I took this idea from another thread, and it works like a charm. Put "Offensive Rebounds" and "Attempt Putbacks" at 100 or so. You will get more offensive rebounds (cpu had 19 in one game! ) And it won't effect shooting percentages, points, or anything really. Only problem with this, is that it still doesn't help the users. The cpu will get like 15 or so, but the user still gets like 6....I am confident we can find a fix to this ourselves now . Will keep trying, and let you guys know when I see improvement.

Btw Punt, thanks for the reply. I just asked because like I saw rashidi's few slider edits, and wondered if there was a reason that he didn't change more.

Anything to sell ****, right? Lol.

Perhaps the biggest impediment to O-Boards being addressed is this ill-conceived raw #'s ("NBA teams average x Offensive Rebounds a game") echo chamber we exist in. How difficult is it to understand that if a team misses 20 shots, 20 rebounds will be available; and if a team misses 5 shots, 5 rebounds will be available?!

Thus, you need to work w/ Defensive Rebound Rate (target: 74%) and Offensive Rebound Rate (target: 26%), and not raw numbers. When it comes to rebounds, raw numbers are nearly useless.

Oh well, fingers crossed for 2K12.

To this day I have yet to see anyone comment on how much influence the USER has on offensive rebounds. Personally I'm getting 5-12 per game, most being user rebounds, not by the CPU. If you hustle to get rebounds(like in real life) you will get more rebounds. After shot attempts I'm always LOOKING to grab a rebound. As far as the CPU's rebounding, that's a different story. I usually see 4-8 per game.

Using them on Hall Of Fame (12 min Qtr) and getting challenging games, but CPU always scores 100+ Points. Really hard to defend. What should i tweak?

Well these sliders were meant for pro, so you should take the cpu shot success down abit.

Does anybody else think that buzzer beaters go in a little too much with clutch on?

I really like these sliders but they are starting to feel a little easy. I'm 15-3 with the Bulls in my association and I never really feel under threat. Maybe time to play on allstar...

Well you do have to realize that you're playing with a good team. I'm also using the Bulls, but I traded for Carmelo too, so I'm one of the 3 best rated teams in the league. I'm 12-4 so far simming a few games. I have had easy games, but that's the sacrifice you make in playing with a great team. I actually blew out the Jazz and Bucks in back to back games then went out and got dominated by the Knicks(until I made it close in the final minutes, but still lost).

Anyway I made some adjustments with these sliders as before I wasn't getting good results. I can't remember all the adjustments I made, but I know I raised on ball D on both sides and lowered quickness and vertical. Getting great results now. My only problem is CPU FT shooting, they can't miss from the line. Last night against the Nuggets, they shot 25 of 26 from the line. Anyway to make it harder? I tried putting difficulty at 100 and that doesn't seem to do anything(for either side).

I'm 19-10 in my Wizards Association. I was 7-7 until I pulled out a 10-game winning streak. I won in Boston, 1-1 vs. Miami and Orlando, but 0-2 vs. Philadelphia!

What do you recommend to lower the scoring? I do play on 12 minutes (and would prefer to do so), but all my games end up with 100+ by both teams. My D isn't great, but it's the Wizards and Hinrich is the only good defender, so I'm okay with giving up those points. But it's every game I do so and it would be nice to every once in a while play good D! Also, on offense I constantly hit 100. Only recently I didn't (L 92-105 at San Antonio - Parker shut down Wall).

So yeah, the On Ball D for the CPU is fine as only Wall (and sometimes Hinrich) can isomotion past his defender. Which is good for me! I use Shot Stick Timing, but I lowered all User shooting sliders by 4. I shoot around 44% from the field and 3.

I am also using these on HoF. Right now I'm in a playoff series with the Heat and having an awesome time. I agree that it's incredibly tough to play defense, though. One game they shot like 65% and hung 130 on me. The game is ruthless but it doesn't "cheat" like it does on All-Star mode i.e. running down Derrick Rose on a fast break with Mike Miller

What I've done so far is up On-Ball Defense to 70 for both sides. And changed Help Defense Strength to 75 for both sides. That's definitely been useful in staying in front of guys. I've been using Josh Smith to guard LeBron and he was basically a traffic cone with the default settings. I've found that at 70 I can still get to the rim at a decent rate on offense, too, so no issue there.

Even with those settings both teams are still scoring too much (the CPU consistently has 35 point quarters and I'm dropping some big numbers myself) so my next plan is to decrease the shooting sliders a couple of points across the board. My guys do a good job of getting out to contest shots and it would nice if the CPU actually missed - especially when it's a dude like Mario Chalmers. I'm happy to wear points when my defender is late on a close out, or caught in rotation and out of position, or gets worked by a crossover etc. but it's heartbreaking when you play good D or fly out to contest a shot, then get a hand in a marginal player's face and he still hits the shot 50-60% of the time

I'll probably move all the shooting sliders to 48 (they're all at 50 right now) and see what happens. I play with Shot Stick Timing and I find if I nail the release with a good player like Melo, I generally nail the shot, despite the defense, so it would be nice to have a bit more of a challenge on offense, too

You could also try upping the Defensive Awareness slider for you or both you and the CPU. I generally don't like doing this, though, as I've found it results in a lot of steals and blocks that wouldn't happen in reality

Just thought I'd post a screen from my first game with this set using rashidi's roster

Well first off this was on All-Star cause I though it'd be too easy on pro but seeing how strong these Raptors were I may switch back to pro despite the fact I won cause defending is really hard even when assigning different defensive roles to every player (Tight defense on Bargnani and Barbosa for example) Also had way more free throws for some reason I didn't foul at all but this also means I didn't contest enough shots and 12 blocks is a bit high ain't it? (Dont know all NBA averages)

Any way to make these sliders a tad bit harder? Just lost to the Heat by 1 with the 76ers. LeBron had a dunk with 4.6 seconds left to go up 90-89.

I just did this. I upped the CPU On-Ball Defense from 58 to 70 and it's made a big difference. I beat the Nuggets 97-96 with Utah.

I'll give it a try. I had it on 60 before and I had lowered all user shooting success rates quite a bit and found that I am still over 50% most games. I am using shot stick instead of real % however so that may be the problem
