Re: Playmakers NBA 2K10 Pro Level Sliders

Hey man, I love your sliders! I have had many games that vary where I can shoot 55% down to 40%. My D is a bit shaky, giving up 108.9 PPG, but I also average 108.9 PPG, so it balances out.

I remember 1 game where it was Clippers (me) vs. Timberwolves. After the 1st it was 30-28 me. At the half it was 47-44 'Wolves. Then in the 3rd it got interesting. With 5 minutes left to go in the 3rd (12 minute quarters) it was 49-48. No one could hit the front side of a barn. The end of the quarter was 62-57 and I won the game 94-87. I just love how you can have hot streaks and cold streaks! Appreciate the hard work.

BTW... I have Hustle at 70 and stamina where you had it at first (don't exactly remember where) and it works great for me.

Hey man I love your sliders, but I have one question. How do I get more offensive rebounds. I average around 2-3 a game, and the CPU isn't significantly higher. I am always first in defensive rebounds and last in offensive rebounds. The CPU gets around 3-5, so they are a little better than me. What would you advice to bump up the offensive boards for both teams?

I wouldn't make any drastic switch probably set defensive rebounding at 75 vs Offensive rebounding at 35

I try to keep as many sliders equal as possible on both sides with no advantages so try that small tweak and see how it works for you.

I'm probably going to update these after the trade deadline since i didn't make any tweaks after the last patch.

Okay, I tried them both at 75, and there were way to many O-boards. I turned them both doth throughout the game and think I found a good solution. My D-Rebs at 79 and CPU D-Rebs at 76. Last game I had 15 O-Boards, while the CPU had 16.

2-3 offensive rebounds is about right. Depends on who your playing with. In the NBA, offensive rebounds usually come off of tips-backs(tipped rebounds not putbacks) and hustle plays, and since those are non-existent in 2K10, you will not see as many O-Rebs. The NBA average is about 4-6 per game.

Correction NBA average for off reb is 8-13. Boston the lowest at 8 something I believe and Memphis the highest grabs 13 a game. I play as the hawks and I have my slider set where I have their average which is 11 a game. Having off reb at 35 Def at 65. Works fine.

I'm aware of that. Zach Randolph grabs 4 per game by himself. You just don't get what I'm saying. Most offensive rebounds come from tip-backs and hustle plays. Minus those two elements and the NBA average comes way down. By adjusting your sliders to accommodate for lack of offensive rebounds you will get unrealistic gameplay(I've tried it). I'm gonna test out your method and give you feedback.

Oh I know what your getting at as far as tips and hustle elements. But when u say tips and hustle elements are non existent in 2k I'm not going to say your wrong but I have my slider set I get hustle and the tip elements that u were talking about. I don't know if it's the slider or the game with the new patch but I c it. But basically it's about being in position. If your in position and your player has a high rate for off reb there's a 50 50 chane u will get it minus the tip and hustle element that your talking about. Or u will get called for over the back. I've adjusted my slider and stiil get real NBA stats. It's not pin point maybe off by 2-5. But I do get my share of off reb. I get the hawks average at 9-10 but they average 11 so damn near close. Not pin point but real close. And it's not like that every game it varies. Not saying your wrong about adjusting sliders u get unrealistic but for everything is fine.

Ok no problem but I'm new to this and need help posting screenshots. sliders not a problem but don't want to post sliders without screenshots. As far as critisizing I'm not. Critisizing means finding something at fault. Never said someone slider is wrong. I might have opinons on how 1 or 2 sliders r adjusted just like I did with the off reb discussion and like everyone else. I actually said I like Devon slider check that out. Or if u know him ask him yourself. Playmakers 2. Tried them myself. Didnt think people were going to get sensitive. And I'm sure u have a set that r good. As far as the best can u please show me where I said that and I will never post again lol. Just have opinion like everyone else. And lately I haven't been home with studio time. Do everything on my iPhone. Didn't mean to make u feel some type of way my brother. You shouldn't feel some type if way if u feel like u have sliders that fit u. But if u can help on how to post screenshots holla. As far as your English it looks pretty good to me lol.

I just wanted to thank Playmakers and DavonBrown again for their work... usually I end up having to do a bunch of my own tweaks because I can't quite find a set that gives me realistic results, but the ideas from both of you guys has given me a set I am truly happy with.

Can someone help me understand offensive rebounding. I currently have offensive rebounding set to 100 and defensive rebounding set to 0 for both myself and CPU. I turned down help D and defensive awareness which seem to engatively effect these results significantly but I cannot get the CPU to have >9-10 offensive rebounds a game. I would appreciate help in understanding why this set makes offensive rebounding less than defensive rebounding but apparently gets more offensive rebounds?

Does the fact that d-rebs and o-reb being equal with increased o-boards suggest perhaps that defensive rebounding sliders are reversed (i.e. a higher defensive rebounding number actually makes offensive rebounding easier)?
