I disagree. The chance of getting an epic/legendary is about 1 per 1000 picks (very generous estimate). So how is it fair that one can buy them While others have to fight those odds? And i dont believe that whole bunch of bs that this game wouldnt exist with epic pacts thats utter crap. This is not a stand alone app its a 2k affiliated app. Trust me on this one when i say that they would be totally fine money wise without these epic acts.

There are dudes here with over 15,000 picks that still didnt get a legendary. How do u justify it when a scrub with 100 career picks is able to have 2 to 4 legendaries just because he is stupid enough to dish out a good amount of money to buy it?

Both are an investment of a resource (money vs time with luck and a little but of skill thrown in). As long as the matchmaking is fair I honestly don't think there is an issue how you get somewhere. The game is already very friendly for a micro transaction free to play game (getting to play unlimited amounts, etc). As for being a 2k affiliated app, I wonder really how much 2k is involved with the card game side. They are tied to the vc side and probably have some deal with cat daddy to make the vc companion app, and in return cat daddy can use data and license to make the card game as they want which is probably where cat daddy the mobile game maker makes it's main money. We are supposed to enjoy the game as it is for playing it in my opinion. In fact I wonder if people would complain less if w/l was hidden from view except for yourself. I personally agree with turty that the main issue is season matching, I don't really care how people get their decks (I have played a variety of collectible card games like magic so the idea of buying things doesn't really seem foreign to me, although I actually haven't spent anything on this app yet because I want to see where it goes). I wouldn't mind if there was a more "skillful" mode though and better matchmaking.

Unfortunately yes it does matter. To truly maximize the pro, both of the regular rares should be maxed before combining -_- hope nwgamedad sees this on people not knowing this for combining and perhaps gives more priority to it or some sort of uncoombining (I'm sure people wouldn't mind both being reduced to regular level 0 pros so they'd have to re-level them both again)

There is a spreadsheet that people are updating that has a fair amount (not all though) rare pros on it. It does have those three though. Parsons is the most well rounded but lowest total (adding up all 4 stats). Gerald is high off and def but average ball control and mg, and kirilenko has stats more similar to a power forward, with high off, def, mg, but low ball control. He overall has the highest total of the 3. You can make your own judgment based on the spreadsheet though. Link I think is on page 1 post 1 of this thread.


Edit: is this for a regular rare or a pro of those cards?

From what I've observed through thousands of picks, I strongly believe that the placement of the card has nothing to do with the prize underneath. It seems that the outcomes of picks are dependent on their number (how many cards are left in the board) and possibly some other circumstances (how many energy cards you currently have.)

I've noticed that any time I'm low on energy cards I happen to pick up new ones within the first 4-6 picks on a draft board. I've also noticed that when I have a lot of energy cards the draft board always goes to the end with either the last or the second to last pick being an energy card. I can depend on these two outcomes, given those circumstances, about 80% of the time.

In regard to pulling rares/epics/legendaries from the draft board, I also believe that is determined when actually picking the card, not by where the card is placed. This could explain why the game needs to connect to the server for each and every individual pick. I think it's rolling its dice to determine what we get each time.

Believe me, I have tried countless patterns on my draft board. I've made a ton of little spaced invader-esque designs, shapes, patterns, and have even gone row by row/column by column. I've also taken note of where good cards were positioned on the board, like you're trying to do. The end results are just way too consistent for me to believe that the placement of rares, epics, legendaries, and energy cards is something that is predetermined.

Maybe it's a little of both, but I doubt that it comes down to just finding out where that secret card is placed. And if it were, I'm not sure the devs, knowing that, would place their good cards in any some sort of consistent pattern.

so...its only been 25 boards so its nowhere near enough to really judge off of....


of those 25 board clears only 15 of the 25 possible locations have contained an energy/rare+

of those 15 spots 8 have contained the energy/rare+ 2 or more times.

of those 8 only 2 have had both a rare+ and energy

and oddly enough one of the multi clear spots has given me rare support every time lol





some really rash math just based off these 25 clears confirms the 4-1 energy:rare ratio.

the ultimate conclusion jumping is that you will receive a rare every 66 picks will result in a rare.....

going off a pressumed 3% chance for rare being an epic that is 1200 games played to get an epic (i think thats kind of high so using 5% chance its 730 games to get an epic)

Not sure about the energy part (more likely to get it if low on energy) but I am fairly inclined to agree that it is not set and is basically rolled on some random number generator at the time the card is selected. That seems safer and less hackable than saving it anywhere locally and then sending the result to the server.

Alright, I'll check that spread out, thanks. & Its for a pro version of each, I have one SF spot open so Im trying to get the best player out of the 3 to a pro version to insert into the empty spot.

I've noticed this too. I have over 100 energy saved up right now and over the last 2-3 days, every other board I needed to go through 20+ picks before finally finding that energy...

if we can get 3-4 people who have pulled multiple energy/rare in EACH of the 25 boxes maybe we can come to a conclusion

i do wish they would just tell us the actual rates..not like it hurts the game in any way..if anything it gives hope for long droughts of crap

I'll do another one today and add on to whatever I've got already.
I usually get 15 energy+rares for every 200 picks.

First Time) 200 picks - 13 energy/ 2 rares
Second Time) 205 picks - 10 energy/ 4 rares

Some of the rares I wasn't able to record because I was clicking too fast but I'll slow down when I do it again later on.

ok lets clarify some things.

there is NOTHING wrong with buying packs...if people didn't buy packs this game wouldn't exist...its not free for them to make/host it.

the problem lies in the fact season match making is really bonkers right now and people who spend money to multiple legends/max pro epics are playing against newer/unlucky pick players....stop bashing people for buying packs and patiently wait for the next update with rivals mode and possibly fixed season matching (to some extent)

Haha looks like some people got really heated back there... On a side note, I've gone through probably 2000-2500 picks for the past couple weeks and haven't had any luck on another epic/legendary.. Nothing but duplicate rares I have already maxed, Might be time to take a break for a bit. Altleast until these new modes are thrown in...
