Thanks guys, I've been wondering about the player's ability use for a while now.

Can someone explain to me the strategy of running 3 good players in quick games and then 2 commons?

Do you get matched up with people with worse overall line ups? because if not then you might aswell just put in 5 good players.

It lowers the opposing talent level a bit. Your team's overall point value is lower, so you get slightly easier matchups for your top 3. You toss a common out first against their best card then try to take the 3 quarters your studs play against slightly weaker opposing cards.

Its a totally valid strategy I've used myself. I currently prefer a well-rounded lineup (all players as close to equal as possible in total points, which means sitting a Legend if all you have are 4 Rare Pros to team with him for another Rare Pro or single Epic), with a few modifications I'm still testing... but I do admit I've had good success with 4 Epics and a common before.
                    Moo.

Your QG opponents are dictated by the strength of your lineup. By including 2 throwaway players, you are making it so you face weaker opponents.

Against weaker opponents, your good cards should be automatic wins.

Every so often, you come across other line-ups playing the same way, and you have to adjust, but it's a pretty decent strategy.

I don't employ that strategy anymore, though. I'm running a 5 Rare Pro lineup, optimized for HIGH numbers in the stats that matter, across every player in my lineup. EASILY beats the 3 Up, 2 Down strategy.

So you guys would say its based on the numbers of your cards and not the rarity?

Whenever you change your QG lineup, if you notice, any card you are swapping into your lineup has a +/- number associated with it.

Going from one card to another raises the overall level of your squad. It's based around the overall numbers on each card, but it's not like seasons where it's 1:1.

I'm assuming the numbers associated with each card are added up, and you're placed into a tier of players with similar overall numbers to yours. Adding in garbage players lowers your overall level, while still leaving you the 3 players you need to win a QG.

                            EDIT-

That's the screen that comes up when I try to sub Rubio out. Certain players leave my team on the same level, while others raise it, and others lower it.

                                Same to you.

It was looking a little rough for me at one point. My opponent wasn't recharging, and his stats were getting dangerously low. Luckily at Game 4, he fully recharged, securing my victory.
