But If you are not in Leg tier, how are you supposed to get a leg card to sell? Not all free players can play as much as you, again you are in a small minority, you seem to be overlooking this. Your short sightedness is driving me crazy, just because you are in such a high tier doesn't mean everyone is. Some of us use things like RttC to try improve our lineups.

I don't think free players who are not in legendary tier can get them. The idea is that with enough time invested, you can pro your own players to get to legendary tier and then start the process. So long as you win the games that awarded you +7 points, however, you should be able to improve your deck. These events do require an extreme time commitment, even if you have money to burn.

Sorry if this is a repeat post from earlier today or from the weekend or if this bug was fixed near the end of last year, but I got a bad flashback today when getting ready for my next season.



Does anyone know if @NWGameDad or CD said if the RTTC glitch from last year still exists? I am talking about the glitch where once the RTTC is over and the lineup screen expires (now counting down at approximately 1 day and 12 hours remaining), all the cards in your lineup are locked and can't be used as training fodder until the next RTTC pre-game goes live? The only way to get it a card out of the RTTC lineup before the next event is to place it on the auction house and wait for it to expire and then reclaim it.

I thought they did fix it eventually in last years. I'd suggest being on the safe side, put in some commons

Just in case, I put all commons in my RTTC lineup and then quick sold all my commons. Problem solved, probably was overkill, but just in case.

By doing this, I lost some training fodder, but at least I hope that I've insulated myself from the risk of that glitch being back this year.

I think you may have come in to the party a bit late so to speak, this debate has been going on for a while. Check back a few pages if you're interested.

Anyway, I'm very familiar with RttC and how it works. The main point originally was that no matter how strong your deck is, could be the best in game, it was impossible to go far with the point totals needed for each card and the time allotted for the event, without spending RP/Money. If you slept 8 hours each night during the event and used all free GN given to you while awake, the farthest you could have gotten was finishing Sabonis. Now the disconnect is how easy/ hard each of us feels it is to obtain RP to spend towards the HS to help go farther in RttC. For the average free player, RP can be very hard to come by. Some of the top tier free players feel it is easy to obtain.

Yeah I guess we'll always have different opinions on how easy or hard it is to get RP. Also a genuine question here because I don't remember the numbers and I never got any of the top cards but was it ever possible to get the best card in last years app without spending credits?

Well, I know that I'll be not spending Rp on the next rttc if the points stay the same. I'd rather spend the Rp on the auction house with little effort to obtain a leg card.

You're right. I did buy the top Hot Streaks pack and got Frobe, but the app crashes prevented me from getting Shaq. I would have been doing +5's with Shaq and had the credits to burn; it just didn't make sense to do so. I'll agree with you there that the balancing act with Credits and Time spent isn't there.

That being said, several people did grind their way to Shaq, but it looked like this event had a strong "the rich get richer" feeling compared to other events. How did that compare to last year's RttC?

Well, I think the best cards were the playoff ones from the RttC warriors finals. Theoretically you didn't have to spend any money if you had enough credits, still very expensive to get the AI card though, I think everyone who got it paid to get to it. Also you could sell it on the AH. Since season rewards and the AH were done in credits, instead of RP, which are new to this years app, you could have hoarded a ton but I doubt anyone would have hoarded the amount needed.

I don't know if it was necessarily the rich get richer, just CD doing everything they can to maximize revenue. Not always sure if they go about it the best way though. You want to try as hard as you can to not alienate your customers, weather free or paid. Both are a very important in the current mobile gaming industry and it is a very fragile system.

The only downfall I have seen is the big swing and a miss with the new RttC point totals for each card and credits for GNs. If they can balance it more efficiently, it would be a perfect app so far. I have seen a few good suggestions mentioned in the forums that would be perfect, it would benefit both CD and the players.

They definitely did a great job with the game this year very balanced fun to play. but some of the microtransactions and paywalls are a bit too much they could definitely tone down the 'pay to win' aspect of the game since this RTTC was bordering on pay to play with higher rewards being impossible to attain realistically. CD's customer service and support remains suspect at best though. I mean look how they fixed the 2 minute GN bug which would've reduced sales but haven't still fixed other bugs like the season energy loss bug which reduce game quality. If they can balance sales and game quality then it'll be great but right now its skewed towards sales.

that's basically the key. depending on your tier and how the AH economy is, you have to evaluate your options and figure out the optimal path towards your own progression in the game.

not everyone benefits by buying HS to complete rttc. some are better off playing the AH market. there'll be better cards to be had when you're in a position to get them.

the flip side for those in lower tiers and less RP is that the AH market also fluctuates as higher end players move up. therefore cards not at the highest tier become more reasonably priced.

I'm not sure if I'll even go for the RTTC card next time because now I'm not really proing any cards until the new tier is out so it would be a bit pointless. I already have Kobe and 2 MVPs sitting there doing nothing because I don't want to waste my wild cards. Although if it's a Heat RTTC then it's a very different story
