Re: This is what ESPN NBA 2K6 need to do to there franchise mode
What Visual Concepts needs to do is go back to its roots and then upgrade it...
#1 stop trying to be like other basketball games with video intro's and rap music.
(go back to the dreamcast era with the intro using ingame player models showing the nice crossovers and the detail of the game)
#2 bring back season mode, eliminate the whole association crap! Nice Multiple Franchise would be nice, with the option to create and fire coaches, just as they are done in the real NBA!
#3 unlimited caps, with the cpu actually saying their name using the cpu intelligence of college hoops with a library of names already in the system. Not to mention the option to change the numbers on the jersey's when players are traded numbers change....
#4 gameplay...loosen the gameplay real play contact, more aggression and player animation instead of the stiff iso-motion.
#5 3 man commentary in the booth a female commentator on the court and the stadium announcer. NBA inside drive did it...and it was nice but bring back the original 2k series guys and return with more insight. When they told you about the player and what he did in the off-season. Commentary that actually told what a player did 3 games back, that stood out.
#6 Create a Generic VC weekly wrap-up! Using in studio highlights with animated models. Also a full half-time show similiar to the ESPN NFL 2k5! Also bringing highlights from games played that same night!
#7 The option to paste photos found on the web onto rookies using Roster Editors and/or Action Replays.
#8 More downloadable content, such as adding tattoo's to players such as Kobe, Iverson or others who get more during the season, not to mention the ability to download more licensed shoes. More unlockables...etc, etc.
#9 KILL 24/7 Pointless and tired of it....I mean damn the street courts are more fun...Just add more of them with more detail and we cool...
#10 A NBA Crib a Real Once....unlike the B.s Football ones...we all know NBA players live like Gods.....
We all know VC and Take-Two have dropped the ESPN name for 2k6. So bring back the 2k series basketball we all loved before all the ESPN crap and flash....when it was about making the best basketball using your knowledge on the game. Instead of the Highlighted name..
Visual Concepts sounds fine to me...Last edited by Behindshadows; 04-27-2005, 05:00 AM.Comment

What's wrong with video intros and rap music? Isn't that what they do on ESPN's coverage?Comment

VC's biggest mistake is spending so much time on stupid 24/7 mode, if they ddin't do that so many other aspects of the game would be more polishedComment

no it sucks...its nice if they want to hip hop the menu's and even the stadium music etc etc...but 2k made a major difference when they were original..and using the in game models to create a intro was different and not all hyped up...
read this article...and tell me this isn't respect...

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Changing the intro and music isn't going to make it orginal. It's the gameplay and graphics.Comment

#1 thing, fix the damn gameplay. have guys do and play like their positions suggest. Also, refine all the little aspects of the game before going all out on new ideas. for example, there was no way to see how many years left on players salaries last year. 4 years before that and every year following, it was perfect.
Stick with what you know and just improve.. dont keep on adding junk that only makes things more complicated.Comment

Now that's hilarious. Seriously, that review you dropped on there about 2K was just the best review for a video game there could be. Honestly, I do remember those little things about the game that just kept me so into it. They seriously needed to improve on that aspect of the game. I'm kind of glad that 2K Sports dropped ESPN because they can learn to be creative and innovative towards another uprising of a great game. Honestly, I think they could try to have several intros and things like that. Make every time I turn on the game a different, yet fun experience. One time using games during the season, another using gameplay from the game, another showing old clips of the old 2Ks from before. I think if those were set to random, that could add to it. Gameplay especially. Just upgrade that joint. Hey, drop those ideas in the Wish List....Comment

the guy from visual concepts read the college hoops thread and responded when people dogged take 2, i wonder why none of them come in on a thread like this and defend themselves or just respond. Perhaps we have valid pointsComment

Re: This is what ESPN NBA 2K6 need to do to there franchise mode
What did he say and within what thread? I gotta read that. They're not really dogging T2. They're giving suggestions to get back to what they were when they were originally established on the previous system (DC). I think they're great, but they are focusing on things that aren't as key in making the game as great like 24/7 which nobody plays or enjoys like that. 24/7 would be a great addition if only they'd realize that they have to improve the crosses. They also need to tweak the Next Movement to be a lot more realistic on the defensive side as well as the offensive side. Better balance. We're just trying to improve their minor thoughts and overlooks. If only....Comment
