I have to admit, I got super lucky in the rookie showcase...
I made a 6Ft 3 PG - Athletic (for the speed and rebounding mainly).

I was drawing AND1's left right and center in the showcase, a few lucky boards, steals in the passing lane we're far too easy when they switched me to SG and my final stats ended up something like... 30 Points, 4 Assists, 3 Rebounds, 8 Steals, 2 TO, 3 Fouls.

Got interviewed by Orlando (2nd Pick) but got drafted 5th pick to the suns pretty happy with that. Even though 1st game i only had maybe 3 mins total and a pretty crappy performance. But I disagree completely with one of the comments above about this mode being worst than last year...

This is the best ive seen it for a few years easy! The isomotion im STILL getting used to after just mastering last years :/ but the gameplay for me is soo much smoother, and my opponents AI is actually much better, they don't hit EVERYTHING but their decisions are much better.

The only problem I have I think is on defence it feels like I just cant react quick enough to get to where I want I kinda have to assume where the opponent will be to 'meet him there' not too sure why. But still early in this mode for me - thing may change

So far so good.

is there an option to select the amount of games played per season, similarly to Association mode (i.e., 14, 29, 56 & 82 games)?

I think a lot of people forget that 2K14 is meant to be a Basketball simulation game, so if you're playing a MyCareer mode why would you want to play less games than a regulation season (especially when you have the option to only play 'Key Games' anyway... But for me the fun of it is playing every game, improving your player to be better and better each few games (with VC) and also don't play like an idiot and exploit the game haha, I like to play properly so that all the stats, season averages etc at the end of the season will be more comparable to a real life season in the NBA that way

People just want options. Not everyone has time to complete a 82 game season. Especially not multiple seasons of it. Being able to play only key games helps but really we need full control over which games we wanna sim and which we wanna play.

I'm playing all my games and about 15 games deep. This mode is getting repetitive and needs fixing. I need to see the CPU do something other then attack the paint and forcing up shots to get and 1's. They are shooting 3s but don't shoot midrange at all maybe you'll see 1 or 2 a game. I see no playing calling what so ever. When your bigs get the ball in the paint they miss miss miss, but the CPU's bigs make every damn thing. Everyone on my team (ATL) but Teague and Williams are shooting career low FG%. Every QT I look at the shot chart and it looks horrible because of the CPU not shooting mid.

Yeah that I also admit, this mode has always gotten repetitive in the previous 2K games also after a few weeks, nothing really spices up the mode, I think you should be able to actually control when you do charity events and stuff to boost your fan base or popularity, like play 1 vs 1 with a fan or NBA player something like that you know, even upgrading your house as you progress (Like Madden used to do), maybe have mini games where you can hit the gym and do a workout, bring back drills that actually increase what your doing (shooting drills increase shooting attributes) instead of crappy VC bonus but I'm sure everyone has their own ideas...

they just need something that you can work towards that make you want to play to reach that specific event, otherwise half-way through the season you end up bored and lose motivation to play (which is usually when i switch to MyTeam)..

That's actually a feature I preferred from EA :S maybe the only thing I preferred haha that you can choose when to sim and when to play a certain game. I don't know why 2K hadn't done that, a pretty silly move to be honest, couldn't be that hard to implement (keep the key games) but just make it so you can simulate whatever games you want and play whatever games you want, always found that rather silly.. maybe just me?

lolz I just noticed my 6'6 SG/SF is top 10 in blocks with 1.6BPG. My block rating is the worst on my team at 25. I have no reason to even touch the block attribute because by the end of the season or next season i'll lead the league in blocks.

I am actually starting to like this game. played a game earlier where we(raptors) were down 20 points 2 mins left in 3rd quarter and we end up making an epic comeback and win it with a buzzer beater 3 pointer from lowery. CPU actually changed the defense to zone during that time and we got a lot of stops. First time me experiencing a comeback in mycareer where I didnt just takeover. I am still a 72 overall big(I dont buy VC) and finished the game with 12 pts and 16 boards.

I do have gripes about AI on my team sagging off way too much on good 3 point shooters and rebounding still isn't right. I had 6 blocks in my first game and thought blocks might be overpowered but I didt get more than 4 after that, so I guess its balanced. had a sick chasedown block on a dunk attempt by Ibaka, It was beautiful.

What I really like are cpu adjustments with the defense when we are down and switching to zone also putting me(best defensively during the game) on Durant(best offensively during the game) for a stretch.

My trailblazers pissed me off well actually coach. He would sub me out with 3 mins left in 1st and bring me back in 2 mins left in 2nd. So most games we would be down 20+ by the time I came back in.

So I requested trade to bulls, clippers or thunder. Got traded to thunder. Can't wait to play with thunder.

So I got drafted to the 6ers and a few games before the all-star break I finally cracked the starting lineup. I'm averaging something like 14 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal as a 5'11" scoring PG.

Just played the rising stars game and I had my best game to date. Dropped 31 with 4 boards and 6 assists. I did have 8 turnovers though. I'm really a mess with the turnovers. When I play the games I usually get at least 3 every time. Been trying to upgrade my ball security and passing attributes, but I've still got the same problem.

anyone else with a SG/SF that's a shooter? Doesn't the game feel easy even with your lowly rated player? I have a 66 rated player and the last few games I scored 30pts a game and getting a lot of blocks. I feel like the best player on my team already but still play the 6th man role.

I've never really liked the coach's substitution pattern, but I just dealt with it.

But this beats all. I just saw the DUMBEST move I've seen from the coaching logic in all my years of playing my career/player!

I'm a full time starter (41 mins) playing on HOF/SIm pass first pg who has 35 pts and 11 assists, 5rebounds and 7 steals.

16 secs left in the game, we are up 3. COACH EMPTYS THE BENCH PULLING ALL HIS STARTERS! AND THE OTHER TEAM HAS POSSESSION!

I almost broke my controller at that. I was on a 5 game losing streak and was feeling good because we might break through and get that w.

Backups held on to win the game, but that's not the point. Even Popovich who loves his second unit wouldn't make a move like that. I hope that's the only time I see THAT crap!

After five games, me and the Timberwolves are sitting at 2-3 but we've played some tough teams to start off. For the shoe endorsement, I wanted to go with Nike but since I'll be restarting again with next-gen at Christmas, I decided to sign with Jordan Brand for the hell of it. Also, am I the only person that finds it hard to get assists? I'm a PG and I'm only averaging 3 APG so far.
