Really glad to read that NWGamedad is back here to clarify things. And big ups to Anchen for his giant brain lol you were pretty much right over and over. Now that we clearly know how the cards are randomly distributed, unfortunately, now I clearly know how bad my luck is haha

Anchen is correct. Your sample set is just so small you end up feeling like you're seeing patterns when it is just random. When we look across the millions of cards we give out each day then you get the expected distribution based on percentages. Go flip a coin 10 times. You should get 5 heads and 5 tails, right? I doubt it will work out that way though with just 10 flips. Try 100, a 1000, 10,000. As you get more and more the 50/50 you're supposed to get turns out to be closer to true vs. just your 10 flips alone.

Could you give us a ballpark figure on the legendary rate? I'd like to calculate my expectation value after having about 17,000 picks without getting one.

Right! That def makes sense! I know the server transmits what card to give out but what I wanna know is, are there rares/epics/legendaries that are more "common" than others in the same rarity class?

If I had to guess, it would be no, no card is more common or rare within the same rarity as another. Humans as a whole have trouble with randomness. Try googling/wiking things like Gambler's Fallacy or Hot Hand Fallacy, etc. There is a lot of stuff with probability that is no intuitive to how the mind works but is true. Example for cognitive bias of most humans I roll a *fair* 6 sided die 10 times. Here are the results in order:

1 5 3 5 2 4 6 2 1 5

I roll it again 10 times:

1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1

These each have a 1/60466176 (this is 6^10, or 6 to the 10th power) chance of happening. One "looks" a lot more random than the other though doesn't it? If you really want to nerd up some statistics can read something like this: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Probability/Combinatorics

I saw a tweet a couple weeks ago that was released by 2k but I can't find it any more I was looking for it to post here, but they said the chances to draft a legendary card was less than 1% it might have been .0034 or
.034. I wish I had saved the tweet when I had the chance

If I had to guess, the rate is probably a little *worse* than what most people think. Consider there are probably thousands of accounts with say ~200 wins or less, that have no legendaries. We'd never have any of those people come in here to this thread probably. But those picks "happened" and thus for every 1 person who comes here about how they got a legendary in their first ~1500 picks, there is probably about a thousand who never and will never say anything to us. And then there is a lot of people who like you hadn't gotten a legendary.

The short answer is no. The exception being when you buy Team or Division Packs. Rares and Epics in those packs obviously pull from those Team/Divisions making them drop more frequently.

Any thoughts of a market or trading system? A market like selling card to get more draft picks or something like that and a trade system where players can trade cards to a server not human and human trades I think that could break the game but human CPU trades could be interesting.

Also are the percentage numbers in the quick game draft board the same as the rivalry draft board? I got like 5 epics almost one a day during the event and only have drafted one epic in the weeks of playing quick games.

Will we ever see new cards? New players added from the past or something like that. I know you guys just added the rivalry cards but I think more cards would be nice to see.

Last question. Has there been any talk of when we will see another increase in epic or legendary drops in quick games in the near future like we saw on 2/3/14. The myteam console players got a lot of love during all star weekend but nothing was done to the mobile side.

Player to player trading is not something we are actively pursuing right now. We have discussed it, but it is not high on the priority list. Having some way to gain benefit from cards you no longer need, that is something we are definitely looking at. The percentage drop on the Quick Game and Rivalry boards is the same. The difference you're seeing is again that random chance and a small sample set. New cards...hmmmm...what an interesting idea... ;-) Although I would not rule out ever doing another "Epic Drop" event again, we currently do not have any planned. I just now realized that all these guys have different energy levels. I was wondering why in the world my 1972 ELgin Baylor rare was down to 50 pct energy after one game every time while the other guys still had something around 80 pct energy left.

Im only on my third season cut me some slack. Energy threshold doesnt show when you look at cards in your collection.

The Rivals Events are your best shot if you want to guarantee a reward. Like I said now several pages back, we are making the rewards for the next Rivals Clash event MUCH better.

That made my day! I don't need player trading but if I can get a benefit for cards I no longer need or want, that is great news indeed.
