After editing a roster, when ever i look at the box score in association or season it doesn't say the actual players name. There is either a bunch of asterisks or some one else's name. Is there a way to fix this.

Sounds like you have some players that are assigned duplicate ASA ID #. Click the top of the ASA ID column and check for duplicates. Then just assign another number that isn't used.

Maurice, when you change the ASA-Id--which you'll need to to avoid asterisks--you'll lose the game-by-game stats of those players whose AIDs are changed.

Not sure. I'll test it right now and then edit this post. I know that I tried to boot a freelance practice mode and it did the same usual problem.

I am thinking maybe it's because I don't have the latest online data and patch updates? I know that I had them before, but at some point I deleted all of my 2k12 stuff. So that means that any of my newer edited rosters would have maybe some data that the out-of-box game cant recognize? Like shoe files and such. That certainly would explain why only out-of-box rosters boot the games correctly...

Anyway I will check on playoffs mode and see what's up.

PROGRESS! It's definitely something in the players tab that is preventing the game load. I removed everything one by one until I was down to only the teams tab and BAM! the play now game loaded just fine. Now I just need to figure out what it is in the players tab that is causing the freeze and I should be home free. I have a feeling that it's the shoes.

I think I've got it. Looks like there is something wrong with the head shape IDs. Gotta get going to work now so I will check on this more later.

As long as you don't have 2 teams with the same GID season and association mode will work fine.

Good to hear Tarantism. It's odd because if it's in the players tab, it must be some factor shared by at least all the edited players. Something in the 'appearance' fields would make sense considering when the freezing occurs.

Thanks, yeah so it was definitely the head shape IDs. For some reason the games couldn't load until I pasted the default out-of-box IDs over the edited roster. I think it's because my online data wasn't up to date.

That is strange. Now I'm curious as to why that would be considering I know I've had at least 2 players share a headshape ID accidentally. Good to hear you had gotten it resolved though and that the community has it as the information.
