Aaaaaaaand, something nuts happened. With the first pick in the 2014 NBA draft, the Sacramento Kings selected, not Whakil Blackshear, not Ayo Wilson, not DeAndre White, but Christian McClain, the 22 year old Small forward from the University of Wisconsin. And He will be sitting behind Julius Goodwin who is already on the roster. Naturally, even though I feel bad about it and I don't think I deserve to get him just because the game's logic f*cked up and my save file f*cked up, I took Whakil Blackshear at 2 (reluctantly, because I still feel I shouldn't have him), and I thought about trading him to the Lakers for the third pick, and the 7th pick, where I would take Jabri Wilson and Gavin Williamson, but I decided I couldn't pass up on a player who could be the best in the league from day one. Ayo Wilson went to the Lakers at 3, and the Bobcats took Tyree Mccullough, and Jabri Wilson went fifth to the Celtics. At 7, the Lakers second top ten pick, they got DeAndre White, meaning Ayo and White will be teaming up in LA this year, and with Hector Garrison already on board, that is a dangerous team now. Also, the Lakers kept the Jazz from getting white, so there will be no Kareem Bishop DeAndre White Frontcourt combo in Utah this year. Gavin Williamson slid all the way to 27 (I considered trading up to get him in the late first, but decided to hold pat. i took the SeQuan Goodwin at the top of the second round again. Malik Snyder slid to pick 40 and the spurs to be Kurtis Holden's backup, and there you have it. I got Whakil. Yay, I guess... still feels like I shouldn't have gotten him.

Let's try this again, here are the draft results, for the second time.

Save your breath. They know its something wrong with the servers. Its been like that for a few days, that's why I've been personally emailing the class out to everybody. Don't know how long its gonna take to clear up but we not gonna let that stop our motion

I realized there's some rookies with CF (most from Euroleague I believe). Is it possible to make a draft class full of rookies with CF? Maybe half of the class with it.. I would like it.

I realized there's some rookies with CF (most from Euroleague I believe). Is it possible to make a draft class full of rookies with CF? Maybe half of the class with it.. I would like it.

DC10 is 90% cyberface so the answer is yes its possible. But don't discount our classes because of the lack of cyberfaced players. I think I do a h3ll of a job creating original looking players using the 2k creation tool.

Wow! I'll check the DC10 right now. I was just thinking there's so many "unused" CFs on the game that could be used on rookies... and you made it. I wonder if it's possible to make more DCs with CF, because I guess sometime the "usable" CFs will end. But I wish you can do this.

Btw as I said in my first post on the thread: these draft classes are incredible. Take a look at my Association with the Sixers:



I've tanked in 2 seasons and the results are: Kiante Brown, Justin Day and Stewart Braxton. Now I brought Kobe to "teach" (lol) Kiante Brown. I don't think I'll win a championship this season, but next season we'll coming to crush the Big 3.

The 2K generic rookies sucks. Thanks for the hard work. If you ever come to Rio de Janeiro I'll pay y'all a beer.

Yeah, I like the cyberfaces but I don't fall in love with them. As Dreece has stated, he puts a lot of work into the apperance of the players. There is a clear difference between the 2k generated rookies and the ones we put out. I can actually see a picture of the face of one of our players and tell who it is while most of the generated rookies all look the same outside of skine tone and hair styles.

Ya know, I have actually been meaning to post this for a little while but kept getting caught up doing other things. It is about the draft grades that I give prospects on the previous scouting report (more recently Draft Assistant Excel spreadsheet).

An individual emailed me regarding the number grades that the players receive. Now, I do want to say that the dude was very respectful and overall just seemed to be confused about what the grade means. I thought posting an explanation again might be beneficial to a lot of people so here it goes. The draft grade comes from a formula I created. It takes in to account how good a player is NOW, his potential ceiling, and the likelihood that he will reach that ceiling. Now a lot of people may say “why do you assign a percentage to whether a player reaches his potential ceiling”. That is where the three different versions come in to play. I look at the potential for all of the versions of a player and use that to come up with a percentage.

What all of this means is that you not only have to look at a player’s draft grade but also how I computed that grade. Let’s look at an example.

Player A’s current rating is a “Starter”(worth 40 points) . His potential ceiling is an All star (worth 50 points) and there is a 65% chance that he will become an All star. The formula would be: 40 + 50 + (50*0.65) which would equal 117.5.

Player B’s current rating is a “Top of the Bench”(worth 30 points) . His potential ceiling is a Franchise Player (worth 60 points) and there is a 45% chance that he will become a Franchise Player. The formula would be: 30 + 60 + (60*0.45) which would equal 117.

These two players are very different but their scores are separated by less than 1 point. Player A is already better than Player B and is more likely to reach his ceiling. Player B is not currently as good of a player as Player A but he has a chance to become a better, more impactful player in the future. Player A has a high draft grade because he is already very good and has a good chance of becoming an All Star. Player B is rated highly because he JUST MIGHT be the guy to turn your franchise around.

YOU have to figure out which one you pick with that information. It makes scouting an absolute necessity and it mimics real life more than 2k generated classes will. This is why I tell you not to look at ANY potential ratings when you download the classes. Just take what ya get and enjoy!

I also meant to include this so that you guys have an idea how I grade these guys.
150 and up = A+ prospect
140 - 149.99 = A
130 - 139.99 = A-
120 - 129.99 = B+
110 - 119.99 = B
100 - 109.99 = B-
90 - 99.99 = C+
80 - 89.99 = C
70 - 79.99 = C-
60 - 69.99 = D+
50 - 59.99 = D
40 - 49.99 = D-
39.99 and below = F

So I decided, rather than holding off for my space four, using some of my players and shaping my roster differently with two trades. The first one was me trading Nigel Hawes, and Jay Salah to Phoenix for Myles Adams, and Steven Jenkins, and we swapped this year's second rounders (I had Denver's second rounder so now Denver's 2 is in Phoenix, I have Phoenix's 2, and Denver Has my 2). This gave me a legitimate starting stretch four and then Jenkins is an expiring contract and a decent defensive center who can hold down the fort there for a couple years until DC8. The second trade was trading Bryce Joseph (who is not really a fit for my team and he is stuck on the bench behind Antonio Cameron and Whakil Blackshear) for Mike Johnson from atlanta who is a good shooter and can be my sixth man, but I had to swap first rounders this year. Now I have Atlanta's first, Phoenix's second, and this is my lineup:

PG: Blackshear
SG: Cameron
SF: Maxiell
PF: Adams
C: Jenkins
6th: Johnson
Reserves: Marcus Collier, Cosmo Stevenson, Danny Hunter, Eric Anthony, Zachary Voss, Sequan Goodwin.

Blackshear is the second highest rated player in the league in his rookie year lol.

Yeah I decided to weigh the market for stretch fours around the league, pulling out these names as guys I could trade for as a stretch four without costing too much (all were one star trade values)

The highest rated guys were Harper and Adams, and the deal was better for Adams so I pulled the trigger and I feel good about it. I think the team will be more fun to play with and I think Adams is a better player than Hawes. Then I added a sixth man.

Oh, something else interesting happened. Ayo Wilson, drafted by the lakers anlong with DeAndre White, was traded for a backup power forward, and no picks or anything. 2k logic. The Lakers still look solid with Luis Ramos, DeAndre White, and Hector Garrison, but they have next to nothing at point guard and Ayo is in Phoenix, along with Nevil Burns, and former Sixer Jay Salah.

Man I can't wait for Braxton and DC8. Blackshear and Braxton is gonna be unstoppable. I'm excited to play the Thunder this year, to see Adam Cameron vs his brother matched up and/or Adam Cameron vs. Whakil Blackshear. I'm gonna play the season opener now, so I'll give a game update on how it goes, I'm playing the Pistons, led by Tristan Coles and Leon Stickland returning as starters, and 19th overall pick Sean Hopp off the bench. They're a solid team but I think I could beat them, we'll see how it goes.

I am planning on starting a new association with the league tonight as the other team I wanted to be when I chose the Rockets. I am going to take control of the Portland Trail Blazers.
