I had the same thing happen to me.Or when you stop the CPU for 20 points 1QT then the next they score about 30 to keep up with there 25 points per QT AVG .In all seriousness whenever I feel the CPU run coming or even user I do these things I'm about to list.Hopefully this helps some of you!

-Whenever they get the big "putback dunk" or the "offensive rebound and 1".Call an timeout don't wait call it as soon as it happens to stop the miny momentum.

-Never force it to your star players. If you have the Knicks and Melo is having an off game.Let's say 23 points for 6-20? Then JR Smith is having an big 30 point game keep going to the hot hand.Too many times when the momentum swing happens we find ourselves scrambling to find our star player regardless if there struggling or not.Use your struggling star as an decoy***n the offense threw him for the hot hand player.

-Don't get frustarted and make bone head plays.Example ever had an 8-0 run scored on you lead cut to 4 points then you have an fastbreak? 9/10 on the 2-1 fastbreak you'll throw an ally for an highlight play.Take the simple bounce pass instead or to the rack for the foul.Lay off the showboating because your frustrated.

-When the opposing team misses an shot late try to switch and grab the boards yourself! Too many times you'll say "Oh that's Dwight he got it".Then your kicking yourself in the foot when Robert Sacre gets an board over Dwight for an extra possesion. You have to do the little things to kill there momentum.

-Milk the clock at all times. In the NBA no lead is safe and the same bolds well on 2k.It's much easier for an team to comeback if your still launching 3's or forcing it to your star player to keep his scoring average up.Keep milking the clock taking quality shots.

-Make sure your players are rested as well.I play on 12 minutes so I know "Ok 4th QT I need to make sure Kobe is ready".Without your players being rested they'll start to do bone head plays.Such as let Mario Chalmers get rebounds over Pau Gasol, playing lazy on defense, more turnovers.Make sure you have an tight rotation threwout the game just in case they go on the momentum run.

Re: Comeback Feature/Momentum swings are making me throw this game into the dumpster

Played my older brother the other day. He always plays with the mavericks and I have to play decent to mediocre teams or he complains. I've had so many games where I'm the clippers or the pacers and even tho I'm setting my defense to pressure shooters he gets so many kick out 3's cuz he makes me play him on pro default so he can hit his 3's. I shot 14 3's to his 37 with the thunder and even tho I held him to 22% after the 3rd from deep he kept launching them and came back to win by one point because I had convinced him to finally play me on all-star simulation and wanted to see if his 3pt cheese would let him come back. He's the kind of guy who gets mad and tries to quit if I get a 2pt lead. I literally let him come back from 15 with 7 minutes to go and could have stifled him if I had set my d to focus on stars and double monta and Dirk but again, I wanted to prove a point to him. The 3 ball is so wacked on this game because there's no way an NBA team could have came back like that. I had the momentum the whole game and he just did the same thing over and over. If you deny the momentum cheese, you never have played this game.

yea this thing is defintely in the game. it usually starts in the 3QTR, online or offline. sometimes 2nd

i hate how 9 out of 10 times the cpu make clutch shots(around 2mins or below in 4QTR).
