Thanks for the heads up man.....

I'm still finding my way around with 2K used some variations of sliders i used last year in the game. Wanted to start out low on sliders and then work upwards because i think that is the best way for me to figure out settings for years in most games.

im shooting a ton of shooting fouls, on minimal drives. its gotta be 16 to 4 in favor of user on FTs so far.

more info as the game ends
Look forward to the stats so i can compare them to what i'm seeing in my games and then start making adjustments later this evening after work.

Played my first 2k10 game against dallas w/ default sliders and it was like And1 with Kidd->Marion. Second game against San Antonio was much better.

Its good to see that team styles are apparent, but you should lower the "throw alley oops" cpu slider.

          Re: Playmakers 2K10 All-Star Sliders

Game #1 is complete. CPU MAVS lost to USER SPURS

          Quick Thoughts:

-never really close. CPU never truly posed any sort of challenge despite the score. cpu was mismatching all over the place defensive and I just took advantage.

-One example would be when I passed to Antonio Mc'dice' in the paint. Dirk was guarding him one on one initially. DAMPIER decides to "help" and leaves his man, Tim Duncan who was only 10 feet from the basket. I notice this, pass to duncan, and get the foul called.

-CPU Kidd to Marion was unstoppable. Good for 4 dunks and 1 layup. One Instance and Ill show you think, CPU teammate just watchs as he makes a nice cut to the basket. It's tough with crappy teammates.

-reaching fouls may be a tad too high. I noticed the CPU reaching, which was good, but one small reach and its a foul.

-Shooting fouls DEFINETLY, need to drop 5 or 10 notches. Almost every possession I could just drive half hazardly throw up a prayer and a foul was called. Stats show this as well.

-CPU Dirk despite those three instances of doing nothing, shot jumpers and was a real threat.

-PIP was relatively Low. THanks in large part to the FT numbers I feel.

-assists seem high but I doubt anything can be done for that. Kidd had 16. 9 at half.

-regarding contested layups, I saw likely a 50.50 split on misses and makes.

-CPU teammates dont rebound too well. It seemed like there was too many CPU off. rebounds, due to my teammates lack of skill, including tim duncan.

          Game Stats:

Bottomline, CPU AI is not very assertive defensively both my own teammates and the entire cpu team.

Offensively, Dirk had his midrange game. Nice variation there. What wasnt great was seeing the 5 alley oops converted. Defense from here on out will be key to "fix" via sliders.

Game two coming up. Lets see if theres any variation.

            Good stuff Ruben....

Looks like defensively the sliders can come up some more and possibly increase human rebounding defensively a tad.

Alley Oop slider is already reduced down to 16. I'll drop it to about 8-10 overall and see if that helps a little more. Although KIdd throwing 4 alley oop's to Marion with the way the Mavs want to play this year isn't that far off from realism.

              Re: Playmakers 2K10 All-Star Sliders

i got vids.. ill give them THREE. but hte last two. lol.. the first three I had mcDice on him since he was playing PF and marion was the 4. They really took advantage of that with 3 alleys within like 3 minutes.

This next game is quite different, as I face the Suns in phx with the bucks.. I cant make anything inside. The suns are doing alright.. Im down 20 early... with variation happening in every game in real life, thats the hardest thing about sliders.

the common thing im seeing from this game vs. the mavs/spurs game is four things:

-CPU teammates have a hard time with a cpu pick n roll.
-reach in fouls need to drop 5
-shooting fouls need to drop 5
-CPU teammates have a hard time getting defensive boards. CPU opponents has far too many off. boards. it looks like a boxing out issue. Im already baby sitting my teammates enough as it is, now I have to rebound for them? this game is quite the challenge... and i dont think thats a good thing.

              other notes:
CPU FASTBREAK catchup logic/ slowdown when they have the play, is in full effect. Amare stole a pass and dribbled all the way down Court. I couldnt catch up with REDD , RIDNOUR, or anyone else.. Yet when redd or ridnour steal a pass, AMARE is right there to stop me. another year of broken fastbreaks, i can see it now.

                PM:

I've played a few NBA today games. I've seen this occur in those game a lot and it's being reported in the forums that the CPU players are doubling down a lot.

I noticed you have Def Assist up to 60. I wonder if you lowered that slider on both ends, it would reduce the number of double teams. Your call, though.

Something you might want to take a look at. I know in coach settings I'm putting everyone at never double.

ugly game. not sure what to take out of this.

real life variation in full effect even with sliders. which makes the job so hard

Game started off with me missing a ton of shots and getting down 20 early. I came within 12 in the third then it just really got out of hand.

Now im not so sure its a user issue, ME, or the cpu ai.. where to go now?

Playmaker you change the CPU defensive assist in the controller steup at all? I lowered it down to zero. It helps your teammates to not rotate when they shouldn't.

What are your thoughts on that?

....and does cranking the help d up to 100 make your teammates shift more? Or just makes the rotation more effective?

Help D seems to make them react much better. I haven't tested it at 100 yet will test it out after work tonight.

Thanks for the Defensive assist input. I left that along so far....will see how it effects game play based on your findings.

You might want to lower the play the passing lanes as well...

...and raise attack the basket for the CPU...I don't feel they are aggressive enough...
