Personally, they need take out the damn signature skills. Superstars were already superstars with just the ratings alone. Role players could be role players if you KNEW your team. Who in the h*ll complained that players didn't play like themselves in NBA 2K11 and 2K12?

Right now, I'm just going to wait for the future patch. Ironic enough, I started playing NBA 2K13 again, and it's really not that bad of a game compared to NBA 2K14. At least, I can hit open jumpers when they're given to me.

I like them even though some can be corny. It adds individualism to the players. I actually wish other games would use sig skills...like MLB The Show, NHL, and Madden/NCAA. Playing NCAA just feels so generic and when I was playing NCAA Ultimate Team..the historics didn't feel different at all since there are only 3 ratings that matter for QB's. Pass Accuracy, Pass Power, and Speed. Unless 2k adds more attributes to separate the players' ability then they need something like Sig Skills to add more variety or else a lot of role players feel the same.

It feels like people are complaining about the details, while there are some fundamental flaws.

Defense SHOULD be easy in a basketball game. Otherwise there's no point in having a good offense, and the entire game is worthless.

1- Contested shots should usually miss. I don't care how realistic it is, it's a matter of good gameplay. Contested shots going in make the game stupid. The skill of the video game player should be what matters.

2- Players should never have an easy way to the basket. By default, they should be stopped. I don't care if it's Lebron or Tony Parker, I don't care if it's unrealistic, if players can get to the basket easily the whole game falls flat.

People should realize that blocks and steals are an incredibly small part of what makes defense. Defense is mostly about denying good positions, and contesting shots. As long as that isn't fixed, the game will be bad.

All of you complaining about unrealistic shots going in on a casual game quick match level? Get some friends and start a HOF sim league or lockerroom games so you can experience how the game is supposed to be. STOP PLAYING QUICK MATCHES

Also , the shot meter needs to be removed from the game. People are fooling themselves thinking "green" equals excellent shot. People don't even take in account position on Court, whether its a catch and shoot situation or player consistency. You guys aren't seeing the big picture and learning correct shot releases. 2k13 got you guys fooled and I am glad jumpshooting is finally realistic

Im starting to think contested shots are part of the game. People hit them in real life. At this point ive accepted the fact that those will drop from time to time.

But contact shots are a problem.

People are fooling themselves thinking "green" equals excellent shot. People don't even take in account position on Court, whether its a catch and shoot situation or player consistency.You guys aren't seeing the big picture and learning correct shot releases.

and yes, "green" does equal excellent shot. "excellent" refers to your release timing...and the letter grade, like "A+," refers to how open you are and whether it's in that player's range (the "quality" of the shot selection). so, if you get an "excellent" on your shot release, and an "A+" on your shot selection quality, then, yes, that DOES equal an excellent shot.

I haven't been in school for a while, but last i checked, "excellent" and "A+" meant excellent.

Please, don't give 2k a pass cause it's quick match. I'm a married grown man, with 2 kid, working and running a biz. Don't have time to make a whole bunch of friends and play the game the way it suppose to be. 2k should make sure the game plays like Basketball cause that why we spend our money to experience. Give sim players lobbies then instead force us to play clowns running around playing stupid ball.

IDK what people expect. This is how the majority of people online play the game, nothing is going to change that. You don't think cheese players would make their way to sim lobbies just because they can? No matter how this game is made, you're going to get people playing basketball in a ridiculous way online.

Either deal with it, adjust and beat them, or don't play online. Because news flash, no matter what sports game you play online, there will always be cheesers, always be people exploiting something.

my main issue is playing stupid ppl. by that i mean players that use the entire timeout to get you to quit or lag once they are down and on defense, and of course the rage quitters.

Does anyone feel like online is just not worth it this year? FYI I'm not complaining because "I suck", my record is currently 4-0 in quick match and 18-1 in MyTeam so it's not like I'm doing much worse than last year. But every opponent I play is a full on cheeser trying to draw fouls in the backcourt, steal the ball from inbounds, try to constantly steal the ball and play the most obvious full turbo offense which either ends with a pass through my big man to his big man and a ridiculous foul or he gets a layup with the point guard.

The reason I'm not having fun is that I actually have to concentrate to beat these tactics this year. Last season if someone played like this I could easily get a double digit lead and have them quit but this year the games stay close. Everything just feels less responsive. And it seems everything in the paint either goes in or gets a foul call.

Might just start playing the Heat rather than using the 8 team rotation I've been planning to use. Only played 4 games so used just 4 teams for now but still.
