Does anyone else run into these problems online?
When using a scrub team, T wolves or Kings for example, on defensive rebounds players just stand there. I had 2 players a the freethrow line staring at the rim as the ball bounced of the court. Yet if I had Miami or Chicago the players react to a missed shot.

Also I like to play uptempo and hustle up the court so that you cant set up your offball D. I find when Im the away team, after made buckets, it takes longer to inbound than at home. Anyone else feel that way?

Does anyone feel like online is just not worth it this year? FYI I'm not complaining because "I suck", my record is currently 4-0 in quick match and 18-1 in MyTeam so it's not like I'm doing much worse than last year. But every opponent I play is a full on cheeser trying to draw fouls in the backcourt, steal the ball from inbounds, try to constantly steal the ball and play the most obvious full turbo offense which either ends with a pass through my big man to his big man and a ridiculous foul or he gets a layup with the point guard.

The reason I'm not having fun is that I actually have to concentrate to beat these tactics this year. Last season if someone played like this I could easily get a double digit lead and have them quit but this year the games stay close. Everything just feels less responsive. And it seems everything in the paint either goes in or gets a foul call.

Might just start playing the Heat rather than using the 8 team rotation I've been planning to use. Only played 4 games so used just 4 teams for now but still.

I think the online is amazing....

Of course you have the 12 year olds who try to draw charges in the backcourt or they reach like crazy or they bring double teams all game. So what? I score on it all day! Online is fun because you have to adjust game to game and offline simply cannot offer that variety and competition.

MyTeam is annoying at times, but when you finally get some good players it is fun.

Games are definitely getting better every year, but I still dream of the day we get LAG free online gaming

Seems like EA has figured out how to have no lag for years so I dont get why 2k is so far behind.

To each his own. Online can't offer anything remotely similair to realistic basketball.

I think online can offer something at least remotely similar to realistic basketball, it just seems to not be able to do so consistently unless one is a part of a league entirely comprised of human gamers who all share the same realistic gameplay vision.

I haven't had fun online since 2k11. 2k12 and 13 were just awful games online. 2k14 online plays very fair and clean. I haven't seen any cheese at all which is amazing, but the sliders aren't balanced as well as 2k11 was.

It's just too easy to hit jumpers. When hitting shots is so easy there's no balance and the game doesn't feel rewarding. It becomes a little boring and monotonous. Three pointers in particular cannot be super easy online because it takes fun away from other parts of the game.

My bad, I should have phrased it better. I mean in terms of quick matches etc. it is possible if you found a league completely made up of sim players.

i've had no problems with servers, i like to play for fun too. my record is 23-18 i think, but i hate ppl who play and take forever with timeouts and cheat lag. o and the 3's are ridiculous online.

No, Chicago defend and rebound a little too good, Miami is terrible at rebounding. I think Chicago in may ways could be the new cheese team to beat because it is crazy hard to score against them and Rose blows by everybody. I know some will disagree.

No, Chicago defend and rebound a little too good, Miami is terrible at rebounding. I think Chicago in may ways could be the new cheese team to beat because it is crazy hard to score against them and Rose blows by everybody. I know some will disagree.

They have 3 lockdown defenders in Gibson, Deng, and Butler. You also add in Hinrich and Noah, who are great defenders, and they are easily the best defensive team in the game.

I also feel like there is something different about running with weaker teams. I've been running with the Bucks for the past 10-15 games and sometimes when I'm on D, my players literally will not move when I'm controlling them. Like for instance, if I was beat off the dribble and I switch to help, the man I switched to will act like he is trying to move, but some invisible force is keeping him from getting where I need him to be. Same thing happens when I try to close out on a shooter. I just had to adjust by reading the offense and switching sooner.

These things didn't happen when I ran with Chicago and Denver though, which makes me believe its put there purposely to simulate the differences between good teams and bad teams. It just takes some adjustments, I think I'm like 11-3 with the Bucks online so far.

Ok so here is a little background on my 2k14 and basketball gaming experience. I got back into 2k after giving up on bball games back in 2001. My buddy had 2k13 and I got hooked. I bought 2k14 but didn't have a good internet connection and problems with my Xbox Live account I haven't been able to play online until today. I play offline everyday on HOF or Superstar.

To say that I am disappointed in online quick matches is a understatement. WOW. I have played 1.5 games and I can't take it anymore. These guys I play against are clearly trash players. One guy was 6-21 from 3 point land. Both guys just jacked up 3's like no tomorrow. I played the Heat int he first game and it seemed like just because it was the heat they made every important shot.

I was actually running an offense and slowing down the pace of the game but it didn't matter. The guy just spammed the steal and block buttons and it worked lmao. What a joke. KD was ice cold for some odd reason. When I say he was missing shots I mean like nobody within 10 feet of him because the guy attempted a lock as soon as he touched the ball. KD was 1-7 from 3 point land. Somehow he kept a lead off BS baskets and turnovers. I finally got the lead with 1 minute to go but no he has Wade and Lebron to come through with some BS crap with 3 defenders in their faces.

I know other people have experienced this crap. It's safe to say quick match is not playable for competitive gamers. My jaw dropped at a couple of plays that happened. In the second game I went on a nice run took the lead and pressed start to get somes subs going. All of a sudden some message pops up and the guy quits but it gives me a loss! What gives???

Is this the norm? Am i doing something wrong? What are the settings for the quick matches? Is it user timing or player percentage when it comes to shooting? I mean these guys were jacking up threes from near half court and get the lucky bounce for a second chance point. The random turnovers, spamming block/steal? I can't bring myself to play that way but maybe this is a case of if you can't beat them join them.
