The guy I'm playing just starts doing NOTHING but shooting contested 3's with Kevin Durant, to try and bring him back. Funny thing is, is that it worked. I **** you not, this guy made 5 CONTESTED *** 3's in a row. Literally. I had Paul George's hand in Kevin Durant's eye sockets on every contest, but no. 5 in a row contested garbage 3's to close out the 4th. I really could not believe it. So yea, I guess that's my roundabout way of saying, I think it's possible there could be a momentum system.

its deff real. dont tell me you've never had a lead then all of a sudden your team cant do the most simple tasks like catching a pass. its real and it happens quite often.

it's in the signature skills. the offensive ones are bit over powered, but you can stop these miraculous comebacks by using players on your roster with defensive stopper signature skills. etc.

nah, it really happens. ive played many games offline and online where ill be winning and my opponent will make a couple big buckets in a row, then all of a sudden my players will do the most stupid things like let a pass bounce right off their hands with no one around them. trust me, it does happen and it happens fairly often. its so cheesy and annoying.

Do you guys watch the NBA? Seems like all of you guys want to win each game by 25.

It has nothing to do with that, its about how it affects gameplay.

Seems like every sports game has this to where the opponents or CPU skill level will increase a level and you remain back.

The misnomer that the NBA2K franchise is suppose to mimick the NBA is such a repetitious farce and it's getting older-than-dirt. Video games are supposed to have some sort of logic; gamers discover the logic and successfully beat the game. This is not the case with NBA2K14. The AI dictates everything. I could be shooting 10 for 10 in one game on the blacktop, and go for 2-7 on the next. So in theory, there is no momentum swing, but to me, My Career and my team are penalized after winning so many games in a row. Can't shoot, can't rebound, turnovers galore, and fouls run amuck. After a loss, all the sudden my team starts to play again......or is the CPU penalized for my loss? IMHO, the game feels as if the AI is calculating the success rate of everything we do based upon RNGs within a specified range. Kinda like the sliders except if you get really lucky and land a number within the success range, a very late, heavily-covered, F-graded jumpshot can even go in. I don't see how any of what I just typed or any of the past 4 NBA2k games mimick the NBA.

PS - Even Microsoft programmers will try to tell you that their code isn't designed to certain things. Well I can say that they've been proven wrong. They're not willing to admit it until I show them proof of their ignorance.

2K has been a complete gimmick since 2K11.. Momentum swings and "sig skills" are used to help the garbage gamer compete with those who actually understand the NBA, real basketball, and the movements of the game...

So you're telling me because someone has a "scrapper" sig skill he'll grab the rebound over me when I have 3 defenders all in position that DONT have that same skill? A stupid sig skill shouldnt determine the success rate that my player will grab a rebound. If im boxing out and in position the timing of jumping up to the ball is what matters.

Thats only 1 example... The sig skills play too much of a role in the determination of what goes on on the court. As a result, my players are left without any actual AI intelligence.

The developers arent the ones actually out on the court playing the game, and understanding the flow and movements. They dont play basketball, or probably was never good at it.. They dont understand plays or court spacing, cutting to the basket, getting open etc.

What they do understand is people who dont understand bball want a game they can pick up and play, so they implement stupid skills to make them feel like theyre actually good at the game
