How I personally do it is pick a line to complete horizontally, usually if I get a assist card I go that picks row vertically. I get the clearing card probably 80% of the time

There is no method to pulling cards, its just the luck of the board. There are different methods people use to try and clear the board faster but it has nothing to do with the card.
