Well im not a 2K salesman and I agree with his post. The gameplay is better. If you and others dont believe it then theres nothing that can make you and the game isnt for you. End of story.

Ok I mostly play offline association. I've made adjustments detailed by the folks on this board & I've enjoyed each of the past versions of the game. Is the game worth it for someone playing offline? Are plays & tendencies so bad they can't be tweaked at all? I love the new animations & the passing but keep hearing how the CPU doesn't run plays. After making adjustments last year, the game played great to me. Guys got their touches , posted up when they should, they played pretty much according to form. Is this game good enough out of the box. I'm waiting a year on next gen because I've got plenty to play.

Ok I got the game today. The MAJOR thing I noticed right away is the game is set like an AND1 Demo in Tendencies. I DO like the fact you can REMOVE Sig Skills. Some of the things others have mentioned, Smarter AI, better D, not seeing them yet. Of course with 2k13 I Edited it a TON and i can say it plays ALOT better than 2k14 Out of Box. I will keep you guys posted as i dig deeper.

next gen version is the same exact price, and comes out in November. Which is a month away.

2K is not a game you play for only 2 months then your done with it, If you wait until the holiday season to get next gen 2k your still about 9-10 months away from NBA 2k15.

Skipping current gen isn't really that big of a deal

I love 2K14 for the simple fact that defense is so much fun to play. The new blocking system is legit. Lots of fun taking a guy like Westbrook and being a terror all over the court, coming over from the weak side and blocking a shot.

The fast breaks are also much improved. So much fun controlling miami in the open court. I'm very happy with this game, and I love the new controls. No more left and right trigger to do everything. For me the new controls were pretty easy to learn. And yes there are a lot of new animations. For these reasons nba 2k13 would be impossible for me to go back to after playing this.

Next gen looks amazing, but I'm not sold that gameplay wise it could be better than this at launch. Just my opinion. Very happy that I picked up this game.

I downloaded on ps3 because I don't plan on getting a ps4 till next year, I'm encouraged by what I've been hearing

If you had stuck with 2K11 like me and never played 2K12 or 2K13.


This game is an absolute must buy. Hands down a huge upgrade for me. Absolutely an incredible sports game.

So I'm guessing as a New NBA 2k player - don't even ask the last game i played LOL in basketball it wouldnt be all that bad getting this version - I did play 13, but that was briefly and I enjoyed it - but it wasn't my game LOL - so getting 14 as a first game in a while would be a good idea, because my next gen purchase probably wont be until next year sometime.

I don't understand how people preach gameplay and then don't see the vast upgrades in this game. Graphics are 2k13.5. That's it.

I didn't want to make a completely new thread so I just want to ask really quick, the last 2K I bought was 2K12 (it somehow got lost when I moved recently) so I'm playing 2K11. I only really play myplayer, offline association, and quick games... is 2K14 worth buying or should I just get 2K13? It's (2K14) on sale for black friday today, that's why I'm considering 2K14. Thanks.

If you actually played the game you would notice there is a difference between CG and NG the feel is completely different..

Just played at my friends house and it definitely the best basketball gameplay ever, by far. But the rest of it is stale as hell. There nothing else to do beyond quick games with friends or online play.

I suggest you rent it because it really is just a patched 2k13 with LBJ DLC mode.

Gameplay is a 9/10 though.

by far? not really, it hardly is even more different than 2k13 gameplay wise.

Well being in the same boat as you game wise and i would pick it up...i picked up 2k14 and some people say its 13.5 - but i didnt play 13 much but 14 is really fun i dont usually bash games unless they are really really bad - this is nowhere near bad - my only gripe and you will find out if you play my career is that your team mates defense is TERRIBLE! LOL - you will feel like the guy playing with dudes who can't play hahaha - but its entertaining and a good game thats my opinion - i do love the animations and 100's of 1000's of shot varieties.

I got 13 for 8 bucks used on Gamefly. This new BF price is/was 35 bucks. From all I am reading I don't think it is worth the upgrade for current gen.
