I guarantee if Kobe becomes an only low-post guy he will shoot 50%. Too bad it wont happen because Kobe is a volume scorer

That's what I'm trying to say, his game will become more and more 1 dimensional. His post game will still get him his fair share of shots, knocking them down shouldn't be difficult either, but he'll be very predictable.

This is Kobe's "MJ Moment." He knows he shouldn't be attacking as much as he used to. Luckly, he's been working on his fundamentals and post moves for awhile now. He'll be fine, but I don't trust the rest of his teammates stepping up.

That's the perception of the league about the Lakers right now.

But like I said, we are going to be better than people expect. I'm not saying we are guaranteed to make the playoff or anything, but definitely much better than people think.

Defense will be the main issue for our team. Even though we have a defensive minded coach, but not a lot defensive personalities on the team. However, a lot of times defense is about effort, so I think Byron could make them a little better on that end.

Offensively we are gonna be okay, we don't have another star outside of Kobe, but we have a lot solid players that can contribute. Lin, Randle, Young, Henry, Wesley, Boozer, Davis, Hill, Kelly, Clarkson. A lot of players with chips on their shoulders.

As long as we stay healthy, don't get crazy amount of injuries like last year, we gonna be okay.

Theres no way the Lakers are making the playoffs this years, the west is just too deep for them. I mean OKC, San Antonio, the Clippers, and Memphis will all be top seeds, then you got the middle of the pack teams being Phoenix, Portland, Golden State, and Houston. Not to mention, the Lakers have very little depth, and Kobe wont help them every game. The game has changed. It isn't back when Jordan, Bird, and Magic were around and when one of your star players took over you had a pretty good chance of winning. Nowadays, team need every player to produce, and most of the Lakers players wont produce big on a nightly basis.

Last year was a bad year filled with injuries. This team should be better and possibly in the hunt. I just feel like this is nowhere close to a final product or a team ready to compete. Like I said earlier, based on current situation in the west, I feel there are at least 8 or 9 teams better prepared to make the playoffs.

Since when do people keep saying they won't make the Playoffs? Last season they didn't, the season before that Kobe got injured, and they barely made the Playoffs, the seasons before that they were elite.

Don't act like that roster with Pringles guy as your coach could have made it in the west. You would have had to win 50 games just to squeeze into the 8th spot. I give you a better chance than last year due to the roster improvements, but this team isn't too impressive.

remember the season Kobe went down?

Lakers had an awful start to the season, literally everyone in the league said we won't gonna make the playoff. Even Magic Johnson was like, sorry, my Lakers are not gonna make it this year. LOL Then boom, we made it as the 7th seed. Could have possibly gone further if Kobe didn't get hurt before the playoff.

They're in the West, they might grab the 8 seed, but it'd be an early exit. I think they need more pieces, more defense for sure, I think they'll be like a 10 seed this year, and then the year after will be the "Post-Kobe Lakers" pretty much.

Spurs, OKC, Clippers, Blazers, Mavs stayed the same or better than last year.

Rockets, Warriors, Grizzles are worse than last year.

No one said Kobe is a role player, he's elite of course, but coming off back-to-back season ending injuries, he might not be the same Kobe with the underbite look.
