Defense was good. As a result offense was really fun, because it felt like you had to work for your baskets. As opposed to now where it's mostly random. The game was skilled based, precise, and competitive.
It wasn't perfect but it was definitely a huge step forward...
...followed by 5 steps backwards with 2K12. We still haven't fully recovered from that disaster.Comment

I wouldnt go as far as to call it trash, but I didnt enjoy it near as much as some have. There was no off. reb., no FB pts, and sim stats were a mess with teams avg to many fouls, foul shots, and not enough team assists in Association. Also every player would play atleast 1 minute on the bench.
It did have some positives, like the D-League but those stats were even more of a joke than in the Association
Personally I'll take NBA2k14 over NBA2k11 anyday. JMO but NBA2k14 is by far the best gameplay ever in a Basketball game. I havent enjoyed a basketball game this much since CH2k8 and NBA2k8, cause those were the last 2 complete basketball games made, well on Xbox360 anyway PS3 they were complete junk unfortunately. I would still play those 2 games to htis day probably if it were not for having to have a PS3 for MLBTS, if I had a 360 still they would still get played.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

It did have problems but I would rather deal with the problems of 11 than the problems of 14. But uhhh.....
1. Like previous people said..... BALANCE. Stick skills really showed who could play and who couldn't. If you couldn't lock me down 1on1, it showed. If I couldn't get through your defense once again it showed.
2. The shot logic was fine tuned IMO....less contested 3s back to back to back went in. Open shots were better rewarded.
3. My player was a true grind and crew plus full court blacktop with 4 quarters were an added bonus to the grind.
4. Euro steps and hop steps were cheese BUT there were still variations to what you could do to score baskets. Isomotion made for some spectacular plays when done right even though a lot of people hated it.

I just ordered 2k11 from gamestop should be here by this weekend . I loved this game so much and for 360 it's one of the harder games to find in stores . So I'm glad I'm getting it back again .Comment

This is why 2k11 was so great.
The only thing i can criticize is when i make a fastbreak with jordan I didn't successed to find a solution to make a one hand dunk. Every time i make a 2 hands dunk. But that is the only black point. For the rest whaou what a game!!

Jesus you overdid the replay on the dunk in the bottom video.
It was an average dunk and you replayed it like 20 times!
Other than that nice video. I've never enjoyed a game as much as 2K11. Chris Smoove was also at his peak during this game.Comment

Sorry for this, but for me it was a good dunk. Each time i make an average dunk with Jordan, as long as it is a one hand dunk, i'm happy.
However the beginning of the video is interesting, and the end is completely missed.
I play with default slider (i have always been hating to modify slider since 2k7 and 2k9) and i play in HoF.
Firstly i created heat 96 and the first zo was better. For heat 97 i tried to improve him and finally he is less good.
But his free throw is excatly the same and his jumpshot too.
Tim hardaway is better too in my heat 96. But his face is excatly the same, his jumpshot too.
PJ Brown too lol. It is a great great job i did. Really hard and long. With auto save you have to wait his time you modify something .... I didn't take the time to change auto save OFF.
For lenard and mashburn it was more difficult to find how they played excatly.
I think my last playbook and tendancies were better but i didn't make video.
I created too knicks 97 (work in progress), celtics 95, magic 95 and 96 of course, and i began Lakers 97. But i don't think i will finish all those teams because it is too long.
I think it was easy to make pistons 96 and even 97. Possibilities was huge in 2k11.

1. The gameplay was pretty good.
2. Online was working well (lobbies, crew, online leagues)
3. The community page...You could look up stats from your online leagues (even more stats than showed ingame!)...You could even watch a live ticker of games played right at the moment!! That was so crazy.Comment

The only thing great about 2k11 now, key word now, was the lobbies.
But lets not forget the game had exploits and you all know what they were.
