Absolutely stunned. This is what Madden and FIFA failed to deliver. I have a hard time telling what's real and what's a video game. EA still looks cartoonish.Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning! -

Re: Next Gen NBA 2K14 Ecomotion Blog And Trailer
I honestly think people are being so close minded when it comes to Live. Some of the features Live is implementing sound great. Now if they follow through with them is yet to be seen. If and it's a BIG "if" Live gets their gameplay to catch up with the features, I'd say 2k would need to be on their heels. Either way, I'm getting both games because a change of pace is always needed.
I will buy live if it is worth me buying. I wont buy it for the sake of having it or because I like the commentary or for competition.
If its not better. Its just not.Comment

That's what im hoping comes along with these eco-motion improvements. AI is the most important aspect to me personally when it comes to sports games. MyPlayer needs sliders even if they do improve the AI. I think we should be able to edit our teammates tendencies in some way.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Eco-Motion Engine Video and Blog
Football's emotions is different then basketball. In football the emotions come from acrobatic catches, devastating hits, perfectly timed blocks, scrambling QB's ability to pin point pass on the run, RB's spinning out of the hands of defenders or stiffing arming them to the ground. All this stuff has been done before but the emotional part comes from the fluidity and natural look of it all and that's where Madden's biggest problems lye. Madden's jittery unnatural animations take you out of reality and reminds you it's just a game where as next gen NBA 2K14's animations are silky smooth and the transitional animations natural looking. Football"s emotions can not be expressed through facial animations because of helmets on the players but instead portrayed through the athleticism of the sport.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Eco-Motion Engine Video and Blog
...seriously, people either can't read or can't hear? I'll post it AGAIN.
From the video:
"For us on the gameplay side what that really means is making sure that these guys think, that they behave, that they act the way they do in real life."
"One of the main things you will see and feel right away is foot planting. Footwork is everything in basketball."
"Every animation can be altered and change to reflect what's happening within the game."
"we've got this new eco-motion engine that can drive so many different things. it's our rendering, its our AI, its our animations, its everything."
Just to make it easier, bolded for gameplay references.. This is not JUST graphics. No they didn't show you straight up 5 on 5 raw gameplay but to say there is no gameplay here is just ignorant.
This is a DIRECT quote from the vid:
We expect the graphics on any next gen system game to be spectacular, but moreso than anything else I think this year the first thing that hits them about our game is that they feel alive

Imagine this look on a players face walking back to the sideline after a fumble. Even with his helmet on.Comment

Footwork is pretty much the only thing you can take out of that and we already know about this for months now

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Eco-Motion Engine Video and Blog
I think the problem is that people are so distracted/mesmerized by the graphics that whenever a vid comes up showing any type of gameplay(even one that is strictly about HOW the game plays) they automatically assume it's all about graphics because that's what stands out most to them after watching. Seriously though watch this whole video again, there talking about nothing but gameplay for basically the whole video. They talk about graphics for like 10 seconds then jump back into talking about gameplay yet people are claiming that's all the video's about because it's stands out so much. Lol I think for any of there gameplay related vids to really come across is for them to have no in game visuals because it's so distracting to some.

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Eco-Motion Engine Video and Blog
Why are people so concerned about 2k's gameplay? I mean based off 2k track record their gameplay has always been pretty good. I think they are trying to leave it as a surprise. I think 2k knows what they are doing. There is no need to complain. I really can't wait for this game to come out so we all can go on with our lives.Last edited by midwestking100; 11-07-2013, 02:37 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Eco-Motion Engine Video and Blog
This is what happens with nitpicking everything; none of the game developers want to show anything at all because it'll be days of undressing a lot if hard work. You can't tell me you want to see gameplay just to marvel at it. Stuff like this is why you see no Madden, no Live, no 2k. Be lucky you see FIFA - they have little to fear. You'll see the Show because you don't have any other viable options. And don't say it's because they have something to hide. They all know nothing hides from the prying eyes of OS. They should all be gun shy by now regardless of the quality or status if their game.
It's just SO sad that a thread for such a well done and informative video devolves into yet another bitchfest. So tired of this. I avoid the Live forums because of this. Figured it'd be safe over here. Guess I was wrong.Comment
