While everyone seems to be waiting on the high school seniors of this year to arrive on campus next year, the NCAA has a nice batch of freshmen ready to hit the court right now. The top two recruits Treyvon Dickerson and J.C. Graham have been named starters for their squads (Louisville and Oklahoma respectively) and the world is ready to see if they are as good as advertised.

Speaking of freshmen, Fresno State freshman power forward wasted no time creating buzz with his 26 point, 11 point debut over IUPUI. Fresno State took that game convincingly 85 – 48.

Tough break for N.C. State and their sophomore guard Darrin Krimmer. In the last two minutes of a game (that he probably should have been out of since the team was up by 21), Krimmer tore his ACL as he was cutting attempting to create a turnover. “I can’t believe this is happening to me” Krimmer quietly stated after the game. “I just feel like the world hates me right now. What the hell did I do to deserve this”. We hope that Darrin has a speedy recovery.

NC State won that game against Hofstra 72 – 52.

With Stewart Braxton gone to the league, Rameek Toole is showing that we still haven’t seen what he is fully capable of. While he finished with a respectable 14 points, Toole recorded a career high 8 steals in only 29 minutes against Cal Poly. Toole is one of the early favorites to take home defensive player of the year award. Oklahoma State won that game 62 – 40.

Now in his second year, North Carolina sophomore guard Shaun “White Demon” Vegas Wade is ready to take on the “veteran” role. “Last year, I must admit that I was just learning how to deal with the competition and playing for such a prestigious school” Shaun said. “Now, I’m ready to make my teammates better and really bring out the best in my team on and off the court. I’m confident that this is the year we can make a tournament run”. While the UNC team still looks “average” at best, maybe the star power of Vegas Wade can be enough to get the team further.

Duke sophomore center Montego Hennesy (who is at the top of my big board at the current moment) has announced that the only way that he will bolt for the NBA after his sophomore year is if Duke takes home the National Championship. While I respect his decision, this is not the Duke of old so I feel safe saying “I’m happy I’ll get to see you play for another year after this big fella”.

Let the speculation begin! Number one high school senior prospect Christopher Bishop Jr. was seen at a Baylor game last night. Twitter has blown up with rumors that Bishop is leaning towards attending Baylor. Now before anybody runs with that, take a few things into account.

1) Chris was with his uncle Kareem who has been known to attend college games often.

2) Chris ang Baylor guard J.R. Williams are Twitter and Instagram friends and J.R. suggested thar Chris “come check a game out”.

3) Chris and Kareem Bishop both left immediately following the game and spoke to no one from Baylor.

If you ask me it’s a non-stoy but it wouldn’t be the first time I have been wrong.

Thank you for that sir. My knowledge of American colleges only runs so far. We don't get much NCAA coverage over here

So at the end of my second season the Cavs have beat the warriors in 6 games at their house for the NBA championship!!!! First ring for the city of Cleveland and a great prize for Rivers, Mcburnett, Griffin, Black, Conway, Tabor, Turner, Madison, Strickland, McIntyre, Parker and Drummond. People said they had no shot but with no trades made no top drafted players they proved them wrong. GO CAVS!!!!
