This is what happens with nitpicking everything; none of the game developers want to show anything at all because it'll be days of undressing a lot if hard work. You can't tell me you want to see gameplay just to marvel at it. Stuff like this is why you see no Madden, no Live, no 2k. Be lucky you see FIFA - they have little to fear. You'll see the Show because you don't have any other viable options. And don't say it's because they have something to hide. They all know nothing hides from the prying eyes of OS. They should all be gun shy by now regardless of the quality or status if their game.

It's just SO sad that a thread for such a well done and informative video devolves into yet another bitchfest. So tired of this. I avoid the Live forums because of this. Figured it'd be safe over here. Guess I was wrong.
Exactly, I don't want gameplay, being a gamer long enough you can feel a game based on tidbits. I want to be saying wow while playing this game the first time.

I feel like some of you just want this game to not be as good as it's about to be. With every new groundbreaking feature they talk about. Whether it be the graphics, or the entirely brand new engine they built for next gen, some guys just can't help but want to see it fail.

Calling it fluff, useless features, etc. I guarantee these guys will be playing day one if they have a system, and whether they want to admit it or not they'll be blown away

I think these guys are hurt, let down by seeing a 2k logo. Do you honestly think EA will ever focus on emotions in a game? Their games feel robotic

I'm a huge fan of the presentation and immersion of the game but I have to agree. Where's the 5-on-5 gameplay? That's a deciding factor and no one is going to take 2K to task about 30-team control or access to editing rosters for other teams during your season? Customization is everything...
Whatever you do, don't give constructive criticism or say anything negative about Madden video games! It seems to be the equivalent of a felony...

Remember you are a 3rd party Dev 2K and its your job to push the envelope on all, I see a bunch of advertising for one platform... what happen to the days when we got screens/vids on both platforms? I hope this isn't a trend.

Well if it is a trend, it's a trend that the mighty Microsoft started. Microsoft's logo is all over EA's games. Hell, Sony had to get in there somewhere. Microsoft is trying to bully the market to overcompensate for their weaker system.

But in the case of NBA 2K14, the games should be pretty much identical of each other.

That's one way to look at it. Or they are praising the PS4 because they like it more. Microsoft seems to know their system's inferior limitations. I was watching a Shakedown2012 video yesterday. He said, the developers he talked to told him that (basically) Microsoft was strong arming devs to not embarrass the Xbox One. Microsoft was telling developers to not push the PS4's tech and don't put the Xbox One to shame.

This probably why 2K developers are happy to talk about the PS4. This says a lot coming from Shakedown, he was big Microsoft supporter, but I think he's getting a PS4 this go around.

Yes body language is key but my point was while that is true the limitations of wearing a helmet that hides the face you really need to go that extra step and be on point with your animations to not take you out of the immersion that reminds you your playing a game. Madden unfortunately has never been able to do that for me personally. The animations have never been smooth particularly in the transitional category.

I can't see how you can watch this video and not love what you see. No matter what side you're on this is a win-win for gamers.

                        THANK YOU 2K!!!!!!!!

I doubt it. MS has influence, but they don't have THAT power. In what way can they strong arm a third party?

With multiple consoles on the market, no way can these hardware makers can afford to convince someone to not develop for their hardware.

Dreamcast, PSP, PS Vita, Wii... Little to no third party support and dead. (Yes, the Wii sold a lot of units, but it was a failure - no third party support at all).

The developers are not going to spend more time on one console version than the other so, what he saying is BS. It didn't happen last gen and it wont happen now. Now if we see more third party games having to be scaled back on the xbox one, then there might be some truth to this. Every game wont run 1080 at 60fps on the PS4 either. xbox one exclusive Ryse runs at 900p at 30fps and it looks just as good as this NBA2K14 PS4 footage.

I saw (and played) Ryse in person and that was easily the best looking game. Looked better than Fifa, Forza, BF4. It looked silky smooth and the details were great. The Xbox One still displays things in 1080p but they just have to upscale it. Not sure how much that effects quality technically but the games still look great.

I really only check out IGN for gaming news and they changed their tune on Ryse after playing it. That E3 demo was wack and I thought for sure the game would be wack but it is actually pretty fun. It's got a Batman style of combat with the attack/counter system.
