word of Arenas/Jerseys/NBA rules from LD2k or Ronny-- In the very week they are promoting the "Return of Crew", they have avoided responding to questions related to the above. Ronny hyped Crews for a whole week, and 2K Marketing went through the effort to script, film, and produce a promotional video piece. Why would they do all that and NOT answer the biggest concern of folks who are interested in Crews? They could dispel all the angst and misgivings and accusations with one word. Yet they chose not to respond IN THE WEEK that they're trying to make the mode look a good as possible. I think both Chris and Ronny are smarter and more savvy at marketing than that. Notice how Beluba (who's not even in marketing) popped in from his busy schedule to allay our fears that in-paint contact wasn't addressed when it's one of the top 2 issues in 2K13? See how happily that thread has gone for the most part?
The facts don't *prove* that 5v5 will be Blacktop only. I never said they did. They merely heavily insinuate it will be Blacktop only.
Meanwhile there is *no* fact that suggests otherwise.
I'm going to go in the direction the facts are pointing into, vs. the unlikely polyanna view based on even less evidence.
"You don't know for sure" is not a trump card to support any and all clusions in the midst of varying degrees of certainty.
That fact is there are more facts for my conclusion than your opinion. They may not seem *conclusive* to you, and neither of us know for sure, but one is more likely than the other, and I prefer sticking to more likely conclusions than less likely ones.
And in the end, you have even less supporting evidence to continue a quixotic crusade to convince others that they shouldn't at all be worried or concerned.
A simple "We don't know for sure, and we can hold out hope, but I admit some of this evidence doesn't look good", or "I dont mind Blacktop Crew, but I understand others do" would go a long way towards constructive conversation about Crews. It was your many posts that continued to tell others what they should feel, like, do, accept, ignore, and believe contrary to mounting evidence that compelled me and many others to respond.Comment

The arena and jerseys would be just icing on the cake.Comment

As of the video they released the other day , at that point crew was only 3v3 with limited to no rules and a game to 21 . If the team up guys hadn't "cried and complain " like us "crewbies" have it would still be that garbage.
If we don't speak and let them know what we want and just accept what they give us, there will be no progressionComment

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5
That actually speaks volumes on how little they were orginally willing to commit to Crew on this generation.
I mean, it's like knowing for years that your girlfriend wants you to marry her, her finally hinting she's done waiting and has been flirting with a coworker -- then offering her a cigar band with a diamond drawn on it.
"But, but I only spent two days making this! See, I knew what you wanted! Bow before my thoughtfulness!"Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5
For some people on here no, and they could care less what venue it's played on or whether there is street clothes instead of jerseys. But for the die hard crew guys yea it definitely feels like a lesser mode"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael JordanComment
