Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Oh ok, I was asking because I know you can't equip certain accessories at the same time, but this doesn't apply with you.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
A few questions about MyCareer Attributes and their limits:
1. Does your height/weight affect your attribute caps or is it purely positional? i.e. will a 230 lb PG have a lower speed cap than a 190 lb?
1a. Does the your secondary position affect your caps? i.e. Will the caps of a SF/SG be different than a SF/PF?
2. Does anyone have a list of the attribute caps for all the positions? i.e. Attribute cap for PG Speed is 92, SG is x, SF is y, etc. (It doesn't need to be in depth, but key ones like speed, dunking, layup, 3pt and mid range would be awesome.)
-this is most important to me
3. Does gear such as calf sleeves allow you to go beyond the limit? i.e. Your vertical limit is 95 will a calf sleeve make it 97?
3a. Does doubling your gear give you double the boost? i.e. Your vertical limit is 95, does wearing two calf sleeves making it 99?
4. Does the style of player you choose affect your caps? i.e. Will a 3 point shooter style PG have a lower speed limit than a slasher?
5. Are there any other important criteria that affect a player's attributes and their limits that I am not considering?
I have been scouring the internet and been unable to find answers to a lot of these questions so if you guys could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
I can answer some of these for you, I do believe you weight affects your quickness, when making your player you will see your body type change at a certain number. Example PG body type with change @185 LBS same with SF@215LBS. I can vouch on the SF a 215 LBS moves differently than a 280 LBS SF with the same stats.
Your playing style will affect some stat caps. Most of your physical stats will be the same but scoring and passing will be the biggest differences. I can only vouch on the SF position. I haven't made any other players on 2k14.
Yes gear will allow you to stack points over the stat cap. Examples; 2 calf sleeves +4 or 2 arm sleeves +2 3point shot. Also different than 2k13, when using these gear items you will not see the bonus under attributes you will see it under my player. With that being said you will not have to pay the extra vc because you have gear bonuses.
I hope this helps. I would suggest playing scoring SF on this game. This year it seems like the Defense stats are over rated. You can steal or block without them. Rebounding and on the ball matters. But I prefer the extra points to put the ball in the hole. That's just me. Again I hope this helps.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Can someone give me some tips for playing defense as Athletic PG/SG? I've got offense figured out. I know how to score I know how to get assists. But defense...I'm useless, and my teammate grade is suffering. My guy is 6'5 217 so I can get blocks and rebounds...If I knew how. I don't seem to have a feel for "right place right time" if that makes sense.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
My advice that I have offered is pretend you catching a fly ball. First step is Always back. Try to keep your the player in front of you. Give them a little space so they can't blow by you but not to much where it would be an uncontested shot. Even if they hit the jumper over you if you contest the job you will still gain team grade (good shot defense) most of the time. Better for them to shot a contested jumper than drive past you for an easy two or possibly And-1. Also stay with your man if he doesn't have the ball. Playing good off the ball defense instead of trying to get a cheap rebound has a major advantage also. If your opponent can't get the ball he can't score. Stay on him like white on rice in a snow storm on a paper plate. Watch the screens.
I hope this helps. Best of luck!

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Go down ten in this mode? Might as well quit and restart because coach asks you to bring it within 5 and you get it to 6 only for them to go up ten in 2 possessions. Plus you never get subbed out. Don't bother with timeouts either, they always score again even after you set up a perfect wide open play, you'll brick and they'll get a fast break. Every *** **** time. Last but not least? They shot 57% from deep. They shot 56% from the floor to my 48% and 42% from deep. How do you come back on a team when they're hitting every shot it seems like?
Oh, it was the wizards. When did they get shooters?
Game is complete bs.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
No, I do not personally know all the factors involved, but I know it has a lot to do with performance. In my most recently created player I became a starter after the 6th or 7th game I believe. It was something similar to that in my other MyCareer as well.
Hope this helps!Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
For whatever reason YouTube is really letting me down in two regards.
1. Are there shoe boosts in this game like the old one? Are there any other boosts other than gear such as sleeves that boost your attributes?
2. Does anyone know of some good tutorial videos on advanced gameplay? Specifically, I do not mean advanced controls but rather suggestions or clips of how a player used specific control movements in games to help them?
Thanks!Comment
