Re: RedLogic's HOF Slider set - Shot Stick Timing FG & FT's

Jesus Christ these are the most difficult sliders I have ever played with. Ive been a 2K gamer since 2K7 I have never found the game to be this hard until I inserted your sliders. First game I was the Hornets facing the Bulls. Chicago blew me out! Going into the fourth it was like 81-56. CP3 couldn't get any offense going for me, he was distributing well, but his shot wouldn't fall to save his life. I tried to manup and finish off the game but it just got so damn frustrating so I quit in the early 4th. Second game I faced the Thunder and I choose the Celtics @ home the game started off cool, but Pierce kept leaving Durant open for some odd reason he would keep on trying to double someone else. Score was something like 13-7 in favor of OKC until all the lights in my house randomly went out for a few seconds and completely turned off all electricity. -___-

The sliders are great, just very, very, did I mention incredibly difficult? Haha during the OKC vs Bos game I noticed clutch factor was on, I turned it off when I did I started to feel the game ease up a bit, Red do you have clutch facor on or off? Also defense is crazy on these sliders, Bulls was suffocating me. I just continued getting strip when I tried to faceup, or use a triple threat move. So I moved the CPU on ball steals tendency back down 50, I might put it back up to 55 tho.

Only flaw I really didn't like was the continuous strips by the defense. Also dunks, there was to many dunks IMO, so I decreased dunking tendency down to 33 for both User and CPU. Also in the NO vs CHI again I felt that I missed a few open shots I should of made, but I believe that was just me not really knowing the teams releases and that just being basketball. I'll try playing with these slider in a few more exhibition game to see if I want them for association. I like them alot cause you really have to work for everything you get and you can't take a possession off.

I haven't felt like the CPU stripped me too often. Actually felt like it was just right. However, you can turn down steal success. I would keep them as is, play a few more games and see if its still a problem. As far as shooting u should change them as needed, like a lot of people turn up 3pt shot for user and CPU. Change em as you feel something is off. If you read some posts in this thread you will see there are certain things u must do to succeed. One of them bein never takin a possession off or else the CPU will punish you.....have fun!! I'm glad they presented a challenge for you, better than bein too easy right?

As far as not hitting shots, you really need to know the timings on all of your guys before you start draining with consistency. My first few games in my association with these sliders, I couldn't hit a shot if my life depended on it. I spent some time doing freestyle practice with each player I intend to be shooting with, and learned each of their releases (more or less). I tend to bundle them up in groups, as opposed to being super specific.

            IE

            Super fast release
            Fast release
            Normal release
            Long Release
            Super long release

And then try to keep that as a reminder each time I throw up a shot. I couldn't drain a 3 with Mike Miller, I went into the practice mode, and now I generally drain my open looks ( I mean WIDE open looks ) 2/3 of the time (which is a pretty high percentage if you look at it). You've definitely got to mix up your offense to score consistently, play to your guys strengths, and keep your head in the game. Don't let 6 pt differntials discourage you... dont let 15 point differentials discourage you... just play each possession individually.

My mentality with my games lately is to win each possession, not so much win the game. It's helped alot, especially in games where I dig myself into a hole. IT doesn't always work, but I've seen myself climb back up from 10, 15 point deficits in my 21 games or so with these sliders thus far.

You really need to know the team you are using. Playbooks. Releases. Strengths. Defensive capabilities. It's so crucial to make the best basketball play you can with your team on each end of the court, and if you don't know how to use the team you have, it's going to be VERY hard to succeed while using these sliders.

But, once you get the flow of the game, and can compete, you'll really enjoy each game. There are games I can get crushed, games where its competitive each possession, games where I crush the computer, and games that get blown open in the 4th. Each game is a different encounter, it's really satisfying to know when I'm playing the 2nd overall best team in the league, it will feel like it (prior to these Sliders, it was always a 20 pt blow out, at best).

Stick with it - it will be almost impossible for a while, but you'll start figuring out the ways the team you are using can score consistently. For me, its the transition three, isolation with John Wall sprinkled lightly, pick and roll situations, and posting up with Bosh. Posting is huge - it slows down the game and keeps those games that are starting to get away from you from taking completely off. So many times I've steadied my team by going to Bosh in the post.

Anyway... glad you're enjoying the sliders. Hopefully you can find your niche and start balling on the CPU.

Re: RedLogic's HOF Slider set - Shot Stick Timing FG & FT's

76ers are on the left and the Bulls(me) on the right

My first full game with these sliders. I'm just very upset about the FG% for both teams. Next game I'm going to try to use real FG% instead of shot stick timing.

It was a good game, Iggy decided to drop 36 points on me. The game played very realistic and well. the 6ers came out running, capitalizing on every TO to their best advantage. The CPU played smart, I even had 2 or 3 palys were Jrue Holiday, Lou Will and Iggy broke me down with isolations and took it to the rack, it was beautiful. They were pounding me in the paint, so I tried running a zone. It worked well for a little while, then the AI seen that Iggy was usually open in the corners, so they picked my zone apart with passing until they got it to Iggy in the corners.

It was a good game, my defense didn't really show up, all though we did see glimpses of that suffocating Chicago defense. In the beginning of the 4th, I was able to bring my deficit down to 6 points, but Iggy quickly erased that by hitting a 3 pointer which was quickly a dagger causing me to basically doubt myself the rest of the 4th.

Re: RedLogic's HOF Slider set - Shot Stick Timing FG & FT's

These are easily the best sliders I've played with as I only play on Hall of Fame. My only gripes are that CPU rebounds way better than I do. I had the Lakers with Gasol, Bynum, Kurt Thomas, Hasheem Thabeet, and Kevin Love (traded for Odom) and CHI had Boozer, Gibson, Joe Smith, and Omer Asik and they still were outrebounding me 40-28 until I changed the sliders a tad. Also, my players refused to cut off any passes. Gilbert Arenas threw full-court passes and my players would watch as CPU catches and scores, so I boosted Play Passing Lanes to 35/25 and I'll test them out later today.

All in all, these are the best sliders for me as a persistent HoF'r.

I've played 3 games with these sliders yesterday with the Los Angeles Lakers playing against the Magic, Heat, and Thunder. I blew out the Magic and the Thunder by shutting down their stars Howard and Durant, although Gilbert scorched me from 3. However, I lost to the Heat 101-95.

Steve Blake missed a game-tying 3 pointer with about 30 seconds left and the Heat never looked back. Chris Bosh scorched me for 16 rebounds through 3 quarters and made killed me with his efficient scoring, due to 2K11 not letting the user have good low-post defense. LeBron and Wade weren't spectacular, but got a lot of "ticky tack" and-1's. They also cohesively mugged Trevor Ariza for a whack no-call which prompted me to edit sliders out of anger, but that change was unnecessary. Their play was geared more towards 2K11 being in love with the superstars of the NBA and not the sliders. Therefore, these sliders are still amazing.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, I pushed Play Passing Lanes to 100 and Pass Accuracy to 100, although when I played with CHI vs OKC they killed me so I might lower it.

Yea, I wouldn't just go around changing the sliders when you get beat because it will happen. You will lose games, that's the point of the sliders. Don't change em because you don't like the outcome of the game, just keep playing and you will get better. I wouldn't change either play passing lanes or pass accuracy but those are your choices and the beauty about sliders...you can edit as you please.

Honestly, my initial reaction to the game was "Wow, this game is grossly overrated". For about two months I vented my frustrations through rage-quitting and contemplated selling it back to Game Stop for an eighth of what I payed for it. I couldn't shoot or play defense to save my life and the myriad turnovers put me on the brink of a rage-stroke. I was certain that the game was developed solely to make the game more difficult and not more realistic.

Then it occurred to me that I was playing it like I would play 2k9 (didn't play 2k10 much).

This is the first annual sports installment that requires you to play it like the sport that it's trying to represent. This is why I now rank it up there in my top-ten games period. 2k11 has introduced a level of intricacy never before seen in a sports title. Anywho, your sliders accentuate said realism and that's an impressive feat. Your sliders make each team play akin to how they would play in real life. I actually feel accomplished when I score off of a nice play and I feel equally accomplished when I shut down a dangerous offense. I look forward to completing an 82-game season with these regardless if I make the playoffs or not. I just need to slow down and play an effective offense and attack in spurts.

Spurtability is what I like to call it.

Exactly. Slow that offense down and get it to the right guy, in the right spot. Enjoy the sliders, I have been.

17-8, First in the Eastern Conference, on a 6 game winning streak. Lovin it.

Don't be surprised if you get knocked out of the playoffs...It took me till my 4th season before I was able to win a ring. Then next season when I was attempting to defend my championship....I got swept right out of the second round. To me, I'd rather the game be difficult and make it much more rewarding when/if you actually do win it all. I don't know why people like it so they can keep winning championship after championship...where's the challenge in that?
