Oh I forgot to mention the ridiculous blocked shots. Give me a break. When was the last time you saw somebody just jump up and block a 3 point attempt? Guys blocking jump shots from behind after you beat them off the dribble. Guys flying in from off screen to block shots and pick off passes. I refuse to play that way so I guess Im just not going to play quick matches. Are there any other options for just playing a quick game online?

They have instituted the same AI error inducing crap that makes you want to tear your hair out. From inaccurate five feet passes to weird animations after a rebound that makes you go out of bounds, it'll frustrate the hell out of you.

Wow, I started the discussion a while back nice to see it still has life. Lol. So let me give an update on how my 2k14 experience has been going. I have almost totally given up playing quick matches, instead I set up games in my locker-room on HOF, Sim, 5 min and for the most part its been pretty good. The game plays best under those settings. Dumb stuff still happens but the good totally out weights the bad. Since shooting percentages are lowered, defense is really playable but still beatable if you play right. Whatever settings 2k has quick matches on is complete garbage. The locker-room ability to save names is a saving grace for 2k14. It may take a while to find someone to play but is worth the wait.

so bad that I bought 2k11. That is ten times as hard on pro, and myplayer, my goodness, is actually difficult! Lol. Dunks aren't cheese, rebounding isn't cheese. Open shots aren't broken. Blocks aren't broken... Amazing!

I hate that online play dudes just spam the X button (360) when you try and start a play. I ref high school basketball and these online players are worse than refing a girls game, just constant slapping at the ball.... not enough reach in fouls called.

I registered JUST to complain about this ****. Lol. I've never played any other online game before, so it's my first experience with it.. on the PS3. I honestly think I'm a very good NBA 2K player, but online gets in the way of the competition. I feel like I'm playing against the CPU and the opponent. It's exciting to think about playing online, and then I'm seriously frustrated to the point where I want to chuck the game out the window by half time. One of three things happen. You build a nice lead.. the other team comes back furiously.. Sometimes you can stop them, sometimes ya just can't. It's getting worse and worse. I thought the whole point was to let the players duke it out. Pathetic, sorry *** NBA 2K players that I know I can beat are getting wins on me. My record is crappy because I refuse to sit back and watch Ricky Rubio float a pass and let Paul George pick it off.. THAT DOESN"T HAPPEN!! He's the best passer in the game, but he can't make a hard chest pass the way I want him to online smh. I love playing with Minnesota, but when the game is running slow, it's pretty much an L. Can't get any offensive tempo, my players have no energy.. and don't let the other team get a lead.. then the shots don't go down, the players stop cutting. It's just a nightmare to play this game online.

I will start a quick match, but as soon as I see someone play one against five I quit. I was the Pacers, and this dude had OKC last night...he didn't shoot with anyone else BUT KD! I double teamed and still couldn't stop him making shots. He would go into layup animations above the FT line and draw fouls every time with 3 or 4 guys in the paint.


His record was really good and I see why now. I can't play people who don't even attempt to play some form of basketball. I ended up quitting mid way through the second quarter. KD shot around 25 times by then with some free throws.

I started a quick match, saw who I was matched with. Backed out when I saw he was gonna get OKC. I invited him to a locker room and played him on Superstar Sim settings...yeah, I beat his *** and he quit soon after halftime lol.

I really don't understand how people can defend this game.

Fact number 1: it doesn't have anything to do with basketball.

Fact number 2: it's not good gameplay.

The thing that's fun about basketball is getting good shots, and stopping your opponent from getting good shots. Those concepts are entirely absent from 2K14. All we're left with is random crap, a shallow game that punishes you every time you try to look for depth.

So... what is this game supposed to be good at? Someone please help me understand.

You are so exactly right! There is absolutely zero consistency in this game. Random crap as you say, there lies the problem.

But if anybody reads this im wondering if you can help. Me and my friend are trying to play each other online on Nba 2k14, xbox 360. It says "session does not exist everytime one of each other tries to join each other. But both our NAT: types are OPEN. so kinda need help or a solution!!

KD is just a damn handful to stop. I threw EVERYTHING at him he was scoring at will and racking up free throws regardless.
