I feel you, but my dude to say maybe this or that is crazy. Why not add it this year. Why experiment. Why say next year. We have My GM with multiple team control. It's the same as The other game company. It just seems like non sense. I don't mind bcuz I use one team, but for the rest of youz it's funny. 2k always seemed like a forward thinking company. They had expansion teams in Baseball, then cut it, innovated with college and Football then cut it. I can see they're going for the mainstream money more than the worshippers. Ppl better wake up and put pressure on these ppl. Sooner one company will buy the other and we'll be forced to take what they give us. -

I get the feeling we have a classic case of...

So you can be GM of a team, get fired after All-Star break and have to hope you get picked up by another team? If not, then start over? It would suck not being able to see your team through an entire season.
I think My GM & My Player should be wrapped up in one mode and Association needs to be brought back for '15.PSN: xxplosive1984Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Ok, most of that actually sounded pretty cool to me. I only like controlling one team anyway. I just hope roles are fixed I remember in past 2k titles if you tried to have player roles you would have people constantly complaining and to be honest it got on my nerves and I just preferred it off after a while and never turned it back on. I haven't used them at all in the past few years. Hopefully, they aren't to much of a nuisance.
It looks to me like MYGM isn't player locked like I thought it might be and I'm very happy about that.
It also looks like you may still be able to do CPU vs CPU and watch your team rather than play as them (though I'm still not 100% sure about this yet) and I'm happy about that.
All in all, it looks pretty cool and sounds great I just hope that it all works properly and that we can still do cpu vs cpu.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats

Come on guys, this is NBA 2K, not Dark Souls, I doubt they will just fire you without ample warning about your screw-ups and not give the chance to fix themSo you can be GM of a team, get fired after All-Star break and have to hope you get picked up by another team? I want to see how it goes first; if everything works as advertised and you can still do cpu vs cpu and watch your team play (because I don't always have time to sit down and play a game; usually do half and half) then I really have no problem with this at this point. So you can be GM of a team, get fired after All-Star break and have to hope you get picked up by another team? Re: NBA 2K14: My GM Interview, Hands-On Impressions, More! (Next-Gen)
I only watched the video and didn't dive into the comments yet, but I can't wait to play this mode. The only thing I am not liking is it seems like you will not be able to edit players. I would be so upset if you can't.
I know you can only play as 1 user which sucks because sometimes I would play association with 2 of my cousins where we would create our player and put them on a bad team to try and build them into a powerhouse and player locked on our players when we would face each other. We also bet like dollars for whoever won the championship.
I think if that was still in it would've been awesome with having to deal w/ personalities and etc now. Would make us feel even more like GMs. Well, I am just hoping you can edit players like CG. A lot of people do different things in Association modes so leave most of the stuff we had. A lot of us like to edit players to our liking. Just think it's a bad idea to take away control from the user.

Re: NBA 2K14—My GM News, Exclusive Interview with Senior Producer Erick Boenisch
I sort feel the same way. Here's how I look at it. I am not an NBA player. I have never played collegiate basketball. I am still athletic enough to ball on the courts with my buddies. I will never ever ball on the same team with Lebron, Kobe, Durant, Curry, Kent Bazemore, and even NBA bench warmers. Creating a fictional me and pretend to go up against the leagues' elites, and I'm creating a fictional universe that will never happen.
Simulation, is simulating what could happen in real life. Me, in the NBA is never going to happen. In association mode, multiple season mode, franchise mode, controlling a real team like the Golden State Warriors is "real."
On that note however, I will most likely be playing the MyGM mode. I'll most likely create the real GSW's general manager and go from there.Last edited by strawberryshortcake; 10-24-2013, 07:19 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14—My GM News, Exclusive Interview with Senior Producer Erick Boenisch
I understand that, but for most people who play these games they always had this dream or idea to put a created character up against the best play out a scenario in there heads so it goes both ways. Me personally, I'm either way. I like that they have a career mode and I can make the next great one, and at the same time I want the sim and I'm the biggest "everything has to be right" person there is which is why to this point I've preferred Association. But, I wished 2k had SCEA basketball game's story elements with the gameplay it had an it seems I'm getting that.I sort feel the same way. Here's how I look at it. I am not an NBA player. The immersion will wear off if I see a bazillion idiotic trades an jersey numbers changing for no reason, but now I have a GM mode that incorporates some ideas that I've wanted for awhile to take the "old and bland" off association. I still need more info, but it seems like it's headed in the right direction to give all the modes a more well rounded feel to them instead of just screen, screen, screen, pop up, play basketball again.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14: My GM Interview, Hands-On Impressions, More! (Next-Gen)
Two things:
1. GM's hire the coaches so they do have some pull when it comes to that sort of thing
2. The mode only makes sense as MyGM not MyCoach. Do coaches make all the trades, and do contract negotiations? Nope, it's a GM that does that and if I remember correctly most of what happens in association is modeled after being a GM so....Comment
