re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
In my opinion they paid Cat Daddy to make the VC/companion side of the app, and then gave them permission for the NBA rights/their player stats from the console, etc, and let them make the card game to make their own profits off of. They probably got some chunk of money for the VC app but I doubt they got much for the card game. No facts to back that up, but given the pay structure that's what I would guess.Comment

You are only thinking about the Kobe though. People got Byron Scott too. I got an epic pack (which I got a Peja out of, admittingly worse than Byron Scott) for top 50. I didn't spend anything. It's not just about the top prize. If they give better prize support for the mid and maybe high levels, it is an *alternative* or additional mode that people want. You, shokase, and everyone who got the Kobe seem fixated only on the top.IGN: Chyeaaah

And we're not complaining. I'm complaining about you complaining and bitching for deciding you wanted the top spot, got it, and then feel what, regret after? I wanted a mode that gave possible rewards and improvement by grinding. At least we were grinding for something besides energy. So yeah you are being a douche.Comment

Well I am just going to enjoy the game. I won't be playing QG for a while. Just gonna follow up on my season. Let's see if my hard earned Kobe and Manu epic pro gets me to the top. That's why I took advantage of this tournament, you get rewarded with your hard work. The hell with luck. I wouldn't spend on another epic pack after going 0/7. Although I won't discourage other people because the developers of this game do need to get paid for all their hard work. I won't envy the lucky ones (Shokase 3/4 legendary, the econo dude who went 2/2 legendary or people who draft legends with <2K QG). I'm thankful for this tournament that allow the hard workers (lunatics?) to get rewarded for grinding. Now I don't feel as bad after my 0/7 epic pack disaster. The developers deserve my money. Now let's see if I can take down top seeded Spartacus.

re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
Hey josh how many seasons total did u play ? Hard to believe u only won 4 seasons because ur team is literally legendary lol.
I miss the days where games used to be about earning what u got not paying for it. I played dota for couple years and theres was no paying in that game. Before that counter strike same thing. Now
We have games like 2k where on release day u already had people with 99 overall balling in the park. It was hilarious busting their *** with a dirty brown shirt 65 rated player
I've been playing games since the Nintendo came out in 1985 and I agree some games are fun to earn your way up. Sports games I do like that I can speed up the process a bit. Mostly because they tend to have a short life span with all the games that I play.Comment

I come from another similar game where success cost WAY more than it does here (think thousands of $, not hundreds). And looking at the leaderboard... i know some of those names already.
The day they didn't make enough money... the game closed. Be THRILLED that you can compete with Rare Pros, and have a way better drop rate than many other games. And now a new reoccuring game mode with more free cards. And nothing but complaints. There are WAY worse money grabs out there.
And yes, I'm one of those new guys who spent some cash. Not a ton, and I have had great draft luck admittedly too. But I'm also just passing 2k games played, half of them during the event... so I'm here to grind as well.
I do agree with improving the prizes. I've lurked for some time before posting, so I'm quite familiar with the forum thoughts. Duplicated cards would help... add a prize level that gives 2 of the team epics (Scott/Bradley), and add a prize level between the single epic and 2 random rares that gives 2 of the SAME random rare. Wouldn't add much to the prize cost, but would help the mid tier a bit.
I finished around 770, which took a legit grind given my great-but-not-enough-to-ruin-the-game team. As I said... I played more games in the event than I did in the 2 months beforehand, amd doubled my Epic packs purchased. There is no way this event wasn't a successful trial... but CatDaddy seems to be interested in this forums thoughts. So offer constructive criticism... and realize that big spenders exist in all games, they pay the rent for the company that makes the game... be glad the game is designed to allow competing with them realistically.
Cat Daddy is a subsidiary of Take Two, meaning Take Two owns 50+% of the company. 2K Games... also owned by Take Two. That's like asking why Big Macs cost so much money when the restaurant that sells them has a partnership with other McDonalds.CatDaddy's profits almost certainly come from sales, with a chunk going to 2K for game engine and name use, and a chunk going to Take Two cause they own everyone. Not the other way around.
Moo.Moo.

re: MyTeam Mobile Discussion
The main problem with this game isn't even drop rates or rewards... It's that the game isn't actually fun to play. This huge grind mode only highlighted that.
The devs seem completely opposed to adding any sort of real-time competitive mode, or actually explaining how seasons work in detail, so that probably won't ever change.Comment
