GameSpot Gives Live a Better Review Than 2K3???

Okay guys...I have not played either one...but this stuff is starting to get on my nerves. I don't know which game to get. I used to love the Live series but the last couple years its been horrible. I have always loved the 2K series but now I am seeing stuff like Live getting better scores than 2K3? Live received a 8.5 and 2K3 got a 8.3??? Hold on now!!

I need to know from all you guys what do you guys think is the best game? I am wanting to get one but its hard to choose...almost harder than football was this year
I love the simulation of 2K but if Live has revived its game this year I might have to give it a try...HELP!!

Rent both for about a week or two and decide for yourself. I must admit, you'll have to learn the new way of controls on 2k3 first, but you shouldn't let anyone decide 4 u.

Also, I wouldn't rule out Inside Drive. They had, IMO, the best gameplay last year, and have fixed almost all of the problems (lack of Franchise, sliders now to cut down on blocks, etc). I'm gonna give it a try again. My Gamestop said that they will be selling it on the 16th.

Also keep in mind that you should take the reviews with a grain of salt. For me, I personally hold ign and EGM in higher regard than I do Gamespot ever sincde they gave WSB a bad review and everyone else gave it great ratings. Just play them yourself

Well you shouldn't pay any attention to gamespot's reviews. The guys are getting paid by EA what did you expect? The gamespot site is full of nba live 2003 advertisements so if the gamespot reviewer gives it a bad grade no more money. It's quite simple!Personally I only bought nba 2k3 and I'm quite satisfied with it.I am not interested in nba live 2003 because from what I've read in the previews it's an unrealistic arcade game with a very weak franchise mode.

lol. no one is getting paid by ea!! those same ads are all over ign as well....and how can you trust ign at all, they gave blinx an 8/8 for the most recent example, myst a 2.0, and of course there most infamous raw review. overall there reviews have lost a lot of credibility this year, but there b-ball reviews are on the mark pretty much. I am shocked Live came out and surpassed 2k3, but hey it happens. And WSB, go into the baseball section, and there is a huge thread on improments needed(not the recent one). the game was just overrated. As for 2k3's 8.3/8.1 on gamespot, well check out the gamefaqs forums, many people have mixed feelings about it....imo the fast break issue where the player stops on a dime should of been eliminated a LONG time ago, and there is no excuse it should show up here, 16 bit games have better passing and fast breaks then 2k3....there i won't spark a debate but it seems like people always hold sega games to such high hype, then when the games come out they aren't what they seem...tell me this, what has nba 2k3 done to improve gameplay wise and make it earn a higher score from last year?

Almost every gaming site gets paid by developers to advertise games not gamespot specially. You just said not to take the reviews seriously yet you have based your judgement on a game from previews from the same sites, without actually playing the game.

Re: GameSpot Gives Live a Better Review Than 2K3???

Well. You know, 2k2 got 9.X on gamespot last year. That's right, it worth!! I don't think the reviewer would give 2k3 a 9.X if there are no big improvements in it. I admit 2k3 is as good as 2k2, a wonderful b-ball game, but "as good as" can only make a lower score.
Just think about it. If the game is the same as the last year's ,it wouldn't keep the high score which the last year has. The score is going down and down every year with no improvements. Live is up now, got a much higher score than last year. IF LIVE 2004 IS NOT GOING TO HAVE A FREESTYLE CONTROL 2 , the score will definitely fall down again next year. So VC and EA just keep on working!!

What are you smoking dude??? This game has improved in all departments. Gameplay, graphics, options, ESPN layout, Online play etc..

GameSpot are EA fanboys and this is why they scored it a lower score. EA probably payed them off.

                    I am not dissing 2k3..In fact, i am a 2K fan as well. I played 2k2 for a whole year it's a awesome game.

So why we care about the scores? Love your games and be happy, we are gamers.

                        Oh! Me! Me! ME!

Thank God for Gamespot. I thought I was completely enjoying NBA 2k3, and that it was the best b-ball game I've ever played. Thank God they set me straight. I LOVE YOU GAMESPOT!

Reviews are utterly useless. Except, of course, the ones at OS.

one day yall will understand that a review/opinion will not always stand parallel with your own views...most of yall have that elementary mindstate where if somebodies opinion isnt the same as yours....they "dont know basketball...they suck!!!"....dont know if i agree with the review myself...but i'm a grown azz man and i dont cry when a review aint like mine....yall are silly...really silly....put your sega and ea sports flags and t-shirts away and just play the games...quit with the fanboyism

and vinsanity..i have to disagree with you..yes there are alot of improvements in 2k3...but in my eyes...the post "back in" animation was bettah in 2k2..and it actually worked how it was supposed to...and the passing game was bettah in 2k2..so no...its no bettah in ALL aspects...

anyways...right now...i think if they wouldve made the back in post animation work bettah and if the passing was fixed....and maybe bettah player models from the neck down..this game would be perfect for me..cuz everything else is nice....lets hope for these improvements next year

i'm passing in this game with no problem. what is everyone complaining about i have a friend here who has played organinzed ball and he says it's better than lives passing. mainly because lives passing is unrealistic.
