Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
And you think that CD is going to change the game mechanics so it's not a win-win situation for them anymore?
You want the best cards in the game? Fine, either play an insane amount of quick games, or compete for the top tiers in Rivals, or buy several packs until you get a legendary card.
This game is about making money. If you want a good deck, follow the path they've designed. If you're okay with having an average deck, you can for free. Just play casually an be okay with getting one epic once in a while and very slowly improving your deck.
Once the new matchmaking is implemented maybe average decks can compete between them and top decks won't kill their seasons. But I don't think CD is going to make the game more rewarding for casual players, that's just not good for their business. It's the way it is. Rivals is already quite rewarding on the lower tiers, it takes just a few of hours to get an epic pro.
Seasons are the mostly the only aspect of the game people get discouraged by, and by what NW has been saying, they're improving it. We can only wait for that.
I, like so many other people in this game just want my favorite players, all i want is a Penny Hardaway and a Dwyane wade. I dont care if every other card in my deck is Jason Collins. But the chances of me getting those two cards, whether I spend money or grind for years is probably about 1 in a million for both.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I really don't see the point of rival cards if they can still get beat by an non pro legendary or even an epic pro they should be the best cards in the game.Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Sorry, this is the internet. You claim that you've spent $0 and you have drafted Robertson and Smits. What about Dr. J.? Also drafted? Within 35k picks?Comment

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I get discouraged by the fact that this is a game and whether you spend loads of money on it or not there is still no rewards for the effort you put forth in it. People with strong decks most likely paid for them they still don't reach the endgame, which is to get pros of every card in the game (which they keep raising the difficulty of by adding more useless rares of the same person on different teams, epics of the same player on the same team, or adding legendaries of epics still on the same team. Not too mention the worthless Rik Smits they just added). The point is no matter what you invest in this game whether it be time or money you still don't get rewarded when it comes to the draft or even seasons for that matter
The inherent design of card games like this is that you'll NEVER complete all the cards. Especially not when you need duplicates of cards in a random draw system with an expanding card pool. So you can't call that the endgame, because no one will ever reach it. Players like Adil, Aristocrat and Twist who've spent $1000s on the game need motivation to keep playing. But they're proof that what you say isn't true - they spent a lot, and the have the largest trucks in the game.
"Worthless" is relative. I'd love to pull Smits off the draft board, since 2/3s of my Seasons deck is still rare pros.
It's a core design of F2P games that spending $ gets you faster advancement. It's especially true in this game, just because $25 gets you a guaranteed epic and a % chance at a legendary, which are both very low drop rates (ultra low in case of legendaries) off the draft board.
So you want to be a truck? These are the ways:
1. Spend enough money on epic packs and you'll start getting dupe epics, and epic pros are stronger than single legendaries. Buying $25 epic packs until you start getting dupes is the easiest and fastest way there. Every other option pales in comparison. Spend even more and you'll start getting dupe legendaries, to create the most powerful cards in the game outside of (most) pro RCs of which Twist owns all three that exist, so those aren't worth discussing - and we need to note that pro RC Timmy and Ewing don't crack his QG lineup. (Of course some legendaries like Mully and Yao... ok let's forget those exist.)
2. The next fastest way is to get the highest tiers in RCs, which to some degree is made easiest by Hot Streaking which again means spending $. You can avoid spending by grinding hours each day of RC. Time (and patience) or money, whichever you have, will help you. If you don't have either or both, tough luck.
3. Outside of that, you're stuck with luck off the RC or QG draft board. You're most likely not winning any seasons once you're at the rare pro plateau, because the guys who did 1 and 2 above will be trucks, and it looks like there will be a couple of those in every season, at least until the Seasons Revamp that NWGD says is coming (and we have no idea how that's gonna go).
If you play F2P games (app or otherwise) you should be used to this. Spending accelerates advancement. It's be design that if a player gets frustrated by the slow advancement at the rare pro plateau, he either grinds RC or starts spending. If he can't do either, there's a chance he quits the game. If the player wasn't spending in the first place, then it's an acceptable loss.
From what NWGD said, the app is getting more and more players - the last NYK vs IND clash had the most players to date (hence the server issues). Losing players that don't spend is just a statistic, and when you're dealing with player numbers in the hundreds of thousands? NBA2K14 has shipped 5 million copies to retailers (http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/02/...s-to-retailers). Let's say that half of those were bought, and 10% of those buyers are playing the mobile app (and knowing how free VC attracts 2k14 players, that may be conservative). That's an estimated 250,000 players hammering CatDaddy's servers during RC.
As always, we on the forums are the vocal (1%?) minority. Everyone else just plays, and in some cases, pays. Is it fair? It's not meant to be fair. And I'm sure that everyone prefers to have the ability to grind infinitely vs having a "player energy" constraint (you can only play 100 QGs a day, pay $1.99 to buy 200 more QG plays today).
So yeah. Forum complaining is a time-honored internet tradition, but so far the game seems to be working as intended. Again, I'm interested to see how CD revamps Season Mode, but I'm not expecting a massive improvement in the rewards or matchmaking overall.
See you all at the PHX vs DAL RC. I'm not choosing a side yet - it'll depend on what Epic Pro will be on each side. Last three have been 2 PFs (Tim, Worm) and 1 C (Reed). Hoping for a guard of some kind.

Re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
I think that'd rule the whole 'rivals' aspect pointless to be honest, sure there'd still be one team with more wins than the other, but it'd make it pointless in my opinion
