Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread

Maybe I worded it too strong, I feel it doesn't do much and rebounding is more or less based on the attribute. I'll try it out later when I get enough VC and see if it helps out later on. I only did have level one though, maybe the other levels make it even better?
    What?

Maybe.. I wouldn't really know since I just stick with level 1 sigs but idk maybe I just happen to be in the right place to get the ball. I have noticed boxing out doesn't do jack anymore so I just run in and grab it

I realized when I focused more on positioning and boxing out, I got a lot more rebounds even without Tenacious Rebounder. I had two PF Careers: 1. Athletic 2. Faceup. On my Athletic PF, who has a higher vertical stat cap, I had 12.4 RPG with Tenacious Rebounder. On my Faceup PF, I have 14.7 RPG without Tenacious Rebounder. On both careers I played for OKC Thunder.

With a lot of these skills, to each his own, but I found that most of them are ineffective. Even Bruiser is counterproductive. Yes, it will drain energy from your opponent, but because you have to make so much contact, you'll drain your energy as well, just not as fast as your opponent. That's why for my PF, I always stick to Finisher, Gatorade, Brickwall, On-court Coach because they are very effective and consistent. The fifth skill is always is rotation based on which team I'm playing against. Post Proficiency is nice. Gotta love those pump fakes into post hook/lay-up, but as a Faceup PF, I'm not in the post too often.

True as well.. it really does depend in the player because I have the exact opposite issue lol I box out and position like I always have and my mark just jumps over me as I'm jumping and snatches the ball leaving me wondering how its not over the back! My pf is a faceup type as well so I can stretch the floor and I got rid of deadeye for post proficiency but I think next game I'll chuck tenacious rebounder for it and see how well I do.

Played a game against the spurs last night, apparently the brick wall skill works... I kinda tore Tim Duncan's labrum when he took a hard pick from me. Sadly I could not capitalize on them having to rotate their smaller and less skilled guys to play me

I played the spurs last night as well, minus Duncan and Parker. Patty Mills went off for 45. He couldn't miss from 3. I'm in season one with the sixers, we lost by 21.

Well I started over with my power forward (still miffed about that) I went through the showcase with the intention of going back to Milwaukee. Was interviewed by the jazz Celtics and 76ers and rejected all three, didn't get drafted by the bucks (for the third time) but this time I went to the cavs so I figured eh I'll play 5 games with them n then book it to the bucks. But after finishing my first game..they aren't bad it's nice having a skilled pg in kyrie who seemed to find me in the right spots. And having deng also helps. So I might stick with them and see how it goes! Now I just gotta rebuy all my gear in cavs colors :/

I wonder when you can request trades that the GM should make, currently on the bucks we have Ish Smith and I hate how he plays! I wanna assume it's around the end of the season or something but I'm not sure.

I'm in my 4th season (2nd with the Rockets) and right before the All-Star break it made me do it. I never went in and asked, the GM came to me.

The 4 players I picked were LeBron, Durant, JJ Redick, and Klay Thompson (the first two just to see if we could, Redick since he's my favorite player in the NBA, and Klay because 3's all day)...

We ended up trading Jeremy Lin + 2nd for Klay, which pleased me since I cannot stand Lin. He was absolutely terrible in every game for us. Constant turnovers and bombed shots. Thompson has been perfect.

This could happen to me in my first season I assume? I really need a better backup PG to Knight and a backup small forward since the bucks traded delfino to get me from minnesota.

I just got post proficiency and will be playing my first game with it today or tomorrow. After a few games I'll report back. If post proficiency doesn't work out and tenacious rebounder isn't missed, I'll probably save up again for Gatorade. If I find both useful, I'll probably get rid of bruiser.

Figured out how to use custom sliders in my career, and good lawd the gameplay is better. The CPU moves the ball more, rarely see shot clock cheese.

I replayed the Spurs, and had a incredible game. Went into OT, and won a sqeaker 118-116. Playing as a PF, I can't be too aggressive now that the sliders are adjusted. I had 4 fouls against the Spurs and fouled out the next game against the Rockets.

Can you post the set? I play on default sliders and deal with the shot clock cheese all the time, it would be nice to try some sliders for this game (I can't find any sets for the ps3).
