Redlogic, have you tried playing with Chia's roster uploaded by AeroSupreme... It works brilliant with your slider. You will see different gameplay with that roster, even better.

My only concern is offensive rebounds. In year 3 of my Kings Association I have Kevin Love (99 off reb) and Cousins (91 off reb). After 2 games they have just 3 offensive rebounds combined. They should each be getting about 3 per game, but at this point, I am hoping each of them gets one per game. What would you recommend to fix this problem? Should I just raise the off rebounding slider and lower defensive or should I change vertical as well since in real life they dont get rebounds from their vertical they get them from positioning?
I think it's pretty much agreed that there is a fundamental issue with this yr's version of NBA 2k when it comes to offensive rebounds. There is no amount of slider tweaks that will fix the programmed behavior of the players as far as positioning goes. I would be very hesitant to touch any slider like vertical that could have negative affects on attributes other than intended. My personal solution has always been that after I put up a shot, I quickly switch to a big close to the rim or even stay on the guy who shot the ball and go back up for the O reb. I have had a lot of success with this, grabbing offensive rebounds in the double digits very often. If anything, you can try to raise O Reb and lower D rebounds. As a general rule of thumb I don't like to raise or lower sliders higher than 75 or lower than 35 fearing that I may just break the feature I'm trying to fix altogether. My best advice is when you play try to control the offensive rebounder after you put up a shot and see if that helps along with minor rebounding slider tweaks. Let me know what happens. I'm always open to suggestions and if you find something that does help O rebounds I'll make a permanent change to the slider set after some testing.

No I don't use any custom roster sets, and I am so deep in my franchise (currently in season 5) that I don't want to start over. If I get the chance I will check em out. Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the sliders however.

I'm going to try these out tonight. I've been playing on All-star, but I think I need to up the challenge. Never played any NBA 2k game on HOF. Should be fun. Hopefully

These sliders will definitely present a challenge for you, I can almost guarantee. Let me know how it goes or if you have any feedback/concerns.

One more thing I wanted to add...with these sliders you must stay active at pretty much all times. You can't take a possession off, you can't fall asleep on D. I found I have the most success when I am using players to go for blocks, switch to a Guard for a steal then switch to a big man for a block, basically switching on D trying to stay active...tip passes, block shots, steal and contest. The better you get at doing that and staying active the more success you will have.

100% true. Just got a game in and I know I mentally relaxed on a few possessions and it cost me the W. 3 point loss to the Magic, mental mistakes killed me. Defensive activity and switching is a must.

Re: RedLogic's HOF Slider set - Shot Stick Timing FG & FT's

Got the chance to run three games yesterday, all exciting (went 1-2). Off the top of my head I feel like...

                  - The computer is exceptionally good at making... every shot, no matter the degree of difficulty. Bargnani, for example, went 16-22 on me (or something close to that), and I had McGee with a hand in his face on every jumper. Every turn around. Every post move. Maybe he was having a hot night - or maybe my reluctance to treat this as a video game based around ratings and act accordingly instead of viewing them as their NBA counterparts (Bargs would never make this shout came out of my mouth multiple times. And I refused to send doubles at him while he was going wild on me)

                  - After a few more games, I still feel like I'm missing a huge amount of open looks. Whether from Mid-Range or from behind the arc. I'm starting to hit more than my first games through pre-season, but still feel like those open looks should be producing points. The flip side is, those open looks missing I still feel like I'm in games that I can win. If those open looks would fall more often than not, I think I'd be cruising alot smoother through these games (all an assumption), so I'm shying away from changing the sliders and adjusting my game in accordance to that. I think it's a bit more realistic though, at the end of the day, because if teams hit all of the open looks they were given, things wouldn't be very competitive (I feel like I'm treating my team like the Mavericks in game 4 against LA, thinking they'll just drain all of their open looks.).

                  - Fast break wise, I don't feel anything too unnatural. Not that I'm looking at my Fastbreak points too closely, but as far as natural flow of the game, it doesn't feel out of place. I wish Iguodala would cut to the rim instead of stopping as soon as he reaches the 3 pt line in transition, but I think I can adjust that in tendencies (not sure, but I need to. Happens way too often and leaves John Wall unable to direct the fast break correctly).

                  - Fouls. I can't really tell yet, but in the 2nd quarter of my game against Toronto, I had piled up over 12 fouls. I'm not a big fouler, and that's really the only game I can say I noticed an over abundance of whistles. I get fouled, it seems, a great deal in the post when I'm backing down and going for points in the paint. My PF get's a ton of free throw shots. But again, this doesn't feel unrealistic to me, it feels like it should. On the other hand, I don't feel like my PG John Wall get's many calls - if any - in regards to contact when he's driving the lane. It's good to know I can throw it down low and I can get a pretty realistic call foul wise. It's good to know that I can't 06' D-Wade it and get calls all day from penetration drives. I think it works, there are times I wish I got more calls but I still don't feel like this stops me from being in position to win games.

All in all, I think the game plays out extremely competitive. You really can't let your guard down. In my two losses yesterday, there were stretches I'd have the lead in the 7-9 point range, stretches where it'd be a tie game and we'd go bucket for bucket, and stretches where I'd be unable to get myself offensively and they'd start pulling away with a few tough shots and 3 balls that seem to fall EVERY time if someone isn't there with hand in the face. I was still in position to win all of my games if I could have executed a bit more efficiently down the stretch. The playoffs will DEFINITELY be crazy. It's very telling how mentally aware I need to be every posssession, and mentally the biggest thing I'm getting into my head is to just take every possession as it's own game and not worry about the current score (whether I'm down or up). It's made my defense more intense as I make sure my guys get back and are bringing a high level of competitiveness every time down. And my offense has gotten stronger as I have to continue to find creative ways to get critical buckets.

It so funny you mention Bargnani, he is such an a$$hole in 2k. He is unstoppable sometimes and I usually go to the coach settings making sure to set pressure high on him when he has the ball and to deny when he is off-ball. Otherwise, I will run a double team at him every time he touches the ball. My thinking was, if he is the only weapon Toronto has I'll let them try to beat me with someone else but it won't be Bargs. I agree with what you said, that he does hit unrealistic shots, something I thought was addressed by the consistency slider for the cpu. There seems to be a few players that are like Bargs is, where when you play them they go nuts. I wonder if using a different roster set besides the regular 2k roster would address this issue? It may not be a slider issue but a tendencies issue. However, I don't feel like I have that same problem with most of the players in the league so I take it for what it is and double team his a$$.

As for open shots....my view on it (may not be shared by most) is that professional players miss open shots on occassion. The one thing that drives me crazy about the CPU is when they NEVER miss open shots. It drives me nuts, so I tried to address it but made it fair so both user and cpu miss open shots on occassion. If you feel it's too often or puts you at a disadvantage (which I don't think you do) then change the shooting sliders. As you said, games are close so it doesn't sound like changes need to be made.

Fouls I should mention, I changed the shooting fouls to 60 for user and cpu. Not sure if you have that on ur sliders, but give it a try...see how you like it. There is a very FINE line between too many foul calls and not enough. It's in the 60-63 range for shooting fouls...it's like a moving target depending on a game. So I put it in real NBA terms, when you see those games dominated by whistles or games where they let them "play on". So I don't mind it either way, I take it how it is and adjust my game accordingly.

Maybe we should think about looking for a roster set? Idk. I would hate to start a new franchise right now as I just signed John Wall and Paul George for 5 yr deals lol. It sounds to me like you are really enjoying your experience with these sliders and i can't ask for much more. Some people may not like the feeling of not being able to take a possession off, me personally I love it...and dude wait till you get to the playoffs...it's so freakin intense!

Yeah, I definitely should have ran doubles at Bargs but it was the hard headed NBA fan in me who said... wait since when does Bargs need a double when he touches the ball. Nonetheless, he did, and they made me pay. That game was actually my highest scoring game ever with your sliders... 106-110, regulation game even - no overtime... but I just couldnt get the stops I needed in the end and Toronto hit some very tough shots (they were home as well). Generally, my scores fall in the mid mid-high 80's range, which seems pretty on point to me. It looks like I'll have to adjust my defense just as much as I adjust my offense to account for players who are taking it to me.

I've never used modified roster sets, so I can't really speak to how that would effect running with your sliders. I imagine it'd fine tune it to play more NBA-like, but I don't have a problem with how it runs using the current rosters. Just have to play accordingly and everything will be golden. I wouldn't want to restart my franchise either - I love my Wizards franchise and look forward to figuring out how to fun with the changes I made between season 1 and 2. If I ever start another association, I may consider trying a roster set with it and see how that goes. I wanted Paul George on my team pretty bad, but Indy was reluctant to trade him for what I wanted to offer so I had to settle for Stephen Jackson. Ideally, I want Evan Turner, but we'll see what happens.

I agree with the fouls things - there are games that are getting too many calls, games that aren't - that's the gift and curse of playing a game like this. On one hand it might seem out of hand, on the other that DOES happen in the NBA, and you CAN make adjustments to your game and continue to play it competitively. Just like the open shots - if they aren't falling you can either keep taking shots that arent falling, or adjust your game. I'm all for adjustments, don't think the sliders create a problem. Only a challenge. Considering we're playing the game on HoF, with custom sliders, can't expect to just go out there and win while throwing alley oops and challenged 3's all game. Some people don't like it, stating it feels too mechanical and difficult for the sake of being difficult, but I feel like all of these guys are proffesional NBA players. They do this for a living. Even the "bad" players are still significantly better than we'd like to think.

It's alot of fun, and I'll be playing alot more games soon, can't wait. Like you've said and I've imagined, the playoffs are going to be something crazy.

If your playoffs are anything like mine, you will have the most exciting playoff run you've ever had. It took me until my 4th full season before I won the championship. I was done 3-2 to the Thunder with the last two games being away @ Thunder. I won both games by a mere 3 points combined to win it all....one of the best gaming moments of my NBA 2k career....following year I made a few changes (Namely not resigning Josh Smith to a six yr max deal, mind you he was already 30) and I got swept in the second round by the Tony Parker/Andrea Bargnani led Raptors.

Yeah, Josh Smith... 6 years max at 30... Who does he think he is Joe Johnson? LoL. In all seriousness though, seems like Bargs is the business in 2k and I'll have to throw doubles, triples, quadruples at him so he doesnt become Super Dirk on me every time we play. Playoffs will be great, but 3 games into the season that's a WAYS away.

I have no idea...try it out. I'm not sure anyone has tried them on Superstar. I imagine they won't work as well but ya never know.
