Well he GameDad did say this is just to prep for the actual update. So who knows when that will actually be.

But for 2k15 they can just update the 2k14 side of the App where you get the free VC, check My GM, My Player etc, the MyTeam Mobile side wont require an update unless the gameplay mechanics are going to change. Although it is based on the console MyTeam it isnt tied to it. I dont think they will be able to annualise a card game the way they do with the console game. I dont know. Not trying to be arguementitive , just seems both forums have been taken over with this idea that we are all wasting time/money with this, as its all going to end soon. I dont think it will be the case.

It would be the easiest thing for CD to give a statement about the future of this app. They just refuse to do so. Therefore many players are very pessimistic. The fact that CD would probably make more money with the release of a new app without cardtransfers could be the kiss of death for the my NBA 2k14 app. Just look at the ingame prizes for packs, CD is a very greedy company. Do you really think that they dont take the opportunity of starting all over again to increase their profits?

This semi truck must not care about this season at all or he's just waiting to recharge towards the end just to get into the playoffs. Either way let's hope he just knocks himself out the playoffs and all I'll have to worry about is SaraMarie.

Stupid network error!! All my hard work in a season gone in the 1st round because I couldn't recharge my players!! Such an awesome game but so many bugs they should really fix it up!!

Yea that sucks, thats my only issue with the new rewards for seasons. Rare cards are not a reward for getting to playoffs. I would rather get some of my Energy cards back than rares at this stage. Im about to lose in Finals to Adil, last season I lost in finals and got an Epic Robert Parish so not sure if i will get lucky twice in a row. I wish they would at least clarify if the update is approx a day, a week or two weeks away so people know if they should start a season or not. I think most people will hold off on starting a season could be a good time to jump in, but if the update rollls out 2morro and im locked in a season i wouldnt be impressed.

I asked nwgd directly and he told me he has no exact date so who knows when this update will be out. However I do know I'm done playing seasons till the update comes out.

People suspect this game will be abandoned for a couple of reasons.

1. CD is being VERY generous with rewards now.

In a game in which the top level cards are now being given out fairly liberally, through improved season rewards, improved drop rates, and RC (with expanded tiers), that is clearly an issue for the competitive landscape. If the top level cards aren't going to be special anymore, how much longer can the game actually last?

2. Licensing

Nobody knows 2k's deals they have inked, but it seems like they get new players every year. Some get added, some drop. I doubt they have the ability to just keep using a player's likeness after 2k14 is replaced, unless they negotiate a new deal. Unless 2K negotiates new deals with EVERYONE, there's an issue. What happens to my Wilt Chamberlain card, if he decides he doesn't wanna be in NBA 2K15?

There are actual logistical issues here, that I think people are ignoring just to say the game will carry on. It's just not as simple as using these players' likenesses for as long as they feel like it.
