Re: Playmakers NBA 2K10 Pro Level Sliders

Just tested out 2.1 Pro sliders.

Something is wrong with how fast players run. Not sure if it its related to the Quickness setting, and is intended. Players with the ball were literally running about 2% faster with Sprint held. Players without the ball were able to Sprint fine though.

Don't know if this is related, but the fast-break did not work for me at all. Again, players ran incredibly slowly and the CPU easily caught up.

Also feel that the CPU Tendencies need adjusting. Had been using Greene's sliders for quite some time, and think they are really good in this respect. Miami had 5 3PTA the entire game. They gave up wide open shots and I think that's because of how the Tendencies are set. It seemed like they were forcing it down low all the time.

Stamina must be changed as well. At 50, I didn't have a single player go below 4 bars the entire game (I had auto-sub on though). I think this is the only slider set that has Stamina at 50 still. I'd suggest a number similar to Greene's at 38. At that number, I actually have to use my Bench and noticeably feel my Starters struggling by the end of the game

Lastly, felt that the inside game was too easy. Both teams rarely missed inside.

I really noticed your intended effect of increasing unforced turnovers. Players losing their dribbles. Poorly thrown passes. Really enjoyed this aspect. Also, the game was really close throughout.

      Thanks for the update....

I'm not sure what is happening with the gamespeed overall since the patch.

Initially i had all but eliminated the quickness slider pre-patch so right now I'm looking at the possibility of taking game speed back down to 45 and utilizing the Player speed slider again.

Right now it does appear that the game post patch hasn't changed that much drastically from what i can tell on Pro Level. So by the time i'm complete alot of the testing might just eventually take me right back close to where i was before the patch was released.

Yea, I'm testing them right now and the game just feels real sluggish to me too. And I don't think it's the quickness because I was playing with it at 10/0 before, now its up to 25/25. I think it's the ballhandling rating.

I think you're right. The lower the ballhandling slider, the slower the player dribbles. Kind of unfortunate because I like what having the ball handling slider does to help increase turnovers.

You think it slows players down?

If that's the case then i don't know how to get the game to have more unforced turnovers because Ball Handling + Hands are the two sliders for unforced turnovers.

I'll try to boost it back up and see if any errant passes are made but at 0 I was seeing some nice things.

I might also have to go back to a higher player speed setting to make it work if ball handling is set low

I think a low hands slider + a low offensive awareness slider will cause some non-steal turnovers. It would be nice to find a combo that gives us the proper ball handler speed while still being able to have the ball handling slider low to increase turnovers.

lol, zack greinke comes into my LA Fitness pretty often during the offseason and plays pickup basketball games. Pretty neat, played with him quite a few times.

off topic but just your avatar made me want to share lol

Hey guys, I've been testing out these sliders and I think playmakers really on to something. A couple of notes, as the above poster was saying, when holding turbo the player actually slows down because of the low ball-handling slider. Another thing the On-Ball Steals are too high for CPU, I will set up a play and stand on the perimeter with my point guard and the CPU will always get a reach in call.

Thats been driving me crazy as i would have clear breaks fast guys and slower cpu guys would catch up to me when i touched turbo
? but when I had faster guys me going after slower cpu guys they blew away from me ?
I raised quickness a bit but it just really helps me on first moves to the hoop and way to many dunks then .

I'm hoping to have that balanced out by the morning as I've been messing around with like 2 seperate combinations that appear to work without slowing down the ball handler too much.

But the Player Speed slider is the trick it has to be increased.

Outside of Association Mode for those looking to make it work for quick games it appears the Game Speed slider being increased is the solution.

I'm just having hard time deciding which option I like the best because some guys might not like prefer increasing Player Speed or Game Speed but those are the options that allow the Ball Handler slider to be set low if we want to get more realistic turnovers onvolved in the game.............

Yeah the best combination without hindering the dribbling speed of players was this setup:

                          GAME SPEED-50
                          QUICKNESS-0-10
                          BALL HANDLING-25-35
                          HANDS-0-10

Now i'm about 75% positive that if we go with Ball Handling at 25 then the Help D has to come down because it will balance out the feel of the game when you hold Turbo....It kinda helps you to stay in front of defenders because they aren't closing as fast on the ball handler when he has a step on them in the open floor or going to the basket.

But that's only if I decide to go with Ball Handling at 25 which is the LOWEST Setting i would reccomend because anything lower will have you sprinting in MUD when dribbling.

So, I'm pretty happy with the progress i made overnight with the updates for the other sliders. I'll post them sometime after the Football games today.

But you guy's should like the overall tempo and player speed with those settings......not much sliding was happening on the floor at all as players were actually taking steps during all animations
