Re: Playmakers NBA 2K10 Pro Level Sliders

I'm seeing my guys act like brain dead morons half the time on defense. Maybe it's because I'm using the Clippers (zing!), or everybody just has borderline ******** D AWR, but on most possessions as soon as the opponent brings the ball up the floor it seems like everyone switches.

So what happens it a lot of time I have a C guarding their PG, my SG gets switched with their SF and my PG is on the C. It's crazy. It's like the trail player (my Center) always tries to pick up the PG instead of following his man. I have to take him manually a lot of times and follow the opposing C into the paint so he won't come get the PG. It's ridiculous. For some reason my guys get caught switching an insane amount of times too leading to open CPU shots.

      I'm frustrated.

PlayMaker and DavonBrown, thank you guys so much for these sliders. I just started a new Association with the Kings and did a fantasy draft. I'm loving it. I'm 4-2 right now. My games have been all over the place. The game before last I lost by 20. The computer was keeping me out of the paint and my jumpers weren't falling. Last game, Kobe was gettin to the hoop, hittin jumpers, etc.I think I ended up pulling away and winning by 8, but the game was back and forth until middle of the 4th.

I'm also getting great stats. A lot of variation in FT's for both teams, TO's, FG%, O boards, etc.

The only changes I made were to Hands, Hustle and Stamina. With Hands at 0, they were bobbling too many passes. I raised it to 5. I currently have Hustle at 65 and Stamina at 55. That usually gets good minutes for most of the players. BTW, I'm playing 8 minutes quarters.

What I do is change to the PG right after the CPU gets the ball. This allows me to run back and stop fast break points, then as soon as I have some help down low, I'll run out to the PG. Sometimes someone else has picked them up already, but it usually works fairly well. Most of the time it's either the SG or SF so I just switch to them and the PG will guard whoever is left. I've had my PG guarding a PF or C only a few times.

I haven't seen you post in awhile......

Good to hear that the sliders were helpful for you again. I think it has a lot to do with our playing style. I try to play the game based on each players actual tendencies in real life and I utilize the no switch rule as much as possible in all my sports games.

And of course by now you know I always try to find a value system in sliders that gives the CPU a fighting chance vs the Human player.

Take care....see you around in NCAA Football 11
Hey again Playmakers, I think the no switch rule might be key. I do the same in NCAA Football and it seems to allow the CPU to mount a worthy challenge.

I would actually be very interested to see what you would do with NCAA Basketball 10 as I feel that game is best played on Varsity, much the same as EA's college football. The game feels more fluid and open to me.

Anyway thanks again for your time and hard work.

I think it was AuburnAlumni who convinced me to try Pro level.....and he was right the games have great variety in them lots of different outcomes

This is only like my 2nd year playing 2K basketball and they did a really good job with animations in this game and the sliders collectively are the deepest set of slider options I've seen in any sports games.

Game still isn't perfect but I have to give 2K prop's they let you basically customize the game any way you see fit.

Does anyone else have problems hitting open jumpers to start the game?

I've got Kobe on the kings and if I don't get a layup or two in before I start shooting jumpers, it's almost always a bad night for him. I'm not talking about contested jumpers either, I'm getting wide open shots from the elbow.

I just checked it out (Dynasty) and it looks really good.............

Man that is a very good lineup you have going on for Sactown. But of course as a Mavs fan you must know even though it's no longer a rivalry today I still hate the Kings........

They used to play some classic matchups vs Dallas back in the day, I always hated Bobby Jackson and Doug Christie who would showboat on the floor any time they beat the Mavs.

I like these sliders-- a little challenging for me (as a newcommer and using the wiz) but still fun.. Quick question... for the fatigue sliders does "0" mean that they have very low stamnima and 100 means hardly tire or is it reverse?
